If there was actually such a device,where would it have been connected,cos there's even no such provision in a phone's hardware.

Find my device is a tracking app that comes by default on most Android versions now but you can also install it from Play Store. Its a Google app built into Android to help people find their lost devices if app is installed and enabled. The only downside is it works only when Internet access is available on device and factory resetting device will render it useless.

This confirms my initial thought that there's actually no such thing as a tracker for android phones.

Someone was in my office this morning to enquire if I could put a tracking device on his android phone,I told him I have never heard of such thing on a phone.

What's the model of your laptop, and also locate device manager and see if USB driver have been installed (USB 3.0)

I'm using Hp15 Laptop. I checked device manager and I saw "Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller-0100(Microsoft)".

Does it mean the driver is installed?

Ordering battery was on my mind o, but there are several models of the batteries out there,so I'm a bit confused.

But I think the BN41 battery is for the RN4 MTK...or what do you think?

Use another USB cable first.

I've tried several original cables that came with the phones,yet the problem still persists.

Although I recently downgraded the OS from Win 10 to 8.1,that's when I started having this issue.

I'm having the same issue with my RN4 MTK version since last year after either June or August update.

Even after several OTA updates the problem still persists.

This mostly happens when the phone driver fails to properly install on the pc.

Here's what to do:

Try another usb, then another port on ur pc.

Optionally, you can use Xender connect to pc. It equally does the job.

I have tried everything you stated,apart from connecting with the Xender part, and nothing still works.

BTW,all the usb cables for the various phones I tried including the one I use on my Redmi Note 4 were all working properly before I downgraded from Windows 10 to 8.1.
