MC Anoti is a talented comedian widely known throughout the Northern part of Nigeria. He’s been a sought after MC for so many popular and noteworthy events from across the country. EN: Please introduce yourself

MC Anoti: My name is Oluwanishola Abdulazeez Ogunde, but my stage name is MC Anoti. I hail from Ogun State. And I am a comedian of the Federal Republic of Naija.

EN: How long have you been in the comedy industry, and how did you get started?

MC Anoti: Its been 7 years now; my comedy career started from Secondary School days. I was usually called to perform on all social events because my schoolmates and teachers find me very funny, from there the desire to make people laugh started growing in me.

EN: Who were the first influences on your comedy and style?

MC Anoti: I would say Fat Mike- a father in comedy from the North, and a friend in the industr4y. Mc Freshboy and Crazy Guy.

EN: In your opinion who do you think is the most influential and successful comedian in the industry today and

why?

MC Anoti: I’d say Basketmouth . The guy’s just unique.

EN: What do you think interest people mostly about your comedy style?

MC Anoti: That will be my use of local dialects and stage drama. I can be very dramatic.

EN: If you could choose to work with some of today’s established comedians, to move your game to

the top, with whom would you like to collaborate?

MC Anoti: That will definitely be Ayo Makun (AY).

EN: Which ingredient do you think is most essential in making your jokes and style the way it is?

MC Anoti: Ingredient? Curry abi knor cube? I think I am my ingredient.

EN: Which emotion, more than any other, currently dominates your pattern of jokes? Joy, sadness,

anger or passion etc., and why?

MC Anoti: There’s no emotion I can’t produce at anytime. It goes with what am saying.

EN: Do you think the advent of the internet and all the new technologies has helped your comedy career?

MC Anoti: Of course they have, if not for them you wont be able to see this right now and my future works.

EN: In your experience thus far, what is the best piece of advice in this business you actually

followed? And one you didn’t follow, but now know for sure that you should have?

MC Anoti: The best piece of advice I followed was “DO IT FOR THE FAME, THE MONEY WILL COME.”

EN: Is going Platinum or winning a Grammy important to you, and If you were forced to make only

one choice, which of the two would you choose and why?

MC Anoti: Yes it is, and I’ll love to go platinum, because I’ll love to be heard even on your mind if it’s audible.

EN: What in your opinion is the biggest barrier a comedian like yourself, has to face and overcome to gain commercial success?

MC Anoti: The biggest barrier would likely be women. If you can possess self-control and have focus then you’re good to go.

EN: Why are you the way that you are?

MC Anoti: I am the way I am because that’s how God programmed me.

EN: What is your favorite event in history and why?

MC Anoti: My favorite event is CANTATA (a talent hunt in treasured life Kano), because that was when I was

certified by notherners that this guy is cray.

EN: Ask yourself a question and then answer it.

MC Anoti: If I had to instill one piece of advice in a new born baby’s mind, what advice would I give? “LIVE

YOUR LIFE AND BE HAPPY.”

EN: Do you write your own routines?

MC Anoti: Yeah, I do.

EN: Where do you get your material from?

MC Anoti: I get my material from what people can relate to,what is trending,what people are familiar with.

EN: What happens if they don’t laugh?

MC Anoti: My friends will laugh.

EN: How do you deal with hecklers?

MC Anoti: I let them know how they got in..(FREE)

EN: But aren’t hecklers helping the show?

MC Anoti: They are, because you just have to say something about them instantly.

EN: Do you hate Dane Cook?

MC Anoti: I don’t hate people.

EN: Say something funny.

MC Anoti: Have you ever wondered why bicycles are not always standing straight? Because they are tired.

It has been an awesome event from all accounts as the The Experience 2016 has received a lot of attention both online and in the real world. The Experience 2016 has successfully and incessantly been one of the most remarkable praise and worship events and concert in Nigeria as it is host to so many impressive and fabulous gospel artistes from around the globe irrespective of nationality, tribe and race.

This year’s event was characterized by such breathtaking gospel musicians like: Tope Alabi, Onos, Eno Micheal, Sammie Okposo, Frank Edwards, Segun Obe, House on the Rock choir, Midnight crew, Gabriel Ezenachi, Tim Godfrey, Chioma Jesus, Cece Winans, Smorkey Norful, Donnie McClaukin and grandfather of worship, like he’s most often called, Don Moen.

It was an evening that was better experienced than talked about. The awe that captivated the audience from the moment they flocked into TBS ground at 6pm to when Tope Alabi released them at 5am was tangibly felt. So was the success that was The Experience 2016. The evening started with a colourful ministration by the House on the Rock choir and progressed into soul stirring performances from Onos, Eno Micheal, Sammie Okposo, Frank Edwards and Segun Obe. The grandfather of worship, Don Moen, left no stone unturned in the journey to rendering deep heartfelt worship at heavens gate, with the audience. The thunderous ministrations from Midnight crew, Gabriel Ezenachi and Tim Godfrey left the crowd screaming for more! It was indeed intense.

