I still maintain that Buhari has nothing to offer this nation save to fulfil his age-long ambition to become president and remove the toga of a serial failure from his psyche.
The same way your father died without fulfilling his vision because he didn't believe in it. Please do not follow such antecedent: Nigeria will be great again.

This bastard is still alive! He should be ashamed of himself for loosing to PMB despite his public reiteration that Buhari can never become a President. Though I am neither a psychologist nor sociologist, but do we need an oracle to know that the common phenomenon in every social class is 'conflict of interest'?

Is there no conflict of interest in PDP despite being an opposition party? A husband and wife that always agreed on a particular issue without having a different perspective would no doubt given birth to 'zonmbie'. I expect Okupe to know more than this.

There is no perfection in marriage: it is a University where no student can never graduate. This is why it requires great patience, utmost faith, perseverance, openness, respect, discipline, maturity, flexibility hardwork, etc. In other words, marriage is meant for MEN and not for BOYS.

You got it wrong.
Becoming a member of ICSAN broadens your knowledge of the law.
It is not all about law: One's knowledge will be broadened in Corporate administration and governance, company law, corporate and financial accounting, and corporate secretaryship.

In short, it is a fast means of becoming dynamic professional especially in administrative and professional field.

Really love this thread.. Am an HND holder in Office Technology and Management, a graduate member in NIM, also a graduate member in IPDM. I wanna hear the opinion of people that are practicing already and who might have idea about what roles you take when you belong to certain professional association.
I believe becoming a member of ICSAN makes one multi-functional. u can be an administrator, u can fit in HR, and also in Accounts. Cos i see from some peoples post that they have the orientation that the word secretaries in the Name of the Institute makes one a chattered typist and shorthand writer..
Do you have a contrary opinion to that? Just lemme hear your view.
ICSAN qualification is quite different from secretarial line which put more emphasis on shorthand and typewriting. The programme will equip you to be more versatile and dynamic especially in the administrative, secretarial and clerical aspect. You will also know much about the knity-gritty of any organizational governance and boardroom politics either private or public.

However, you will be able to interpret and analyze financial statements and accounts, and thereby becoming financial literate.

You are right, its most times a stepping stone to future positions. A secretary who remains same for years and retires as same, is one without ambition. A secretary who has worked in Accounts dept, can start a new career in that line, by acquiring Accounting certificates, as well as a Secretary in HR, Admin and other depts.

Throughout my years of working as Sec/PA, l worked for Admin and Hr departments, having known that no matter what, a secretary can hardly be promoted to head depts, l started a career in Human Resources Mgt...Today to the Glory of God, l work as HR/Admin Executiv. Definitelty if l decide to leave here today, l can easily get a Manager position in Admin or HR departments.
It all depends on our ambitions in life. For now, l cant go back to Sec/PA jobs, though l enjoyed the days I worked in those capacities.

@Yimiton
You made a valid point.
I also encourage every one of us to have career goals, God helping, we shall all achieve our dreams!
Can you please shed more lights on how you crossed over? I am a trained Secretary with Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators' qualification. I have reached the peak of my career in the Secretarial and administrative line. I am now much interested in becoming Human Resource Specialist.

Can you please try to give me much explanation on the way forward? Looking forward for your prompt response.

Career › Re: How To Resign From A Bank When You Are Still Owing by Ephemmm: 11:52am On Jun 26, 2015
betafuture:
I am sorry to bring my own problem to this thread. I need an urgent advice. I worked in a New generation Bank as a full staff for 8yrs and I rose to the level of cash management officer. I had always worked very dilligently with full dedication to my job. In 2013, my Dad was critically ill and we needed to send him abroad and we needed money. I was not qualify to obtain a loan from the bank since I still had one running. I then approached a registered money-lending company ( from whom I had borrowed money in the past and pay back), who lent me N500,000.00 with a total interest of N160,000.00 making N660,000.00 for 6months. Meaning I will be repaying N110,000.00 monthly for 6months. That was on October, 2013. I was to commence repayment on October 26th. The lender did not take any physical collateral, they only took a guarantee from one of my junior coleaque, a lady who was very loyal to me. She issued an undated cheque signed, why I gave 6 posted cheque to be presented for repayment on salary day. Of course, my salary could comfortably accomodate the debt.

On 17th of October, I authorized a wrong transaction that resulted in a loss of USD15,000.00 to the bank, and concidentally, it was posted by this same Teller. I was summoned to Head-office on 19th of October, my Account locked, kept in Head-office till January 2014 and refused to pay salary, eventually, I was sacked in the first week of January, 2014. The lady was also summoned to Head office and suspended for a month but resumed back.

