I was reading through travel section and came across ur message. This is my first comment on NL and I have to do this because I knew exactly what u were talking about...my younger brother's wife was in the same mess and I knew exactly how he resolved it. The first step is to inform the agent to write a letter in support of ur application stating what happened and for him to accept all the blame...let him show a regretful acknowledgement of the offence. The second step is to tell ur wife to write to her local MP how she is mentally disturbed about what happened to her husband and u can now attach the reply of the MP to ur spouse visa application. Also I would like u to note that ur spouse visa will be treated separately from ur visiting visa...u are a partner of a British citizen and that qualified u for spouse visa. The chance of getting the visa is 50-50 and even if the application is refused u will definitely be given an option to appeal and ur wife can now represent u at the tribunal. I am 100% sure that if u follow this process u will be with ur wife soon. Best of luck bro
Thanks a lot for the comment and time will start doing so..appreciated

Hello NL,
I need advice and inputs on how to go about my issue the right way..
I gave my passport to an agent in 2012 to apply for schengen(France) and he insisted that I needed To beef up f passport as it was too bare and I could get a Kenyan visa on it to increase my chances.. I told him to go ahead without investigating that Kenyan stamps were given at POE.i didn get the France visa and didn bother. Fast forward 2013 and I applied for UK visa and decided I wasn't using an agent and would just follow the rules.i used the same passport(didn know the Kenya visa was fake) and applied for UK in Abuja. I met all d requirements and was keeping my fingers crossed..it began to take too long and I sent them a mail only for them to respond that my passport had been impounded and would be sent to NIS as they were investigating the Kenya visa and believe it to be fake. Now am married to a UK citizen and want to apply for spousal visa and need to know what steps to take.

A lengthy post cos I want honest and fair opinions..no need to critic and start unnecessary talks if it's not constructive..the agent in question has admitted his fraudulent act and all lessons has been learnt .

So just advice on way forward please...cc@ justwise and all the experts

been reading and still following up,

just to give update on my decision so far as per giving birth in Yankee, after careful review and timeline my DH and I have decided to just jejely born the pikin( issue) for naija, I tried registering with the hospital in dallas I chose but my contact there was so busy and with the case of applying and securing close appointment date seeming impossible I didn't wanna risk paying a hospital 1k dollars for registration then begin speak phonetics after for refund, seeing as I didn start the process on time.

so my people any mamas recommend good hospitals in lagos ( am thinking of going with premier specialist in VI, grateful for reviews)

Thank you to all who commented and adviced ( lady G and all the other commenters who showed interest and gave genuine opinions, you guys are the real MVP)

I go contact my NL again when I wan tackle this UK embassy people for my settlement visa. Fingers crossed.

thanks abunch

jinglesbaby:
Yeah, that preggy momma whose husband is British but was denied UK visa and is now looking to birth in US!
If you can birth in US, by all means do so! Your husband probably got his ' British citizenship by descent' and not naturalisation! So basically, his mum passed it down to him.
If your husband was born abroad and acquired 'British citizenship by descent', any child you give birth to outside UK will not automatically qualify for British citizenship from birth! You will apply for entry clearance first then ILR after!

If ur husband got his citizenship without it being passed down to him, then ur children will be British automatically!
Hey Jinglesbaby, am that preggy mama,

my hubby got it on his own without being passed down to him, but the application process no b here and wish I can apply for the UK visa but time is of the essence hence the need to try the US one, am just trying to put all documents and correspondence in place before I apply.hopefully in time before this LO show.

Thanks for the response your appreciated..@lady G why has thou abandoned me..**sheds a tear***

[quote author=customised87 post=46165508]You would definitely be asked why you want to birth in the US and not the UK where your husband is a citizen of, afterall like madameU said, your child is a UK citizen regardless of wherever he is born. So, the greatest issue here is how to convince the VO that u are truly just going to birth. You may give it a trial. Guess what? Mercy and Favour could just speak for you.

thanks a lot everyone, and Amen for the prayers

I currently don't have a UK visa and like I said to lady G, the process of getting it isnt favourable for me at this time,i guess Ill have to look for a way to convince the VO that its really just to birth there, if I had my UK visa I would most certainly prefer to go there.
truly appreciate the comments and responses and will just try to get everything in place for the application.
have gotten a doctor in texas that has given me some correspondence and MIL is sending her details as well as paying some of the hospital cost like pre registering and all,

hopefully I give them a convincing enough answer as to why am not going to the UK to birth ( I haven't thot of any answer other than I no get uk visa and time is off essence)

I pray it all goes well as I do not have another alternative.

LadyGuinivere:
Hmmm. Your mom and husband are UK citizens? Do u have any kids here? What job do u do here? Do u have a resident permit for the UK? Cos nne, I'm seeing UK as a place where u have stronger ties o!
@ladyG, yes but I had applied some years ago to the UK and they didn't give me, I currently work in HR with a small firm that pays 200k monthly and I don't have a UK visa or permit. this is my first baby hence the reason MIL is insisting we do yankee and she and my hubby can come as she plans to be there around my due date.

I wanted to go and give birth and return here and then start processing the UK right to family life visa and that takes forever so now what do you advise cos I really want to submit the application but wanna do it right this time.

LadyGuinivere:
Hmm Nne this transcript is bare o! I dey seek but I no dey find. You were Asked how much you earn but u no state am here. Anyways since I Do not know the specifics of your personal circumstances, I'll just generalise the advice. How much is it going to cost you to birth in the us? Do u have that amount? Do u have anything left in your account afterwards?
You said your MIL wants to foot your bills? Does she have a visa? Have u considered applying with her and hubby stays behind? Because I'm thinking if she's sponsoring and you will go with her statement its good to show for her to show face and establish how 'close' una dey.
Cos if she transfers within a short period to you, it may raise a red flag . Darris what I'm thinkin #infalz the bad guy's voice
Yayyy thanks for the response lady G..
To answer your question my mum and hubby and UK citizens and are not in naija.am the only one here but my sister in law has family in the uS and they wanted to use that opportunity to all see the family.am the only one without a visa and also the only one that requires a visa.they have agreed to attach copies of their passport data page to show they don't need visa.ill get her to transfer as soon as possible and yes if she pays the bill we will still have some money left

candyce:
She meant every detailed questions you were asked by the VO and your answers to the questions asked. That way the people here will know what went wrong and possible advice on how to go about it.
Okay @candyce thanks a lot
Here goes:
VO;good morning
Me:good morning
VO: where do you work and where have you been to?
Me:state coy name and list Ghana and Dubai as countries visited
VO:how much do you earn?
Me:states amount
VO: you want to visit Miami and Las Vegas together?
Me:my husband and I couldn't agree at one location so we intend to stay a couple of days at each and then leave from Miami
