Not very often, in my experience. It rarely does. But when it does, replace with a genuine part, and you'd be good to go - I don't know the cost for your vehicle but the used part I got on ebay was $64 (shipping inclusive). Something I've seen fail multiple times is always the secondary air pump or its relay. It's usefulness is subjective, so I and a couple of my friends have learnt to live with the CEL

"I and a couple of my friends have learnt to live with the CEL"
This is another part I don't understand. By CEL, what do you mean?
Car Talk / Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by Essont(m): 8:31am On Apr 19, 2019
Okay, my question is how often does the MAF fails and how much does it cost. Let me see if I can deal with it.

Thank you for your support thus far bro.
Eddee:

Nope, buy your car but try to avoid Chinese or clone parts for Mercedes benz. Its always a 70-30 gamble. So many people will swear on Tibao parts, but I've been unlucky with them. From speed sensors to even wheel bearings.
Car Talk / Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by Essont(m): 7:47am On Apr 19, 2019
So as the kazeem advised I stay away from, I should just source for another?

I thought that thing is just a buy, plug and play thing base on the numerous pictures I saw of it on AliExpress.

Thank you for the clarification, I will seek further for better options.

Eddee:

Baba Essont, you go buy- you go buy tire. Nurey is right, passed through hell sourcing for a working unit for an 06 S430. Finally got a used working part from ebay.

My local mechanic is warning me against a w202 C200 with air flow meter, please is that really something I should be scared of? Can someone explain what the MAF is and how frequently does it fails? How much is the cost?

Is it something I should be bothered about?

I am about making this choice, please someone should respond to me, i don't want to make a choice of first car that I will regret!

M111 in w202s
shortgun:

Which engine?
Mine is 3.2l M112 and I use Mobil XHP 20w50.
Car Talk / Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by Essont(m): 1:54pm On Apr 16, 2019
So which do you recommend as an alternative to the Mobil 1?

shortgun:

Am not trying to convince any1 mate ...I know my car like the back of my palm, why spend over 30k servicing an engine that is not more than 50k in the market top down.
Doesn't make economic sense.
The worst is that one will still buy fake oil labelled as Mobil 1.
This what they won't tell u.
They will ask people to revert to Mobil 1 without putting into consideration the history of the car. For Gods seek we don't have a freezing whether here.

Viscosity is notated with the common "XW-XX." The number preceding the "W" rates the oil's flow at 0 degrees Fahrenheit (-17.8 degrees Celsius).
The "W" here stands for winter, not weight as many people think.

The lower the number here, the less the oil thickens in the cold. So 5W-30 viscosity engine oil thickens less in the cold than a 10W-30, but more than a 0W-30.
An engine in a colder climate, where motor oil tends to thicken because of lower temperatures, would benefit from 0W or 5W viscosity.

The second number after the "W" indicates the oil's viscosity measured at 212 degrees Fahrenheit (100 degrees Celsius). This number represents the oil's resistance to thinning at high temperatures. For example, 10W-30 oil will thin out at higher temperatures faster than 10W-40 will.

Best response ever. God bless you my friend. Please can you give a quotation of how much the pump and rack may cost?

Thank you once again bro.
auhanson:

Honest opinion: if that steering pump issue has been there for sometimes, definitely its gona affect the steering rack too, you can confirm this by thoroughly inspecting the steering rack for any sign of leakage(the steering rack terminate into the two front tyeroid else if you just change the pump , you might still have stiffened steering then you know is time to change or fix the rack too, else you would be running in circle of always changing rack and steering pump till you are fed up (bad rack destroys the pump, likewise bad pump destroys the rack and vise versa) At that price believe me both of them are in for it . Working it is not expensive but you must do the two after your inspection of any leakage on the rack, so that you don't run into this circle of repair.

If you dont want to inspect it, you could also do a run up with the car at a higher speed , if you feel the steering shaking couple with too much play at the wheel, the steering rack is definitely bad, you may do well too to physically inspect the tyeroid too because both could have given in as well.

I bought a w203 c240 too , a very clean one in and out in the real sense of the word, but i was surprised at the extend of repairs i was subjected to if i had to keep it to my test at the factory level, cos i don't drive anything less in any of my cars. It's unfortunate that most Nigerians(99%) don't maintain cars, so expect the worst, and at that price you can close your eyes and fix them up, then you will never have any need for further repairs, as for these cars when you fix it once appropriately they last almost a century. You only need to make up your mind whether to buy it or not.

Meanwhile that's the picture of my changed rack. However, i changed the tyeroid ends as well.

Whichever one of the models you finally settle for, please avoid the automotic drive. The ones with the manual stick are less problematic and cheaper to maintain.

Wow.... Interesting, saw em ads so cheap so it got me wondering. What the problems are.

At least 3full charge and a half (50%)

I've used it to charge my note 5 (4000mah) twice, Lenovo Vibe P1 (5000mah).

So Xiaomi 2c power bank is really reliable.

Got mine from macbeyland..

My only advice, never charge it with tiger generator, and if you do it won't perform well.

How much?
