Politics / 2019: Big names that may not return to Senate by Entvibez(f): 2:21am On Oct 07, 2018

Two former governors from Zamfara and Yobe states, Ahmed Sani Yarima and Bukar Abba Ibrahim, will be among the big losers when Nigeria ushers in the 9th Senate in June next year, Daily Trust on Sunday reports.

Both Yarima and Bukar Abba had served as governors of their states from 1999 to 2007, and retired to the Senate ever since, just like other former governors that had served out their tenures.

They are among over a dozen of notable senators that would not return to the Senate after losing out even before or during the primaries of their various political parties.

In what appeared to be like a political retirement, the duo of Yarima and Bukar Abba were edged out by their state governors, Abdulaziz Yari and Ibrahim Geidam, respectively.

The two former governors are not alone as a few other notable senators also lost out in their bid to return to the Senate. Other big senators that will not appear in the 9th Senate include Ben Murray Bruce, Abu Ibrahim, Rafiu Ibrahim, Abdullahi Sabi, David Umaru, Mustapha Sani, Umaru Kurfi, Joshua Lidani, Baba Kaka Garbai, among others.

1. Ahmed Sani Yarima

Yarima, 58, who hitherto called the political shots in Zamfara State, is now going to be watching the activities of the Senate from outside, perhaps on TV screens, after spending 12 years as a legislator.

Our correspondent gathered that Yarima had reached an understanding with Yari, his erstwhile political godson, to vacate the Senate seat for Zamfara West for the governor come 2019, while in turn the governor will give him the free hand to select the next governor of the state.

As it turned out, while Yarima relaxed to respect the agreement, Yari had since reneged on that political arrangement and anointed one of his commissioners, Muktar Shehu Idris, to succeed him. Yarima on the other hand is backing Yari’s deputy, Ibrahim Wakkala, to clinch the ticket.

But analysts said Yari’s plan ab initio was to retire Yarima politically as he has since picked the Senate ticket to replace the former governor in the Senate.

2. Bukar Abba Ibrahim

For Bukar Abba, it was a game well planned by his state governor, Geidam to make him lose relevance. The current governor has since picked the ticket to replace the former governor.

Since the inception of the current 8th Assembly, there has been a silent war between the one-time political warehouse of Yobe State and the current governor, who is also reported to have acquired a lot of political sagacity and clout in the state over the past 10 years.

When the silent war began to become public knowledge, the former governor was said to have boasted that he could return to the Senate as long as he wanted.

However, he was also reported to have asked the sitting governor if he was interested in the Senate seat after his second term, since they are both from Yobe East.

As the primaries to select candidates for various positions in the 2019 general elections drew nearer, stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State endorsed Geidam to replace Bukar Abba in the Senate, and so the former governor had no option but to budge.

3. Ben Murray Bruce

Murray Bruce, owner of the Silverbird Television, is one big senator that will not be seen in the 9th Assembly. Soon after the inauguration of the 8th National Assembly on June 9, 2015, Murray Bruce carved a niche for himself as one of the few senators that could be described as those who know their onions.

The champion of the ‘common sense,’ Murray Bruce had indicated his interest to recontest for the Senate seat for Bayelsa East Senatorial District.

But the lawmaker himself knew from day one that his was a concluded matter – that he cannot return to the Senate – due to the zoning arrangement in his area.

Though he purchased the nomination and expression of interest forms for the contest, the senator was forced to dump his ambition few days to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries for the position as the handwriting was too clear on the wall for him that he could go nowhere.

4. Abu Ibrahim

The face of Senator Abu Ibrahim, one of the elders of the 8th Senate and a fourth termer in the Red Chamber, would not be seen on the floor of the Senate after June 9, 2019.

Representing Katsina South, Abu Ibrahim, now 72, could be described as someone that has seen it all, legislatively speaking.

At some point, the senator made up his mind not to return to the Senate, but some people from his senatorial district had wanted him to return. But in the end, he made up his mind not to seek reelection.

5. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi

Sabi, a veterinary doctor and first termer in the Senate, became known nationwide having been appointed as the image-maker of the 8th Senate. Because of the nature of his assignment, Sabi was seen as one of the few senators close to Saraki.

As a senator, he had faced a lot of challenges back in his senatorial district as he was reportedly attacked on a number of occasions by his constituents.

His bid to clinch the APC ticket for Niger North met a brick wall as he lost at the primary to a fresh entrant into the race.

