A 30-year-old man, Segun Olawoyin, has been arrested for molesting the 16-year-old daughter of his friend at Mapara Makogi, Ibafo, Ogun State.
The suspect allegedly committed the crime at the residence of the victim’s parents while they were attending a church service.
His arrest followed a report by the victim at Ibafo police station, that the suspect came to their house on the said date, at about 1:30 p.m, asking for her parents.
She stated further that having realised that her parents had gone to church, Olawoyin grabbed her and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.
In an attempt to rescue herself, she gave the suspect serious bite, but he still had his way.
On interrogation, the suspect who confessed to being a friend to the family of the victim, claimed not to know what came over him that made him do such thing to the girl who always saw him as her brother

The Delta state police command has arrested two persons, including a prominent Abraka herbalist, politician and chief, Kings Okpako aka Kuti, in connection with the ritual killing of an 18-year old girl, Favour Ogheneyenrowho.
The corpse of Ogheneyenrowho had been found tied up in a ‘Ghana-must-go’ bag and dropped at a refuse dump site behind Ozoro Park in Abraka on June 18, 2019, with her pubic hair shaved off.
The police had been on the trail of Henry Ikechukwu, who is Ogheneyenrowho’s boyfriend, with whom she was last seen by her older sister, Maureen. .
He was eventually tracked down and arrested on 28th of June, 2019 and upon interrogation, he confessed to have invited the deceased for an outing on 17th of June, 2019, from where he lured her and handed her over to Kuti.
He said the herbalist gave him the assignment to get the deceased for him. According to him, this is the third lady he has handed over to him (Kuti), but the first death recorded so far

The wife of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly global senior pastor, Modele Fatoyinbo, Sunday said the rape allegations against her husband were untrue. “Not even as an unbeliever will my husband rape someone,” Mrs Fatoyinbo said during the church service broadcast and monitored from inside the Lagos branch of the church in Ikeja, Lagos.
But Biodun Fatoyinbo stopped his wife from talking further about the rape allegations.
Modele’s denial of the allegations is a re-echoing of her husband’s Friday statement. “I have never in my life raped anybody even as an unbeliever and I am absolutely innocent of this,” Fatoyinbo said in a statement posted to his Instagram page on Friday

The Director-General of Grand Evolution, Gab Adah, one of the numerous support groups for Governor Ben Ayade, has been kidnapped.
The victim was kidnapped in the night of Thursday by suspected gunmen.
The DG, who was a former member of Cross River Land Use Committee, was said to have left Bricks Cafe located at Parliamentary in Calabar where he was relaxing.
An eyewitness, who gave his name as Michael, said the victim was whisked away by gunmen at Efio-Ette roundabout close to the cafe.
According to him, “He was driving home from Bricks Cafe, near the Ayade power plant at parliamentary before he was double crossed close to Efio-Ette roundabout by gunmen who took him away.”
When journalists contacted the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Irene Ugbo, she said the victim was kidnapped on Thursday night but that the police was yet to be informed officially, “Police has not been informed officially but I heard about it,” she stated

An 18-year old girl identified as Favour Ogheneyenrowho kidnapped by suspected ritualist has been found dead in a Ghana-must-go bag with her pubic hair shaved.
The incident happened at Abraka, Ethiope-East council area of Delta state.
According to the Nation Newspaper, the victim’s remains were found at a dump site behind Ozoro park in the town.
Witnesses said there were violent marks around her neck area, indicating that she was violently strangulated.
Recounting the incident leading to the teenager’s demise, Maureen Sunday, her elder sister, told the police that Favour, had received a call from a male at about 10 a.m, requesting that she met him at the Abraka park.
She, however, replied the caller that she was going to the market with her elder sister.
Miss Sunday added that on their way out of their residence located along Winners Road, a young man, whom she had never seen before (whom she believed was the same person that called her sister earlier), stopped at the junction and approached them.

As more people continue to use popular agricultural pesticide, Sniper to commit suicide in the country, the National Food, Drug Administration Control (NAFDAC) has ordered agro-dealers to withdraw the product from open markets and supermarkets.
NAFDAC’s Director, Veterinary Medicine and Allied Products Directorate, Dr. Bukar Usman, disclosed this on Wednesday at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan.
Usman, speaking during the launch of a new herbicide for cassava farmers, “Lifeline”, by UPL, Sprinfield Agro and IITA, said that the agency had asked agro-dealers to stop the sale of the product in open markets and supermarkets.
According to him, sniper is an agro-cultural product meant to be used only in the farms and not for households.
He urged manufacturers and dealers to cooperate with NAFDAC to mop up the 100ml size of the product which were cheap and easily acquired.
He maintained that the directive was not an outright ban of the product but a restriction of its use and availability to farms alone, adding all agro-chemicals meant for farms should not be used in households.

Alhaji Abubakar Y. Suleiman, the lawmaker representing Ningi central constituency at the Bauchi state House of Assembly has been elected by 11 out of 31 members as the speaker of the state’s 9th Assembly.
Suleiman was elected by members loyal to Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, Daily Trust reports.

According to the news outlet, he was nominated by Babayo Muhammad representing Hardawa constituency and Jamilu Umar Dahiru, representing Bauchi central constituency.
They were seconded by Bakoji Aliyu Bobo, the member representing Chiroma constituency.
At the sitting, Ahmed Kawule, the member representing Zungur Galambi constituency was also elected as deputy speaker after he was nominated by Babayo Muhammad, and seconded by member representing Lere Bula, Muhammad Lumo.
However, the election was rejected by lawmakers loyal to former governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar who were not at the Assembly complex during the election and inauguration.
They rejected the emergence of the new speaker when they arrived and decided to hold a parallel election in front of the Assembly complex.
Consequently, they elected Kawuwa Damina as the speaker of the House.
Meanwhile,Legit.nghad reported that Bauchi state governor, Bala Mohammedon Wednesday, June 12, disclosed that a state of emergency would soon be declared in educational sector in the state.
Mohammed said the state cut off marks are the lowest and transition from primary to secondary is the lowest in the country because of the poor quality of teaching.
