brainpower: The problem is that a lot of "internet enlightened" Nigerians believe we are like America without religious and tribal sentiments. First of all, if you really want change, you need someone that has something to offer and so far Buhari hasn't shown that he has moved with the world to the 21st century with his ideas and we know that most of the time, the president sidelines his vice during decision making. Buhari is still dependent on his past glory as incorruptible even though I don't believe he is. Who says Fashola is the best? And to think of giving him petroleum minister so he can give all the contracts to Tinubu? Fashola is an elitist governor, a lot of lagosians are living in slums and poor conditions. Fashola's education policy is close to zero so his govt doesn't have the poor in mind. For you to even mention Oby shows that most APC supporters are elitists supporters. Go to the registration centers and count how many rich and enlightened people are standing in queue to register just to vote next year. You will find the commoners waiting and standing while the rich will just enter their cars and drive off. As for Oby, in the East and especially the North, they don't really place women in high esteem, so imagine the sarcasm when they see a woman coming. Pat utomi will make a good candidate, cos he looks like he has something to offer. Atiku and Pat utomi or donald Duke or even Peter Obi as vice will go a long way. I agree with some(not all tho) of the points you raised. Quite insightful. Thanks. |

99100: Well , i mentioned the late Yakowa because haven been a resident of the state from 2000 until early this year , no doubt i should know more about the state than any other state.
His wonderful achievements was laudable. Even his enemies testified to that.
What makes you think Gov Suswan, gov Elechi ,etal aren't performing well ?
Have you been to their states.? Forget hearsay ,most of this governors u mentioned are loved by their people.
A governor mustn't blow his trumpet just to prove he is 'doing well' .
Right now i reside in Imo .It will surprise you to know that the Rochas i see in Imo is no where compared to the late governor of Kaduna state.
Yet he did his work silently without blowing his trumpet like the Rochas and co.
It is said that when a lie is repeated many times that it has the potentiality to become truth.
Haven said that ,contrary to ur claim that Kwankwaso and co left due to the rot and wicked policies of PDP ,I tell you NO .They left as Labaran Maku would put it due to their oversize ego. Let me repeat myself ; They couldnt withstand the tranformation GEJ emergence brought to PDP. Suswan? A state where workers are not paid for 6 months? And primary school students at home for one year? Abeg talk another thing. I can see how you cleverly dodged T.A Orji, Uduaghan, Wada etc.Or those ones are loved too? FYI, I don't just get my info by hearsay, I travel a lot. I also have friends and relatives all over the nation from whom I get details concerning their locations. Pls I'm not a party person. Separate PDP issues from Nigerian issues. I care less about the Pdp. I care less about Pdp and care much about Nigeria. Unfortunately, the GEJ transformation is 'steal as much as you can..........on the condition you pledge loyalty towards my re-election'.......In his words : Ordinary stealing is not corruption. Do you have anything to say about that? |

Chai, honestly your cluelessness nor get riva l, I swear! No they aren't, but not as remorselessly lawless as the pdp. Apart from that, most APC officeholders try to curry the people's favour by embarking on developmental projects upon resumption of office. This goes a long way to boost their credibility and win over some of the aggrieved electorate,,even when the process that brought them in isn't 100% transparent. But same cannot be said about the Pdp.As soon as they are sworn in, its impunity galore till the next elections. When one sees how poorly these guys have performed, it can only be termed a tragedy if they get a second term....and they mostly always get it with landslide rigging victory despite the ubiquitous evidence of gross misgovernance, heartlessness and palpable hatred/disdain from those they govern. My prior comment was not meant in any way to offend or provoke you,so I see no need of resorting to the bolded. I was just bewildered by your earlier comment, cos from your post history, the pdp can do no bad, despite their atrocities. |

Kutunban: Its so pathetic that your opinion is based on tribalism and religious bigotry, which you claim is not the yard stick for this inconsequential post of yours. Wrong. If you read through my post properly I mentioned 'all-inclusive/participatory' politics meaning, significant involvement in governance with every tribe well represented by able and selfless technocrats (not just polticians) resulting in a truly homogenous nation. The tribal ish you are talking about is a product of your imagination. You can't deny such ticket is a competent one in terms of good governance, while it also dispels the Pdp-inspired smear campaign that portrays the People's General as having an islamisation agenda. Mind you the performing governors you mentioned are products of PDP. Whose fault is it that they discovered how treachrous and self-serving pdp is and they decamped to a platform that support quality service to the people. Pdp is all about sharing money among the chieftains while the govs compete amongst themselves on who can loot the biggest amount within the shortest possible time. May I enlighten you, the Buhari you APC always refer to as her candidate shows how corrupt it will be and biased its going to be if opportune to win 2015 election. There are other Presidential aspirants in APC that bought the same form with GMB, but APC always make them third class candidates, even the facts the parties primaries has not yet taken place Is it the people's General's fault that he is soooo popular, that loyalists are campaigning for him without pay? I for one, have never met him, but I'm convinced about his capability based on his past records as Head of State, Head of PTF and NNPC. Also he is modest, disciplined, reslient and most importantly corruption-free. I'm sure he will never approve a budget of N1.2Bn for his food or prepare a budget of N970Bn annually as SCAM subsidy payment. If you enjoy the governance of your lord and saviour in Aso rock so much, then better relocate to Otuoke and begin sensitization campaigns for him to be voted the Mayor of Otuoke n 2015. [s]Talking of bringing a woman from the South east to divide GEJ votes its just a fantasy you are drunk with, because using a south east woman to deceive the region shows how gullible the APC will be because I believe the Igbo people are smarter than you think.

With the performance of the likes of Akpabio of Akwa Ibom, Yakowa ,the late governor of Kaduna ,to mention but a few all in or from PDP , your dubious claim that no PDP governor is fit to lace governor Fashola's shoe becomes laughable. Really? So the late governor's achievement when he was alive in 2010 is the proof that pdp is performing in 2014? Aren't there living pdp govs? They are all hated in their states by the ordinary man. Only their cronies, co-looters and political touts hero-worship them.THIEVES !!! Why didn't you mention Idris Wada, T.A Orji, Uduaghan, Elechi, Mohammed Aliyu, Gabriel Suswan? That's exactly what Moses did, when he grew up. (Hebrews 11:24)By faith, when Moses had grown up,he REFUSED to be known as the son of Pharoah's daughter. 25. Oshiomhole is one guy I respect a lot, having witnessed the transformation of Edo state after years of misrule by Igbinedion and Osunbor from 1999 to 2008. Within 3 years, Oshimohle achieved more than the previous 9 yrs of PDP misrule. I was schooling in Benin then. Fashola is another performer. No Pdp governor is fit to lace Fashola's shoes. I have heard (and seen on TV) a lot of good things about Aliyu Wammakho of Sokoto and Kwankwaso of Kano but I can't conclude on hearsay, cost I haven't been to these places. How about Rochas in Imo. I always watch his press conferences on AIT, where he intimates his followers on recent developments, the next line of action, etc. I was at Owerri in September and I was amazed. The beauty of the city is amazing.Same thing with Orlu. How about Ogbeni Aregbesola? While I admit that there is more to be done, the APC govs are angels when compared to their PDP counterparts. Take for example, the recent Ebola scourge that threatened to ravage Nigeria. The swiftness and commitment of the state govs ( Lagos and Rivers) played a big part in the containment of the virus from spreading further. Imagine if such had happened in Abia, Kogi, Ebonyi or Delta. It would have been a different story today. |