6. Rafiu Ibrahim

Sen Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim represents Kwara South. A former member of the House of Representatives and a second term senator, Rafiu is one of the closest persons to Senate President Bukola Saraki.

As a matter of fact, he is often described as a ‘Saraki boy’ because he owes his political ascendancy to the Saraki dynasty.

After spending months campaigning to return to the Senate in 2019, Rafiu Ibrahim was left in pains as he was asked not to re-contest. He was so unfortunate to have the current state governor, Abdulfatai Ahmed, who also wants to come to the Senate, from his senatorial district.

It was gathered that Ibrahim had campaigned vigorously and mobilized delegates and other supporters to back him during the primary, only for him to be asked to shelve his ambition for Governor Ahmed.

7. David Umaru

Umaru who chairs the Senate Committee on Justice and represents Niger East, happens to be one of the respected senators of the 8th Assembly.

However, back in his constituency, he also lost his return bid to the Senate, and like others, he has since alleged a foul-play in the conduct of the primary that saw him losing.

8. Joshua Lidani

Lidani, a former deputy governor of Gombe State, represents Gombe South Senatorial District.

A PDP lawmaker, Lidani has joined the league of those whose faces will not appear on the floor of the 9th Senate as he lost his seat to a female member of the House of Reps, Binta Bello.

9. Umaru Kurfi

Kurfi hails from President Muhammadu Buhari’s state of Katsina. Though a first termer, he is accorded a lot of respect by his colleagues due to his maturity.

However, he too lost his bid to return to the Senate on the platform of the APC.

10. Baba Kaka Garbai

Garbai, representing Borno Central, came to the Senate after the demise of Zannah Bukar, who had won the election for the senatorial seat during the 2015 elections but did not live to witness the inauguration day.

A lawyer and a prince in the Borno Emirate, Kaka was saddled with the responsibility of chairing the Senate Committee on Rules and Business even as a first termer.

Though he had set out to go for governorship of the state, just like his fellow senator from the state, Abubakar Kyari, he was later asked to step down for the anointed candidate of Governor Kashim Shettima and a former commissioner, Prof Umara Zulum.

Were Kaka not to be from the same senatorial district as Shettima, he would have been given his return ticket after stepping down for Zulum. However, Shettima has picked the ticket to replace Kaka in the Senate. Kyari, who also stepped down, has since got his return ticket.

There are other senators that may not be returning to the Senate some of whom include Foster Ogola from Bayelsa, Gilber Nnaji (Enugu), Mustapha Sani (Niger) and a host of others as they lost their return bid.

However, there are other senators who will not be in the 9th Assembly not because they lost their return ticket or were forced out tactically but because they went to contest for governorship seats in their respective states.

Such senators include Kabiru Garba Marafa (APC, Zamfara, pending), whose primary has been postponed several times due to different reasons; Jerry Husseini (PDP, Plateau, won); Sunny Ogbouji (APC, Ebonyi, won) and Magnus Abe (APC, Rivers, lost).

Others are John Owan-Enoh (APC, C/River, won); Usman Bayero Nafada (PDP, Gombe, won); Suleiman Hunkuyi (PDP, Kaduna, lost); Hope Uzodinma (APC, Imo, pending); Abdulaziz Murtala Nyako (ADC, Adamawa, won), Philip Aruwa Gyunka (PDP, Nasarawa, lost); Shaba Lafiagi (PDP, Kwara, lost), among others.

Saraki, Kwankwaso, Mark may get return ticket

Meanwhile, our correspondent reports that Saraki, Senators Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, a former Kano State governor and former Senate President David Mark, all of whom are participating in the battle for PDP presidential ticket, may get their return tickets to the Senate if they lose out.

But it is not clear if a former Plateau State governor, Jonah Jang, who is also a PDP presidential aspirant, would get a return ticket.

The trio of Saraki, Kwankwaso and Mark reportedly obtained the PDP nomination and expression of interest forms for the Senate by proxy should they fail in the PDP presidential primary.

Sports / Cristiano Ronaldo Removed From EA Sports Website Amid Rape Investigation by Entvibez(f): 4:40am On Oct 06, 2018

EA Sports removed Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo's image from a photo of the FIFA 19 video game cover on its website Friday.

Francesco Porzio of Onefootball posted before and after images of the site on Twitter:

Ronaldo's picture from the website comes on the heels of the reopening of an investigation by the Las Vegas police into an allegation by American woman Kathryn Mayorga that Ronaldo raped her in a hotel room in 2009.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, EA Sports released the following statement regarding the removal of Ronaldo's image: "We have seen the concerning report that details allegations against Cristiano Ronaldo. We are closely monitoring the situation, as we expect cover athletes and ambassadors to conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with EA's values."

