PoliticsRe: Say No To 'NAIJA' - Akunyili by esuaitken: 12:49am On Nov 17, 2010
huh After these riffraffs have stolen the country blind they think that Naija's problems lie in what it's being called? What cheek? What is offensive is the funds being siphoned away by the ruling kleptocracy in broad daylight. Give us a break Puuhleez !!!!!

We have Nigerian legislators fighting during sessions at the House of Representatives Chamber and she has the gall to try and define what can be deemed 'offensive'? The governance of Naija as a whole is offensive.

Please, What kind of yacht is this that they are thinking of? And what is the exchange rate for Naira to $.

Just saw this yacht (not what they are looking for but it got me wondering that if this one is so 'cheap' what are they thinking of getting):

It is stupendously plush but nowhere near the 3.3 billion naira being touted by 'the Nigerian Navy' who have neither the technical savvy to maintain or run anything more than a speedboat . BTW  does Obama have a yacht? We should stop this lunacy , and possibly try to pay salaries of, come to think of it - The Navy guys themselves !!!!

We must really be stupid , or doesn't democracy exist in Nigeria? Which  panel, commitee is going to approve such a purchase?

Are we to believe that this request is from the Navy or from Goodluck Jonathan?

I feel the initiator of the idea should be identified firstly , then we can take things from there.

4 billion for a yacht? Might be good value but if GJ commences the building of even 3 COE (Centre of Excellence) medical facilities immediately I'm sure the 50th Independence celebrations and the citizenry will be all the better for it.

Why is it that when constructive things are to be done the money is not available , but when it's some crass frivolity, there are no such bottlenecks?

[b][b][b][b]There are a number of perennial issues that Dagrin's demise has brought to the fore once more. lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

Once again the proficiency of the Nigerian health system and government hospitals will and should be called into question. Was there adequate trauma care where he was treated? cry

Why do I know that we will still hear that a stationary or broken down vehicle caused the death of another person. The Police patrols should have identified the vehicle as a serious hazard and arranged for it to be removed immediately. cry

While we grieve, let it be known that all the politicians, oil bunkerers, dodgy businessmen, bank execs and their miserable ilk who are milking and cheating their way through the system whilst they plunder and steal the nation's resources and money are responsible indirectly for the death of another rising star. angry

Possibly and perhaps if the money that is being stolen/looted had been applied to where it matters and is needed most rather than the personal bank accounts of the miscreants that claim to be guiding Nigeria's direction, this as well as the myriad of deaths that occur daily in similar circumstances may have been averted. angry
