Sometimes I wonder which is more practical: Igbos (and that is a few of them) claim to be jews (actually jews by behaviour and not by any genetic stretch) and Yoruba claiming to fall from the sky probably with a thud and actually writing that in a history textbook and teaching everyone. It is even to the modesty of Emeagwali that he did not come home and obtain a PhD, earned or honorary. Why was he addressed as a doctor? This is laughable. You should be charging the persons who address him as a doctor for 'falsely addressing him'. The question you should answer is did he call himself a doctor? If so, is there a charge for calling oneself a doctor? False pretense in itself amounts to nothing, what matters is to which end? Did anybody suffer personal loss as a result of a false pretense?
