I just got a notification from the Embassy to schedule a follow up appointment; I clicked on it and it gave a Tuesday next week date, for only my son. It looks like the delay is for him to be “tenprinted”…he turned 14 last year.
Any good news today? Interview waiver appointment or Issued visas?

Well I understand. I dont even have any friend doing US for the first time. But I believe there are people here that are first timers but they will keep quiet. No contribution, only to be silently reading lol

If the last visa was in the old passport then you would need to submit both the old passport and new passport. They wont collect the old passport if the last visa wasn't there.

My thoughts exactly. I mean how is it possible that they book and hold on to all dates while the genuine people can't succeed in scheduling their appointment. It is just sad because people keep patronizing them that's why they will continue to flourish

Lol yours was fair sef, when I went to drop my passport, the touts were insisting I make copies of all the documents. I didnt even try to respond, I just kept on walking.

At the end of the day, none of the paper documents were collected. Just my passport and one passport photo.

They only need to sight the paper documents to be sure you applied, you paid the visa fee and were scheduled to come drop your passport.

Let me share my experience yesterday. The guy approached me immediately i alighted and asked if i had all the documents with me. I, of course, ignored him. He then became a nuisance and followed me about listing the documents...I'll quote him "you need the following documents, DS160 page, visa receipt, passport, 2 passport photos, coloured photocopies of DS160 and datapage of passport. It's coloured copies they are collecting o. Let them not send you back.".
I knew the Consulate wasn't insisting on coloured photocopies...but i didn't make a copy of my datapage and that gave me a concern. So i asked him of the cost of making a photocopy...he replied "N1,000 for coloured and N700 for black and white per page". Since i was submitting for myself, wife and kids...i felt it was waste of money paying N4k for just 4 copies...He kept shouting "they will send you back o...you will have to get another appointment". I screamed back at him "back to sender"...lol

Alas, no one asked for either coloured copies or even a copy of the datapage when i got in to submit....

Let's ask all our questions here...i'll rather sound stupid here and get an answer than rely on an agent or a tout who is just after personal gains...

Well to me o US visa is easier than canada. I think the fact that no document is required, just your confidence and psychology makes it easier in my opinion. With canada you would submit heaven and earth and they can still deny you. The main work for canada is in a good SOP.

The truth is that getting Canada and US visas is not that easy but a lot of people are still getting it.

Put your chance of getting it at 30 : 70. If you package your application well then you might be lucky to be among those 30% applicants whose applications are successful.

Try your luck because you never know

To be honest, nothing is cast on stone. I know someone that didn't have good ties, asset and been to only Dubai and ghana but got visa.

Everything is grace and favour. People are only advised to do their best by presenting a good application.

Thank you greatly , though my friend is a red seal electrian working in a coal mine and own personal house but I don't think I met all you analysed above , I have them partially . My conclusion is to hold it until I have stonger ties and travels elsewhere before I shoot the shot . Thanks for your time .

You can't be doing same thing and expecting a different result. Now you have more to prove to explain 1. Purpose of Visit (how well established is the person and is he willing to back you with documents) 2. Travel history (where have you been to recently not 2012 that's too far away) 3. Current employment (did you submit enough company documents like CAC, Tax, bank account/ invoice transactions to show your business exist etc) 4. Personal asset and financial status (what do you have as home ties eg landed property, car, how much flows in your personal account not just the balance).

Get someone like Justwise or Frank to help review your current situation and see how it can be repackaged else high chances are you get rejected again.

You have not satisfied me you will leave Canada then tick .. Purpose of visit l 1st and 2nd , same reason in the third attempt but tick Purpose of Visit ,travel history , current employment, personal asset and financial status .

The email was directed at those for interview waiver. I dont think it is applicable to first timers

Check your DS160 confirmation page and see the date the form was filled. If it’s earlier than August 2021, then fill a new one so as to update your travel plans. A new DS160 number will be generated, this should be inputted in your Interview date appointment portal via the “update profile” option…

Why don't you just go to your bank and request for MBS irrespective of the amount in your account. You wont need to be worrying about how to send statement and it is more acceptable too.

Call firstcontact ASAP if you recently just make a deposit to your Visa gold card? most times it take 48hrs even days before they acknowledged the payment, the money will reflect in your account but you won’t be able to use your card with the money.

I started the admission process last year when the lockdown was so serious, around April, but could not get LOA due to the fact that I was unable to get my transcript...by the time I could lay my hands on it in July, 2020... Admission don finish...I was told to change my course for the ones available in January 2021, but I decided to wait it out till Sept, 2021.

2021 came, I received my LOA on 1st of June, after a deposit of 265o, okay...wuruwuru, I combed 'inside and outside'...I came up with this few documents and submitted...then backed it up with midnight prayers, afternoon prayers, church prayer points, morning prayers, anywhere prayers...I prayed all through the process o...because if it by documents, I did not even submit half of what I'm seeing here

1) for first time applications, leav it blank

2) from your LOA, there should be tuition stated in it, so is Tuition+10,000 + others ( flights and miscellaneous)
So be looking at Tuition+10,000+ 3000

3) for national identification, I used international passport and driving license. So why not use either. My opinion though

4) yes.

5) write your name where applicable, put date and validate it. Please do not print out and sign and scan back.

Hello pls I have some questions that I need clarification. This is my first application. Any of the questions you can answer would be appreciated so I dont make mistake.

1. On the form there is a place for UCI number. Do I ignore it?

2. When filling the form for school fees and funds available for my stay. Do I put the balance amount with me as funds available after paying school fees or total amount? Out of 12m total, paid first semester 3m, balance is 9m.

3. For national identification. Our NIN doesnt have issue/expiry date. What do I fill here?

4. For purpose of Visit I selected short term studies. I tot short term study is study below 6 months but mine is a 1 year graduate certificate program.

5. How do I sign the forms

I got admission for supply chain Management in humber for jan 2022. Yet to apply though for SP. I have been confused on the online /in person delivery mode. I have sent a couple of emails to clarify the delivery mode because I don't want online but they dont give straight answers. I wont pay so much to still end up doing online class from lagos.

Same with mine (first bank). What I did was create new account in StanbicIBTC send the equivalence to the account, fill their form A, within 5 days or less, I was debited and flywire was funded. Same day flywire sent the money to my school and tuition receipt was generated.

Go open an account with sterling bank but I'm still of the opinion that if you visit another first bank branch, your payment will be processed.
