Love is life. i see nothing wrong loving a married man. By the way what is LOVE? who created love?

Men its very possible for the millitery to plan a coup, but how will Nigerian react? what will be the benefit if it?

For me its not gonna work b/cos it will be a great lost to nigeria. by the way how will the international body view it?.

In what is regarded as a new dimension in the allocation of special telephone numbers in Nigerias telecommunication industry, Glo Mobile is giving its subscribers the opportunity to acquire the memorable numbers in an auction sale.

The twenty special numbers, otherwise called vanity numbers, will be offered for bid to both new and existing subscribers from now until the end of June 5, 2006.

The numbers which are part of the new 0807 range launched by Glo Mobile two weeks ago include 0807 7700777, 0807 7000007, 08077654321, 0807 7123456, 0807 7000000, 0807 7999999, 0807 7077077, 0807 7007007, 0807 7070707 and 0807 7999997.

The rest of the vanity numbers are 0807 7222222, 0807 7333333, 0807 7444444, 0807 7555555, 0807 7666666, 0807 7888888, 0807 7555557, 0807 7111111, 0807 7575757 and 0807 7555777.

Explaining the auction process, Globacoms Head of Consumer Marketing, Chris Ehimen, said Glo Mobile customers would bid for the lines by sending a text message (SMS) stating the preferred line and amount to be paid to a short code 32000 while bidders from other networks should send the SMS to 0807 7500000.

A subscriber who is interested in 0807 7222222 and who wants to bid N20,000, for instance, will simply send 0807 7222222, N20,000 to either 32000 or 0807 7500000depending on which network he is sending the message from. The highest bidder for each vanity number wins it. Subscribers will receive a message intimating them of the highest bid for each number, Ehimen stated.

He added that each of the twenty special numbers comes with an attractive package. Each SIM comes with N1,000 monthly airtime for one year, giving a total of N12,000 free airtime for Glo to Glo calls, he said. The SIMs can be activated either as a prepaid or postpaid package, depending on the preference of the subscriber.

Winners of the auction sale will also qualify automatically for the next draw in the Glo Jumbo promotion in which prizes worth N500 million are on offer. The prizes include 180 cars, 180 power-generating sets and cash prize of N200,000 to be shared by eight subscribers daily in the 180-day period of the promotion. 10,000 subscribers will each win N750 Glo to Glo airtime per month for one year while 1 million others will win N100 airtime each.

Glo Mobile recently launched the 0807 number range following the exhaustion of the 0805 series introduced at launch in August 2003. The new platform, the company said, gives millions of subscribers wishing to join the Glo network the opportunity to be accommodated. There are currently over 7 million subscribers on the Glo Mobile network.

Information reaching Mobile Africa indicates that Vmobile Nigeria might stop offering its WAP and MMS for free, from the 31st of January 2006.

Though VMobile Nigeria's website has been silent about their WAP & MMS offerings, Mobile Africa can confirm that the service has been available for free to its prepaid subscribers since the fourth quarter of this year.

The only indication that VMobile Nigeria was GPRS-enabled has been its annoucement of Voffice as a new bouquet of value-added services from Vmobile, comprising Vlink, Vmail, and VMail plus and Vfax. This bouquet affords its users the ability to send and receive data via the Internet in a faster and more dependable way.

With the Voffice Suite and a CSD/GPRS-compatible device: mobile phone, PDA, PC, or laptop, enables its subscribers to enjoy:



Network Connectivity Solutions – mobile connectivity to the internet and the corporate intranet/LAN.
Enterprise email – SMS-to-email; Email-to-SMS solutions.
Personal Information Management – synchronization of personal information (Calendar, Tasks, and Contacts) between the office computer and the mobile handset
Fax Services – Mobile Fax Solutions
Currently, prepaid subscribers can use their GPRS mobile phones to access WAP sites. The WAP service is activated by sending "wapgprs" to 184 while MMS is activated by sending "mmsgprs" to 184

The Over-the-air (OTA) setup is then sent to the subscribers mobile.

Glo Mobile trailed the blazed with GPRS when it launched its 2.5G network. Currently, all the GSM networks in Nigeria are GPRS-enabled. Mtel and MTN have announced their intention to upgrade to 3G (UMTS/WCDMA), next year.

Latest survey rates Glo best network Glo Mobile has again been rated the best GSM operator in the country by a new audit of mobile telephone service providers in Nigeria.


A summary of Network Audit for Lagos State in June published in August-September 2006 edition of IT Edge, a leading IT/Telecom news magazine, showed that Glo Mobile emerged tops in the performance indices of the research carried out by IT Edge Intelligence Unit and Next Technology.

Glo Mobile which started operations two years after the other GSM operators placed first on the table with an overall score of 37 out of a maximum 45 points. Vmobile had 33 points, MTN 31 and M-tel 24 points. Glo Mobiles score is an improvement on the last survey in which it had 34 points, but still finished tops. A total of nine test categories were used in assessing the performance of all the GSM companies, with Glo Mobile emerging first in all. These include Signal Strength, Call Success Rate, Call Drop, Voice Quality to Downlink, Voice Quality to Uplink, Successful Recharge, Successful Enquiry, Value Added Services (VAS) and Call Centre Operations. The company came second in the ninth test category, Call Success Rate.

Segun Oruamen of IT Edge Intelligence Unit explained that the survey statistics were based on feedback from subscribers across the networks as well as call centre operators. Next Technology also has a team of engineers which monitors network signal strengths.

Yes Dr Okonjo is a woman of respect. Among all the women in Nigeria, she is the only woman I love so much. She is very intelligent and beautiful and the woman of integrity.