After fans noticed Ronaldo had been removed from the banner photo for the game's Twitter account on Wednesday, an EA Sports spokesperson told Wesley Yin-Poole of Eurogamer that the company "updates its social banners for certain marketing beats."

Last week, Ronaldo called the allegation "fake news" on Instagram Live and added, "They want to promote my name. It's normal. They want to be famous to say my name, but it is part of the job. I am a happy man and all good."

According to BBC, Ronaldo reportedly reached a $375,000 settlement with Mayorga in 2010. In exchange, Mayorga agreed to not go public with the allegation.

Mayorga's allegation was made public in German magazine Der Spiegel, and Ronaldo's lawyers called the publication's reporting "blatantly illegal" while announcing their intention to seek damages.

FIFA 19 was released on Sept. 28 with Ronaldo as the cover athlete in his Juventus kit after joining the club on a transfer from Real Madrid in July.

Politics / Election 2019: Atiku, Saraki’s Bid In Trouble As PDP Favour Northwest Candidate by Entvibez(f): 12:07pm On Sep 02, 2018

Senate President Bukola Saraki and former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar may see their Presidential aspirations vaporize before their eyes.

The two men recently declared their intention to run for the Presidency under the banner of the People’s Democratic party.

According to the Nation, however, their declarations may be all for naught as the PDP look for a candidate who is from the Northwestern part of the nation.

At the moment, the candidates who are qualified using this particular filter are: Senator Ahmed Maikarfi, Alhaji Sule Lamido, Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, former Special Duties Minister Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, former Kano State governor Ibrahim Shekarau, former Sokoto State governor Attahiru Bafarawa and former Kano State governor Rabiu Kwankwaso.

There is pressure from many quarters for the PDP to choose a candidate from the Northwestern part of Nigeria as it is believed that such a candidate has the best chance of defeating Buhari who is also from that art of the nation.

Owing to Buhari’s popular status in the Northwest, the PDP may decide to choose a candidate from there to even the odds a bit, this would mean that both Atiku and Saraki’s bids would fail.

Rabiu Kwankwaso, a former Governor of Kano state and a presidential aspirant explained the thinking to journalists as he declared his intention to run for Presidency.

“Everyone knows that the bulk of the votes come from the Northwest and it would not be wrong for anyone to suggest that the PDP candidate should come from that zone.

“You all saw from the last general election in 2015 the number of votes from Kano alone. So it’s just normal to expect the candidate to emerge from the Northwest. That is the only way to defeat them (APC). But this is my opinion because everybody has their different opinions”. he said.

Crime / My Son Was Radicalised In University – Osama Bin Laden’s Mother by Entvibez(f): 2:42am On Aug 04, 2018

Alia Ghanem, the mother of Osama bin Laden, the mastermind of the September 11, 2001 deadly attack on the United States, has spoken about her son, saying he was a shy boy who was radicalised in the university.

Over 3,000 people died in the terror attack which has been described as the deadliest in human history.

Osama was later killed by the US military in Pakistan on May 2, 2011, approximately 10 years after the attack.

Ghanen said she always told her son, who was the founder of the al-Qaeda terrorist organisation, to stay away from bad gangs but that he never admitted his activities to her because he (Osama) loved her so much.

The woman, who is in her mid-70s, told Guardian UK that she was “extremely upset” when she found out, because it never crossed her mind he could become a jihadist.

She said the family saw him last, two years before the 9/11 attack took place.

“We were extremely upset. I did not want any of this to happen. Why would he throw it all away like that?” She said.

In the historic 9/11 attack, 19 militants associated with the al-Qaeda terrorist group hijacked four passenger airplanes and flew two of them into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, another plane hit the Pentagon just outside Washington, DC, while the fourth plane crashed on a field in Pennsylvania.

Ghanem said, “He was academically capable. He became a strong, driven, pious figure in his early 20s while studying Economics at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, where he was also radicalised.

“The people at (the) university changed him. He became a different man. One of the men he met there was Abdullah Azzam, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood who was later exiled from Saudi Arabia and became Osama’s spiritual adviser. He was a very good child until he met some people who pretty much brainwashed him in his early 20s.

“You can call it a cult. They got money for their cause. I would always tell him to stay away from them, and he would never admit to me what he was doing, because he loved me so much.”