The bank paid me no entitlement and since then, I have been on the street. I have a family to run. I was in the system till January 7th 2014, yet the last salary received was that of October, 2013. As a result of this, I could not meet my obligation to my lender. They contacted me through phone and I explained the situation of things to them.

Since I left the bank in 2014 January, Life has been seriously unbearable. Infact, myself and my family have gone through serious hunger! I had tried to get another job, but to no avail. I had try businesses, but for lack of capital and other factors, it has not really work. I have been leaving like a pauper. My wife is not engaged. She has HND in Accounting, , I discovered she is not employable. I don't know why I did not notice that through courtship. I guess I was blinded by love. I wish to help her overcome the challenge, she does not seem to see it as a problem and besides, she beleive there is nothing she can do to solve it. The problem is that she cannot read. i mean she cannot read at all. I still wonder how she managed to graduate. She is a very beautiful and look classical and executive. She cannot also converse in English. She cannot write.

Now to the loan issue, because of my financial situation, I have not be able to repay anything from the loan. The company keeps calculating and adding interest on monthly basis and they stopped contacting me. They wrote a stinker to the bank regarding my guarantor. It was written to HR and HR passed it to the branch manager. I was called and wrote a letter to the lender to give me a little time, yet they did not stop harrasing the young lady and blackmailing her. Last month, they were in her office and they had to force N40,000.00 out of her. This is a lady on a salary of N120,000.00. She cried as she paid the money. This month again, they will be going to her office tommorrow, to force money out of her. Meanwhile she had a shortage in the course of the month, she had to pay 60,000.00 from her own money. I am jusy tired of the whole stuff. Now, they are claiming the whole outstanding amount now is N1.2million because of the interest they have been calculating.

Meanwhile, one of the newly appointed Honourables in the national assembly just offered me an appointment as a Legislative assistant, I never know what to expect, but I understand their salary is not much.

Pllease, I need your candid advise on how to solve the whole issue, most especially that it should not cost the lady that assisted my out of trust her job and embarrasment at work and also how I can handle therepayment considering there new intimidating figure and they keep mounting interest on monthly basis. Thank you.
Hmmm.... I don't know what to say, but have you informed the Most Senior Advocate? No matter what may be your matters, He is the only one that can settle them.

Glory be to His name in the highest!

I said earlier, Egypt and Tunisia and other arab countries didn't just find themselves where they are today until a statement was made.
What do you know about governance that you are blabbing about? Can you please explain 'equality' and 'objectivity' among the Nolan's principles of corporate governance/administration in public service?

The thread is of Osun, create a new one for the other States owing. Aregbe has failed and his people are calling him out. Period. Go get other states to call out their governors.

BTW, you can keep insulting, it's who you are and how you were raised.

Several states owing doesn't make Aregbe right... There be states that ain't owing.

Wouldn't reply u afterwards, ethno-political blindness requires spiritual cleansing, so can't help you.
It is not a surprise that you were not talented when it comes to reasoning: May be your brain needs scanning and lamination is what I don't know. Logic requires deep mental horizon and not opening mouth and be talking like a sex-starved individual.

While I am not here to justify aregbe's actions, please remember that states in your region with much allocations and internally generated revenue still owes, yet you have not open a thread to condemn this for once.

Continue having orgasm on my post: you will soon get sense.

I want to believe u are not from osun. and if u are, u must be supporting the actions of the state gov. leme tell u, osun is reliant on allocation to sustain it. in truth, its not good but its the bitter fact we av to stomach. it has a big population to cater for. these civil servants we talk of. when they receive salaries, they don't go to ibadan or Lagos to flex their money. they spend it here. the self employed, market men, masons, bricklayers and even the bank get the money. it revolves round the state. we are not like ur place where u can to some extent afford to keep quiet even when not paid. and its not as if we av accepted our situations hook, like and sinker. condemn bad governance. these gov need be put on their toes. they spend recklessly. they av been advised before now. I personally don't like okonjo because her policies are harsh for the Nigerian populace but yet, she was right as regards spending by the govs. open a thread, speak for ur state and if osun news bores u, ignore but don't criticize those that condemn the gov cause we av our points.
I don't know your exact point, but who told you other workers whose states are owing always move out of their respective states to flex their monies too? In fact, the fact that you have stomach should be an indication that they have stomach too.

Whether you like Okonjo Iweala or not is none of my business, but instead of all these incessant comments from her, have you asked yourself the extent to which she has diversified our economy as a Minister of Finance for about six years?

Condemn bad governance, but don't make it seems selective because it will only make you subjective instead of being objective. In other words, what is good for goose is also good for the gander. It takes you less than 5 minutes to create an objective thread: get the fact.

Osun is not yours alone, I was born and brought up there: it is ridiculous how you exaggerates as if we don't have other states who are in the same shoe.

God bless Nigeria.
