EducationUnilag: “why Babalakin Wanted Vc Out Desperately”- Source by Erib2(op): 12:11am On Aug 15, 2020
A source has said Dr Wale Babalakin was bent on sacking UNILAG VC to pave way for his practise of awarding contracts to himself and his cronies.

The source who was close to the administration of the University of Lagos claimed Babalakin, who is the University Governing Council Chairman, and the embattled Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe fell apart after the latter rebuffed Babalakin’s several attempts to take over the headship of the University’s tenders board in breach of the law, TheConscienceNG reports.

Our correspondent gathers that relevant laws guiding the administration of the citadel of learning stipulates that the VC chairs the tenders board.

“Whoever heads the Tenders Board wields enormous influence over procurement and awards of contracts in the University administration. This is why the Chairman wants the Vice Chancellor out to enable him have total control over contracts in UNILAG.

“Moreover, it is Dr Wale Babalakin’s practice at any institution he heads to take forceful leadership over the Tenders Board even when it contradicts the Law, ” the source told TheConscienceNG.

Meanwhile, the Senate of UNILAG has expressed support for the embattled Vice Chancellor, Professor Ogundipe and condemned his purported removal.

EducationUnilag Crisis: New Revelations Expose Babalakin On Falsified Votes by Erib2(op):
Fresh revelations emerging from the UNILAG crisis have exposed Dr Wale Babalakin, the ProChancellor of allegedly falsifying voting results.

From the analysis of the votes received by TheConscienceNG as claimed by the Pro-Chancellor to have sealed the fate of the embattled Vice Chancellor, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, there are obvious discrepancies as six of the voters insisted they had voted in favour of the Vice Chancellor, leaving only 5 valid votes from the 11 votes declared by the Pro Chancellor.

As members of the governing council that voted at the emergency meeting began to speak up, it can be deduced that majority voted against the removal of the vice chancellor which led to the UNILAG crisis.

PoliticsConfusion: Buhari’s Ordered Probe Of Nddc Unsettles Ize-iyamu’s Campaign by Erib2(op): 9:26pm On Jul 18, 2020
The recent order given by President Muhammadu Buhari for a coordinated probe of the activities of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is unnerving the campaign of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the September 19 gubernatorial election.

Mr. Saturday Uwuilekhue, the former commissioner representing Edo State on the board of the NDDC, who is the conduit, is said to be on the run over the billions of naira he looted from the commission, some of which he has channeled to the APC candidate’s campaigns on the directives of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, former national chairman of the APC.

Recall that Uwuilekhue had indicated interest to contest for the governorship ticket on the platform of the APC, but was asked to step down by Oshiomhole.

Uwuilekhue is reported to have diverted funds meant for NDDC projects in Edo State, when he served as commissioner, including the money approved for the construction of his street, Aifuwa, in Upper Sokponba area of Benin City, which has since been abandoned.
