Business / 10 Business Ideas To Start With 100K In Nigeria That Will Make You Millions by EntrepreneursNG(f): 1:56pm On Dec 10, 2019
Obviously, there are several people with business ideas but have a small amount of money to start. If you check the story of successful business owners today, you will discover that many started from their homes or with the very little amount of money.

That said, do you have 100k at hand and you are wondering what type of business to start? In truth, there are several businesses you can start with N100k but I'll be sharing 10 of them in this article. Share these ideas with your friends and don't forget to add more in the comment section to help others.

1. Pop Corn Production And Sales

Popcorn is one of the snacks you can trust anywhere, anytime. Many people sometimes opt for Popcorn in place of food. You will also agree with me that popcorn is loved by both young and old. The market is quite wide, so you cannot go wrong with this business idea. All you need to start is fresh moist corn, butter, popcorn machine, sugar, salt and any other flavor you love to add.

2. Barbing Saloon

People visit the barbing salon regularly either to have a hair cut or to shave. The good thing about this business is that there is a ready-made market for it. What you need to start the business is a store, clipper, sterilizer, comb, generator, etc. On another hand, you can start the business by offering home service to your clients and thereafter get a saloon as you expand. With these, you may not even exhaust your N100k. So, you'll have leftover cash for other side hustles.

3. Grilling Business

You can also call it Suya - locally grilled cow meat. This business is majorly done by Hausas but other tribes are gradually gravitating towards the idea. To date, children and adults still crave this delicious treat.

Although Suya has been around for a long time, it will interest you to know that 'asun' (grilled meat), grilled fish and chicken (barbeque) are also gaining ground. To start, you can get a permanent stand, you can also go to grill at parties, dinners, birthdays, etc. and make some cool cash. All you need for this business is a griller, desired ‘protein‘ and spices.

8. Phone Charging Business

A constant power supply is still an issue in Nigeria. And, of course, everyone wants their phone on at all times. Either for business purposes or otherwise. For phone charging business, your target audience are those without alternative power supply.

All you need for this business is a power source, and a large wooden board with lots of switches, to accommodate lots of phones.

9. Organic Drink Production and Sales

People are beginning to realize how detrimental soda drinks are to their health conditions. So, they are gradually gravitating towards naturally produced drinks. Anyone who goes into production and sales of naturally made drinks now is in to make lots of profit. To start this business idea, all you need is a blender, desired fruits, and ingredients, plastic bottles, and a refrigerator.

10. Errand Service

Errand Service is one of the easy businesses with much profit potential. Moreover, the business does not require any professional skill or certification whatsoever. Interestingly, you can start with very little capital.

Today, people are too busy such that it is difficult to run their errands themselves. So, they are more than willing to outsource the task. To start errand services, give your business a name, register it legally and start advertising it to your target audience.

In Nigeria, there are several blogs that focus on gossip, politics, music, sport and the likes. But, you will only find a few blogs that center on business-related topics. Business / Steps In Choosing A Business Name For Your Company by EntrepreneursNG(f): 6:36am On Aug 24, 2018
Choosing a business name is important because it has to be gotten right. To get a catchy business name, you have to follow these steps which worked perfect for me when I used it.

Go back to the basics
Review why you want to start the business, what it is to be known for, the visions, mission and selling proposition for your business. Also consider the industry you are in and ensure you are personally happy with the final choice. This is important because your business has to live with the name for a long time. It should be a unique unforgettable name.

Conduct a brainstorming session.
Think about the name suggestions that are coming to mind and write them out. This you can do with a friend, colleague or partner. At this stage, you will have a very long list of names. Do not be afraid, you are still doing alright. Be creative. Let the thought process flow freely. Follow the guidelines that you have set for yourself. Avoid names that will limit you to particular geographies or location or allow you move around to add product lines.

Keep it simple
Simplicity is sexy. Straight-forward names are back in style. They cost less to brand.

Take time off
You will have a long list of names most likely. Remove those that don’t resonate with you till you prune the list to about five names. Then walk away and come back after a time. If none of the names feels right to you, then start brainstorming again.

Check For Availability
If it is acceptable, check for availability – both at the corporate registration authorities in your country and online through Google search. Check if the .com domain for the company name is available. Customers tend to associate .com with established brands than .net or others. If not available, then check if the domain owner is willing to sell. Check if the name is trademarked or not with the registration authorities. Check on the social media platforms for the availability of handles generated with your business name.

Ask the right audience
Ask the right audience (aside family and friends). The right audience are people who are going to be using your product or services. Find out if the name makes sense and if it links with the product or service you are selling.

Secure the business name
This is done by registering your business with the appropriate authorities (probably working with a lawyer). Incorporating a business name, even when the business is small, is important so that the business is a separate legal entity from you the owner.

Follow these steps and you will get a catchy name for your brand. Don't forget to thank me later smiley
