Swedish international striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has confirmed that he will leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

Top Nigerian Gospel Artiste, Frank Edwards has announced the upcoming release of his collaborative album with Veteran Gospel Legend, Don Moen.

Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON), the nation's sole government approved collective management organization for musical works and sound recordings, steadfast in its recent promise of an unprecedented show down with copyright infringers and royalty defaulters in Nigeria, has filed a N16 Billion law suit at the Federal High Court in Lagos against telecommunications giant, MTN, for copyright infringement.

This is the biggest copyright law suit ever in the continent of Africa with 18 separate claims endorsed on the writ supported by a 43 paragraph Statement of Claim filed by Lagos Intellectual property lawyer, Mr. Justin Ige of Creative Legal. In the suit No. FHC/L/CS/619/2016, COSON has asked the court for six different declarations of copyright infringement perpetrated by MTN in the MTN Friendship', 'Connect' or 'Walk In' Centres across Nigeria; the MTN 'Road Shows' in Nigeria; the various MTN Music Concerts, Festivals, Award Shows, Product Activations and Corporate events; the MTN Callertunez platform; the MTN Music Plus Platform and the MTN Mobile Radio.

Attaching numerous letters written to MTN, COSON in the Statement of Claim stated that it has taken several steps, engaged in massive media advertising, organized various programmes, devoted enormous time and resources in appealing to MTN to obtain the appropriate licences and pay requisite royalties for the musical works and sound recordings deployed by the company but that MTN has behaved as if it is above the law and no attempt made by COSON has got MTN to meet its lawful obligations.

She set out in her teens to make hats; little did she know then that hat-making would make her great. That is the story of Grace Chito Mark. But that was just the beginning. There were huddles; no one wanted to identify with locally made hats until she was discovered by powerful, society folks. “There was this lady,’’ said Grace Chito Mark, “a lady that I will never forget in my life. She became a mentor to me. She is no other person than Aunty Labanella, Hajia Abah Folawiyo, God used her to open the door for me.” Her ‘Graces hat’ became a household name among society folks; even the US First Lady Mrs Michelle Obama, now wears her hat. Grace Mark shares her lifestyle with us, in this interview with Paul Ukpabio.

From just making hats, you became well known among top society folks. Tell us how long have you been in hat-making business?

I have been at it for the past 30 years. That is what we have been doing and God has been helping. Right now it looks as if we have just even started.

How could that be, when you look so young?

That is true. That is actually a good observation because each time I tell somebody how old I am in the business, they start thinking about my age. They start imagining my age considering my looks. But Graces Hat has been there for a while, so it is normal to expect that people will expect an elderly woman to be in charge. I started in 1980 when I finished my school certificate examination. I started very early in life. I was young. That doesn’t also mean that I am as young in age as I presently look.

In song writing, lyrics is one of the most important factor required for a good melody. Every rapper/singer will always want to be unique with lyrics and melody but it has not always been easy especially in the Nigeria music industry.

What do you understand by lyrics as regards song writing
Lyrics are the words sang by a singer. Many musicians tend to write and create a format based on music around them, this is not necessarily a bad thing, but this doesn’t work for everyone. Songwriters tend to approach this skill in different ways.

The National Economic Council, NEC, will hold a two-day Retreat next week beginning Monday, March 21 to March 22. President Muhammadu Buhari will deliver the keynote address during the formal opening session on Monday morning.

You will surely know a real mother when you meet one. As soon as you hear her speak, you would know how motherly she is. Heading into Kwara state NYSC orientation camp with jitters and frights at the sight of stern-looking soldiers and security men.

But to our surprise, awaits a mother who has been specially ordained to give motherly love and care to over 2000 Corps members. She is the camp director of Kwara state NYSC orientation camp, Yikpata in Edu Local Government Area. A virtuous mother cannot be identified just by physical looks but majorly on the qualities portrayed towards someone. Indeed, the Corps members of Kwara state NYSC have found another mother away from home.

Let’s meet our mama – Mrs. Olusoji Olufunsho

My name is Mrs. Olusoji Olufunsho, am married with children. I work with the National Youth Service Corps. Presently, am in Kwara state as the camp director for the current 2015 National Youth Service Corps Batch B stream 1.

Tell us something about your academic career.
I hold a master degree in public administration, which I obtained from Ekiti state university, Ado Ekiti. That was my last station before I was transferred to Kwara State. Then I hold a first degree in English studies which I obtained from Obafemi Awolowo university, Ile-Ife.

Looking at her as a married civil servant, hear what she has to say.
Am married to a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God. He is an Area pastor and he is also a professor in the university (Federal University of Technology). We are blessed with three children and to the glory of God, we are doing fine. Two of them have served the nation and the last is in the university.

Man needs food for survival. Let’s hear what your favourite food is
My favourite food is beans or any beans product. I love beans generally.

What colour do you love the most?
My favourite colour is blue. Blue appeals to me the more. Blue is the colour of love but I see it more as the colour of serenity and peace. By considering your career, what was your first career choice? Well, after my service in 1986 in the old Oyo state where I worked with Radio Nigeria, I took up NDE job. As at then (1987), the chances of getting a job was not really there, thou it was not as bad as the current unemployment situation. After working few months with NDE, I took up a teaching appointment in Akure. After the teaching appointment, in Youth Service Corps (NYSC) as an information officer.

As at the time you got the NYSC appointment, how did you feel about the appointment?
From my background, my parents are from Ekiti state but my husband is from Ondo. Ekiti people believe more in getting government jobs and most of them are teachers. As at then, when you get a job that is perceived as a federal appointment, people feel you have arrived. My parents were both teachers, this made them not to support my appointment as a civil servant. They never wanted me to experience what they passed through as teachers. With this, they struggled to ensure I get a federal appointment. So when the NYSC appointment came, we were all happy that our desired appointment has been met. But somewhere along the line, I discovered that some of my colleagues who took appointment in other sectors were actually doing better than I. I give thanks to God for my position today as I still have success stories to tell.

The management of Ekiti State University welcomed parents and students alike to the matriculation ceremony of the fresh students.

People from all works of life were in the University premises to celebrate with their loved ones who have been admitted into the University to study.

A parent while speaking to a repreaentative of Event News was very thankful to God for journey mercies from Lagos down to Ekiti. When asked if her expectations were met after seeing the structures in the school she said ‘I used to think this school will be just like a secondary school but I’m pleased to see the structures, I even had to take a couple of pictures to show my husband at home’