One of his younger brothers, Hassan, said the family was initially proud of him when he travelled to Afghanistan to fight the Russian occupation, but that things later changed.

He said, “I’m very proud of him being my oldest brother. But I don’t think I’m very proud of him as a man. He reached superstardom on a global stage, and it was all for nothing.”

Another brother of the late terrorist, Ahmad, also said their mother remained in denial about him (Osama) even after 17 years because she loved him so much.

“She only knows the good boy side, the side we all saw. She never got to know the jihadist side,” he added.

He said the family knew within 48 hours after the attack that he was the one responsible for the attack. “From the youngest to the eldest, we all felt ashamed of him; we knew all of us were going to face horrible consequences,” he added.

Crime / Fake Mad Man Arrested For Kidnapping Teenage Girls (photo) by Entvibez(f): 3:30am On Jul 26, 2018

Policemen in Lagos state have successfully apprehended a man who pretended to be a lunatic to kidnap an 11-year-old girl.

A fake mad man, Muyideen Fatai, has been arrested after he abducted an 11-year old girl, tied her mouth and was taking her to an unknown destination before she was rescued in Lagos, according to a report by PM Express.

It was gathered that the incident happened along Ijaniki Road by Total filling station, Ijaniki, Lagos, where Mr. Fatai was said to have accosted the victim, Miss Aishat Tunde, on her way to an undisclosed destination.

However, his plan was foiled by the residents who saw what happened, apprehended him, rescued the victim and handed both of them over to the police for investigation.

At the Ijaniki Police Division, Fatai pretended that he was a mad man but that did compel the police to release him.

They transferred the matter to the Anti-Kidnapping department for further interrogations where it was discovered that he was not a mad person.

The incident was confirmed by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edgal, at the State Command, Lagos. CP Edgal stated that on 17th July, 2018, the father of the victim, Mr. Tunde Kamoru, 43, reported at the Ijaniki police station that the suspect who had no fixed address muffled the mouth of her daughter with a veil in an attempt to kidnap her.

The attempt was foiled by the some residents who saw what happened and contacted the operatives of the Neighborhood Watch.

He said on the receipt of the report, he directed the Anti-Kidnapping Squad to take over the case and investigate it properly.

Edgal said that upon interrogation, the suspect who had earlier pretended to be of unsound mind stated that he liked her and was only trying to take her home to feed her.

CP Edgal said that investigations were still on and the suspect will be charged to court after the conclusion of investigations.

He noted that the incident had clearly shown that the members of the public were now conscious of their environment and working with the police for effective policing of the State.

He further enjoined the public to remain vigilant and report to the police whenever they suspected the movement of individuals around their environment.

Okiki Afolabi has been voted player of the year for the 2017/18 season in the Ethiopian Premier League.
Afolabi’s club, Jimma Aba Jiffar, were crowned champions of the Ethiopian league on Tuesday after their 5-0 rout of Adama Ketema.
The win took them above St George on goal difference, in their maiden season in the top flight.

Afolabi, a former Shooting Stars and Sunshine Stars attacker, struck 23 goals to lead his team to the championship. The Nigerian also finished as top scorer of the league.

Okiki described his season as “incredible,” adding that his club was underestimated at the start of the season.
“It was an incredible season for me. I won the league title with Jimma Aba Jiffar, emerged as top scorer and topped it up with best player award. I’m so happy with these achievements,” Okiki told TheCable.

“No one gave us the chance to topple the big guns in the league but we knew what we wanted and reached our objectives.

On his next destination, the striker said, “God knows best, I think it’s time to take my talents to Europe. Fingers crossed. I’m studying the offers I have”.

Education / 9 Signs That School Is Not For You – Where Do You Belong? by Entvibez(f): 1:18am On Jul 22, 2018
We all know that going to school is very good. However, education is not for everybody, some people are better off learning a skill.

That you aren’t smart academically doesn’t mean that you aren’t good in other areas. Try to discover your real talent or skills instead of wasting time going when you don’t have the knowledge.

This article will unveil to you the signs that school is not for you.

If you are facing any of the following predicaments or challenges, they are signs that school is not for you. Just go home jejely so you don’t disgrace your generation in School

Let’s Go!

1. You Scored Less Than 50 In JAMB
The total score for Jamb is 400. So, if you score less than 50 in Jamb examination, it is a pure indication that school is not for you.

Try to discover your real skill as studying is obviously not one of them. Your calling is elsewhere and not in the Education line.

