Krendo oh just shut the Bleep up. A northerner has nothing to say about militancy in the south. |
yabadabado:Mumu. Your current first lady has moustache and she is not Igbo. Providence will continue to expose all your lies and manipulations in the absence of anything good to say about the Igbos. You can start with posting an Igbo girl with a moustache. Bloody retard. |
nattyman:So football is now all about strength and not about skills as well? Na wa for some opinions. The German female footballers are the best in the world and I wonder if they eat Akpu too. |
bk.babe97y:If you are bigger and stronger than me, you need not even choke me in the first place because I would not cross your way except your are a deliberate or serial choker seeking to choke out anyone even when unprovoked. lol |
Emeagwali is 'father' of the intenet much as Mungo Park 'discovered' River Niger When Mungo Park ''discovered'' R Niger, his fellow white geographers or sailors did not pull him down. Now Emeagwali ''discovers'' the internet and is being pulled down by his own countrymen? You still wonder why blacks are underdeveloped and perpetually so? |
snowdrops:No doubt about that. Nigeria is the land of bribery. Otherwise you are expected to present your NYSC certificate when you make the application in the first place; not as an after-thought that allows time to bribe those responsible. |

bk.babe97y:Speaking figuratively. Moreover, any smart guy will move to get off your hold once you leave to hold and move to choke. You got only two hands and you must choke with both. |
Aigbofa:No. What I do not get is the double standard in all of this. |
Aigbofa:What is the meaning of Dr Emeagwali when any slowpoke can get a honorary doctorate degree from anywhere in the world? Even some becoming ''Prof'' without the prerequisite qualifications? |
Meldrick:Buhahahah! Lets see you succeed then. Loser. There is a saying that a wrestler who holds another wrestler down is also down. Both are down; not so? |
Do these names and their claims ring any bell? -Prof Gabriel Oyibo and his almighty GAGUT formula -IBB- who exagerated his contribution to the civil war -Prof Uwemedimo and his Comandclem claiming to have discovered a paint product worth billions that Mobil Oil company used and refuses to pay for -Prof Chike Obi who claimed to have found an elementary proof to Fermat’s Last Theorem. -Yabatech that once (looks like they have changed it on their website now) claimed to be the third oldest higher institution of learning in the world and first in Africa -Dr Abalaka who claimed to have found a cure for AIDS -Another Nigerian (names forgotten) claimed to be able to cure AIDS with orange juice -Prophet Joshua claims to be able to cure everything -Thousands of our lawyers, doctors, academicians, politicians, school teachers, civil servants, private sector executives and staff all hold one false certificate or another -Take a look at this FAKE man who practiced law for many years before he was caught http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?t, 00902223264739 -We still remember the Toronto certificate saga of our former Speaker Salisu Buhari, and Tinubu's legal battle with Fawehinmi on account of a fake Chicago certificate of Tinubu's. - Even Prof Iwu's certificates were once questioned, as are those of the current Controller General of the Nigerian Customs - Was Obasanjo not said to hold a Higher National Diploma? Pray, tell, from where did he obtain it? |
oyb:Either that or a bloody co-shariarist to a bloody religious bigot as Buhari. Make your pick. |
DapoBear:So the problem of some of you guys is not even that he claimed what he is not. It is that others call him by any title they wish? Talk of clutching at straw. |
Hamid O:Who does not have a negative side? Certainly not the Igbos? But why should I talk about my negative side when somebody was already doing so out of malice? |
DapoBear:And where did Emeagwali claim to be a prof? Some of you just join the fray without a good grasp of the facts. Please show me where he claims to be a professor in science. |
Meldrick:They lost the war in 1970 and you are losing the war today. Now tell me you do not have 419ners, cannibals and ritualists in your own society? The fact that they are alive after losing the war and now, by far, surpassing your arse in every human endeavour is enough blessing. |
DapoBear:Do you agree that both Achebe and Soyinka do not have MA, let alone PhD degrees? Do you agree that it is questionable how they became profs in Nigeria with BA degrees? I know that in the USA, a prof can be defined ranging from the meaning of it as we Nigerians see it, to an instructor or even anyone professing anything. In that case, both Soyinka and Achebe are okay with the title they bear. But here in naija we know what a prof means. Now tell me, did both men first become profs in naija or abroad? If abroad, I rest my case but if in Naija, then questions should be asked as to how BA degree holders became profs |
oyb:Bantering words with an avowed Saraki arse-licker is not worth the trouble. When you and your thieving Saraki family leave Kwara alone we can talk some more |
Leave Emeagwali alone: Soyinka and Achebe do not have PhD degrees. Who made them profs? Can we see the documents with which they became profs? Nigeria is such a shameless country. Many of its leaders and citizens have one fake degree or another. Many have fake age declarations. And still many more are fake in their daily lives. Who made Soyinka and Achebe professors without a PhD? I doubt that they even have MA degrees. So let who is free cast the first stone on Emeagwali. Some motor park touts and fraudulent people have honorary doctorate degrees bestowed on them by equally shabby academics/university administrators. On a second thought, they should investigate him so that by so doing, all the sore anuses of all those who go by forged documents will be opened. They will see a lot of placards in court asking for a probe of everyone that matter in Nigeria. silly, jobless federal government. |
koastar:You who know your history but cannot play football. What can your tribe do better except wallow in ignorance and in envy and hate? Anuofia |
Stop guessing; the answer is simple. Igbos are the best in everything good in Nigeria. They are the brain box, they are the brawn box. Remember they also produce most of the beautiful girls in Nigeria pagents to the extent of representing other states. They also lead in Nollywood. So, until an Igbo leads Nigeria, the country is doomed to continuous failure. oyinda.: |

