I stay in Ondo and I just finished my youth service and currently, I’m staying with long time friend(We’re splitting the rent) till we are able to find our way. Something happened last week Friday that has brought a little misunderstanding (We don’t flow like before) and I want your opinion.

Okay, so I went to my work, I work from 8-5, sometimes 6 and that day, my girlfriend called me and said she was around the house and wanted to wait and see me, I told her it was fine that I would be back soon. I went back later to the house and I met her, my friend wasn’t around then. The house was very neat, but I knew she was the one who swept it, so I didn’t ask. But one talk led to another and she told me it was that my friend that told her to get broom and sweep the room. When she said it, I wasn’t so cool with it because I felt he didn’t have that right to tell my girlfriend to sweep the room. Even if she wanted to sleep it, I should be the one to tell her and not my room mate. I told him and he didn’t see anything wrong with it and insisted that I didn’t like it and he shouldn’t do it next time, because I found it a bit disrespectful to myself and my girlfriend. Since then, he hasn’t been so cool, we talk but not like before. Did I overreact? Do you think it’s okay or wrong for my roommate to tell my girlfriend to sweep the room?

NB; I do not tell my girlfriend to sweep the room when my roommate is around, so it doesn’t bring “see finish “ so, she’s never swept in his presence before, but she does it when he’s not around.

Also, he has his girlfriend that comes to the house too and I have never told her to do anything like that before. So, what do you guys think?

What your room mate did was wrong, he doesn’t have any right to ask your girlfriend to sweep the floor.

That was plain rude and disrespectful to you.

If anything, he should direct his opinion to you and not your girlfriend.

Don’t give up, you have taken the right step by admitting your weakness but don’t let it consume you.

What you need now is dedication and determination to quit all these bad habits and trust me, it can be done.

Engage in other productive activities that can take your time away from watching porn and consider using the money spent on betting into something that can create other streams of income for you.

I don’t know about you but I take my spiritual life seriously.

I am a child of God and I pray to Him for help and He has been faithful.

In essence, you have to really put in the work and hand over everything into the hand of God for only Him can pull you through.

Don’t worry if you struggle and you fail at first while you are at it but the strategy is to keep persevering till you break free.

It is not how many times you fall but getting up from it that matters.

A step at a time will lead you to success.

If you read the topic of the thread and then read the original post itself it makes very little sense. I expected to read a clear account of what happened, why a marriage of 10 years ended, why he has to go back to Naija to join the kids (I thought the kids moved as dependents too) etcetera.

Our official language as a country is English, we are schooled in English Language from primary to tertiary education, our local newspapers are written in English Language, our national news is broadcast in English Language on most TV stations. The least we can do as a people is communicate in basic and simple terms that are clear and easy enough to understand.

I wasn't joking when I said that entire post induced a headache and I am still wondering how he passed IELTS. The British government shouldn't even be subjecting us to IELTS having colonised us and for the reasons I gave above, but people like the OP's friend give them cause to. And that is why mediocrity thrives as against excellence.

Lagos is a very terrible place to do business. Go to lagos after you have conquered other states, then, maybe you'll be strong enough to pay off targeted touts at your business.

The day I swore to never live in lagos was the day I spent over 8 hours in traffic after rain while coming back from work simply because of one tiny porthole on the road. I have this decision bothering me. I know it is a personal problem, but I believe everyone need some guidance at every point in life.

Straight to it, I have been considering Japa for over two years now and I think the opportunity might be here but I am having a cold feet.

I recently started working for a foreign company as a software engineer and the pay is decent when converted to Naira. Enough to live an averagely comfortable life. But my challenge now is that, I have been talking to some friends that are outside the country and they keep telling me how life is not easy there and cost of living is super expensive out there.

I currently earn $3000, which I plan to either save and travel or startup a business here in Nigeria. Please, Nairalanders with experience, is it worth japa to live an almost average life for almost the rest of your life or investing here in Nigeria and growing wealth?

The healthcare and quality education benefit is there as an advantage for japa though.