2. You Don’t Have A Single Credit In Your WAEC Result
Another sign that school is not for you is when you have parallel F in your WAEC or you have just 1 or 2 Credits and the rest is F.

As a matter of fact, you don’t even need to stress yourself, just learn a Trade and start cashing out. School no be your way at all

3. Cooking Beans 10 Minutes To Exam
This may seem funny, but it is definitely one of the signs that school is not for you. If you have ever attempted to cook beans few minute to examination, just know that you are wasting your parents school fees.

As a matter of fact, pity your parents and think of the best thing to do with your life outside schooling.

“No be everybody wey kuku go school dey make am for this life” – This is the line Olodo people use in Consoling themselves

4. You Sleep In The Exam Hall
When you start sleeping the examination hall during Examination, just know that school is not for you.

It is an indication that you are doing something you don’t have passion for. You just glance through the question paper and you did not see any Question you are familiar with and the next thing is, you started yawning

So, discover your passion and go for it. This is better than forcing your self to study and end up sleeping during examinations.

5. You Only Read A Day To Examination
Lack of seriousness is when a student start reading a text book or study material a day to examination. Oh! you think this is normal?

Don’t be deceived, it is one of the most obvious signs that school is not for you. Alaye, stop fooling yourself, Get something else to do with your Precious time.

6. Your GPA Is 1.0 An A Scale Of 5.0
This one is actually very powerful. When a student GPA is 1.0 on a scale of 5.0, seriously, it is a sign that school is not for them.

How can you have a GPA as low as 1.0 in the University? Are you breaking melon in School? Stop deceiving yourself, go and learn a trade.

No be by School alone these days, you can be useful elsewhere.

7. You Have To Wait For Other Student To Finish So They Can Feed You With Answers
I know many of you are familiar with this.. If you have to wait for some of your brilliant friends to finish so they can start feeding you with answers, then you need to stop deceiving yourself.

If you have to wait for them to finish their own, so they can start throwing paper with Answers at you to dub so you can write something too, school is definitely not for you.

During the course of waiting for your friends to finish to have your own time, you will have to keep yourself busy by writing the Questions in your Answer sheet and then leave Spaces for Answers so the lecturer won’t suspect you don’t know anything

If this is you, Bros, save your Generation from being disgraced with 3rd Class Certificate, go back home and venture your time on something fruitful.. School is not you way

8. You Always Submit Your Question Paper & Take Your Answer Sheet Home
I actually saw somebody who made similar mistake during my undergraduate days. The question I keep asking is “How can you submit question paper and take your answer sheet home”?

This is a serious one. But once you start making these types of mistakes, just know that school is not for you.

9. Your Only Hope To Pass An Exam Is On Expo Or Sorting Lecturer
If you can’t read to pass an Exam in School, then it’s no doubt, School is not for you.

If you have to Write on a Piece of paper, on your palm or go into the Examination hall with your phone to copy and pass any Examination, you are wasting your time.

If you have to wait behind in School after Exam period when your mates are already Traveling back home to enjoy the Holiday with their family just so you can meet the Lecturer before you pass any Exam, School is definitely not meant for you.

Get something doing with your time before it gets too late my brother/sister.. No dull am.

Thank you for reading.

Celebrities / See How!! Ruggedman Reveals How To Identify A Real Sars Operative by Entvibez(f): 3:41am On Jul 19, 2018

Nigerian ace rapper, Ruggedman, who has been one of the celebrities speaking up against SARS brutality, has revealed how to know the real operatives of the scheme.

He shared a video of himself with some SARS officers and showed the detailing on their jackets, revealing how to know the real SARS officers.

In his words, he said:-

“So back to my mission with the new OC SARS Lagos state, CSP Peter Gana. He said a lot of people have been impersonating and carrying out terrible acts as SARS officials and he showed me how to spot fake sars.

So I thought to share them with my people.

Watch the Video below:-

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K41_DHlVOsU

HOW TO IDENTIFY FAKE SARS OFFICIALS
1. The real Sars have a Red scorpion on their cap and jacket with the number 039 on them.

2. Sars units are only allocated 2 riffles. So if you see any group of alleged Sars officials with more than 2 riffles, they are fake.

RUGGEDMAN TOLD THE NEW OC SARS
1. Without a proper uniform, anybody (including Armed Robbers) can buy black T-shirts and print Sars on them. We need a better way to spot the real ones easily.