Actress alleges assault by Lagos Speaker’s aides By Sesan Olufowobi Tuesday, 9 Nov 2010 Ufuoma Ejenebor Nollywood actress, Ufuoma Ejenobor, on Monday alleged that she was battered by security men and aides attached to the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, on October 29 on Lagos Island. Ufuoma is nursing two broken nails and fighting to regain her belongings seized by the security men. According to her, the items include a gold necklace, Gucci wrist watch, Ipod, Blackberry Bold and Channels sunglasses. She claimed that her Nissan Xterra Jeep marked UC 189 KJA was damaged, saying that she would spend N595,000 to repair the vehicle. “My Apple Macbook Laptop fell during the ransacking of my car and the screen and the disc compartment were destroyed. “My Louis Vuitton bag was also damaged while my wedding band was broken,” she said. Ufuoma claimed that on the day she was assaulted, she left her residence in Lekki and was on her way to Gbagada when she met a traffic snarl on Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue. The actress added that she had through her lawyer, Mr. Obinna Ukawoko, written a letter to the Lagos State House of Assembly over the matter. “I think it was about 3pm Suddenly, I noticed that a black Toyota Hilux truck which has Escort as its registration number, squeezed its way on my right side. Suddenly my jeep was hit violently, damaging the right fender. To my utter shock, the driver did not stop.” But Ikuforiji has denied the alleged assault by his aides. According to the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Mr. Lanre Odubote, “Ufuoma was the one that constituted herself into a nuisance to the speaker’s convoy. “It is not true that her letter was ignored, we are addressing it. I don’t know what she is up to by going to the press. She was the one that refused police intervention. “She rebuffed all entreaties made to her by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr. Lateef Junaid. But we are addressing her issue and we will make our position clear to the public,” he said.

Nigerian admits stealing £20,000 from Marks and Spencer Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font Shola O’Neil 09/11/2010 01:20:00 image Aruoture The story of his life took a turn for the worse last July when he was arrested for stealing from a store where he worked in Scotland. Delta State-born Onome Aruoture is facing trial for embezzling over £40,000 (about N10million) from his employers. SHOLA O’NEIL examines the case against Aruoture. A Delta State-born Nigerian living in Aberdeen, Scotland, Onome Aruoture, 32, has owned up to stealing £20,000 (about N5 million) from British retailer Marks and Spencer in Aberdeen. He was a sales assistant at one of Aberdeen’s largest shops, the St. Nicholas Centre Branch of Marks and Spencer before nemesis caught up with him in July. Aruoture, who lived at 653b George Street, Aberdeen, before his arrest in July, is standing trial for embezzling over £40,000 (about N10million) from his employers over a period of several months. Aruoture attended the Dom Domingos College, Warri. He passed out in 1994. He is believed to be a scion of a prominent family in Delta State. He was listed among the 2009 graduating student of Safety Engineering and Risk Management degree from the University of Scotland in Aberdeen. Online sources said the Nigerian was arrested last July after an investigation was launched at Marks & Spencer’s branch at St. Nicholas Centre, Aberdeen, following the discrepancies in the books over several months. It was gathered that about £40,000 allegedly disappeared from the branch in Aberdeen during the period. Sources close to the suspect, who is in detention, told our correspondent that he was just a few weeks away from a planned return to Nigeria when he was arrested by the police. Meanwhile, reports from the Aberdeen Sheriff Court at the weekend indicated that Aruoture confessed to embezzling just half of the missing cash (£20,000). The prosecuting Sheriff Annella Cowan was quoted by the Evening Express as saying the sentence would be deferred while reports were prepared and proceeds of crime hearing would also be fixed. Aruoture’s countrymen and former students, who spoke with our correspondent, lamented the incident. They said it would damage the image of Nigerians living abroad as well as put other law-abiding Nigerians under intense scrutiny by security operatives. |

Emeagwali may have hyped himself into trouble but any sane person will chose him over all the others you listed above. I will rather have a leader with an over-bloated ego than a thief and a corrupt leader. |
Before election day, we would be having like 10,000 aspirants, most from the North. |
Why do we blame Emeagwali for exaggerating his achievements? Is what he did not typical Nigerian? |
Jakumo:I believe you do not expect all Igbos to be university graduates. I think they have enough graduates already. Thousands of them are jobless in Nigeria after graduation. Moreover, the secondary level drop-out rate has no impact on their level of graduation in Nigeria. The JAMB records attest to that. I think they have a good balance of educated versus artisans versus business (traders) persons. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=536032.msg6982544#msg6982544 |