2. They need proper mode of identification e.g. Their Name or Number badge should be printed on their Uniform to make tracing them or their station easy.

3. Since they are a special unit with so much negativity around them at the moment, it’s best to get them off the streets for now (unless when a special crime is happening) because the brutalization, extortion, kidnapping and unlawful arrests of innocent Nigerians is too much.

We don’t have a problem with them dealing with confirmed criminals, but treating innocent Nigerians like animals is turning the country into a ticking time bomb.

If you fall victim to the rogue officials, if a video is impossible just try to get a good picture of one of them and contact any of the numbers below:-

1. CSP Chike, PPRO, Lagos – 07065246927

CSP Dolapo, ZPPRO, Onikan – 09071555555

CSP Peter Gana, OC FSARS Ikeja – 08033119661

Just like us, he is also tired of the police impunity. While we wait to see the difference the new OC Sars has promised, the #Endsars campaign is here to stay until our demands are met.

All Thanks to Ruggedy Baba for the wonderful moves, things would change for the better henceforth, we hope & pray

Nairaland / General / Re: See The 5 Worst Plane Crashes In Nigeria That Left All Of Us In Tears by Entvibez(f): 1:51am On Jul 18, 2018
Dana Air (Flight 992)

On 3 June 2012, Flight 992 was headed to Lagos from Abuja when it encountered double engine failure and subsequently crashed.

Minutes into its flight, American Captain Peter Waxtan noticed a problem with one of its engine and immediately discussed the predicament with his co-pilot. However, we would never know why he failed to seek help of an Engineer on board or even check his Quick Reference Handbook (A book with helpful guidelines in case of an emergency.)

The plane lost altitude rapidly after the second engine also failed and crashed into a building in Iju-Ishaga, very close to Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

Unfortunately, the fire that started after the crash could not be immediately put out as there was no water for firefighters or available trucks.

All 147 passengers in the Plane died, while 10 on ground also perished.

What A Sad Collection Of Events

May God Protect Us From All Forms Of Danger This Year

Bad weather and poor pilot judgement resulted in the crash.

The plane slammed into the airport runway on the sad day and caught fire. However, according to reports, many people inside the plane survived the initial impact but died due to the resulting inferno- Port Harcourt Airport at that time had one fire truck and no ambulances.

Bellview Airlines (Flight 210)

22 October 2005 will forever remain a dark day in Nigeria aviation industry.

Flight 210 was on its way from Lagos to Abuja when it suddenly crashed.

There are many unanswered question into this crash: an example is why Bellview airlines hired a pilot who had been out of his job for 14 years (He was working in a farm during that period), and was also shot in the head during a robbery attempt some years back.

The plane carrying 117 people on board crashed at high speed in Lisa Village In Ogun State after it reportedly stalled in midair.

All 117 passengers and crew died in the regrettable crash. Some notable names on board were: Abubakar Hauwam S, the then Ministry of Women Affairs and Haydon Joseph, the then US Chief of the Office of Defence Co-operation in US Embassy of Nigeria among others.

With commercial Air Travel being one of the safest means of transport around the world, also in Nigeria, sadly it has had some of its horrible days.

6. Teniola

Gently, Teniola has begun to penetrate our hearts with feel good music. Songs that make you feel at home and cool off that stress.

Teniola won the Best New act at the Headies, her life has changed since then. Her drama on social media has been quite extraordinary.

5. Niniola

Surprised Niniola is on the list? Nah let’s not be. The “Maradona” crooner had a splendid 2017 and she’s already shutting down 2018 as well.

Slowly, her music has begun to penetrate the ends of the world as she has been getting invites to perform at South Africa and even North America.

Have we forgotten her nomination for the BET Viewers Choice Award. That’s a pointer to the fact that there’s World is listening to her.

Last week, Grammy Nominated act, DJ Snake dropped a remake of Niniola’s hit, Maradona.

4. Seyi Shay

While we saw a dry and boring Seyi Shay at The Headies, she has also been killing it in 2018, released her EP “Electric Package” and it was fire. Especially that “Surrender” single with Kiss Daniel.

What about that “Lara and the Beat” movie in which she kissed Vector?

3. Simi

Still the same old Simi we know. What if we tell you Simi hasn’t released any song this year. Her strategy has been extraordinary this year.

Using the same template Tiwa Savage is using with Wizkid, she had a collaboration with Falz on “Foreign” and also her impact was felt on Adekunle Gold‘s About 30 album. And who else forgot, Simi won a whooping three awards at the Headies.