As the evening glided to a climax, Cece Winans, Smorkey Norful, and Donnie McClaukin showed what it meant to praise God in one accord, inspite of cultural differences. Travis Greene who was visiting Nigeria for the first time, felt interestingly at home on the Experience stage. He shared testimonies and lead the worshippers in a bout of pure and undiluted worship.

The Convener, Pastor Paul Adefarasin was unrepentant in his resolve to preach the gospel of Christ, hence the theme ‘Revealing Jesus’. His love for a better Nigeria could be felt from the various sessions of prayers that were raised for the nation through different pastors of different churches. According to him, ‘Every Christian ought to be multidimensional, with political, economic, social and spiritual influence. Christians should get involved in governance! Our nation deserves, not the worst leading the rest, but the best, serving the rest’

While men slept and complained about economic obstacles, the Experience is continually providing a platform for small and medium businesses to thrive. It was obvious the impact it had on the economy of the state, from the activities that went on at different corners of the TBS ground.

As Chioma Jesus and Tope Alabi led the eager audience in a ground shaking rumble of praise, it was obvious the zeal Nigerians and Africans have to worship. No doubt this would last them beautifully well, till the Experience 2017 comes up. We can’t wait.

The 2016 edition of the just concluded Agra Innovate West Africa event recorded a great success. A lot of deliberations were geared towards building a stronger food and capacity building in the Nigerian Agricultural sector. Otumba Femi Oke, Chairman of All Farmers Associations of Nigeria, Lagos state Chapter was one of the personalities at the event.

Jumia Travel Nigeria has celebrated its 3rd year of doing business in the country and also marked the second edition of its awards ceremony at Intercontinental Hotel, Victoria Island today. A total of 28 Lagos hotels were awarded under five categories namely, Customer Choice, Best Partner Hotel, Best Hotel Partner, Booking Award, and Rising Star Award.


"These hotel awards," said Kushal Dutta, Jumia Travel Nigeria managing director while explaining the rationale for the awards, "celebrate greatest achievements and relationships that not only set the awardees apart, but also strive to create better service and experience for the guests. The objective is to appreciate outstanding performers while creating a dynamic platform for players to meet and interact."

Some of the winners of the Customer Choice Award included, Ikoyi Fairview Apartments; Apartment Royale Hotel & Suites; Jeromes Gardens & Suites; Bluespring Hotel; and Epe Resort. Winners of other categories included Ibis Hotel Ikeja; Park Inn by Radisson; Fahrenheit Loft; Eko Hotel & Suites; and Cumberland Hotel.


Speaking on the performance of the company in the last 11 months, Dutta stated that investment in world-class technology that has improved customers' experience on the company's portal has been one of the greatest achievements recorded so far. He made reference to the Web Progressive App (WPA) technology developed by the company which makes customers spend less time searching their hotels of choice. The technology, according to him, was showcased by Google at the Web Development event recently.


Our monthly traffic grew from 93,000 to 650,000 making Jumia Travel the largest online travel agency in the country." he added.

In the last three years, Jumia Travel has provided an online platform for local hotels, ensuring that both small boutique properties as well as privately owned residences can now enjoy fair display and online presence as with global chains and renowned brands.

Paving and supporting the digitization process of hotels and the adoption of eCommerce has also been at the forefront of objectives set by the company, with 50% of its hotel partners making their online debut via the platform.

It was a beehive of activities this Tuesday, November 1, 2016 as Copyright Society of Nigeria, the sole approved Collective Management Organisation for musical works and sound recordings signed a landmark copyright agreement with Disc Jockeys across the federation of Nigeria.
At the ceremony, COSON Chairman, Chief Tony Okoroji praised the leadership of Disc Jockeys Association of Nigeria, (DJAN) for their persistence in the negotiation which has lasted many months. The COSON Chairman said he was impressed by the determination of the DJAN leadership to obtain the most favorable deal on behalf of their members.
Chief Okoroji said that the significance of the agreement at a time when the Nigerian economy is challenged is that, the respect of intellectual property, which is the cornerstone of the new knowledge economy, is being institutionalized in Nigeria. He particularly praised DJ Jimmy Jatt who has worked tirelessly for this day to come true.
By the agreement every member of Disc Jockeys Association of Nigeria (DJAN), shall obtain a copyright licence from COSON with immediate effect and every member of DJAN engaged in any public performance of musical works or sound recordings shall at the time of such public performance carry on him a copy of his/her current music copyright licence issued by COSON and shall present such licence for sighting at the request of any accredited COSON agent or representative.
Furthermore, no Disc Jockey shall engage in the unauthorized reproduction for sale, compilation for sale, sale or distribution of any musical works or sound recordings. While the agreement protects all licensed Disc Jockeys from the infringement of the relevant copyright in musical works and sound recordings in a public performance, the agreement does not protect any brand owners, corporate bodies, owners of event venues, public or commercial facility owners, whose brands, venues or facilities are associated with the public performance.
The agreement also states that every licensed Disc Jockey shall not engage in the public performance of musical works or sound recordings in a venue or facility not licensed for the public performance of music or in support of a brand or corporate organization which has not obtained the appropriate copyright licence for the public performance of musical works and sound recordings.
Reacting, DJAN President, Mr. Tade Adeyemi, popularly known as DJ Cool described the day as the best of his life. He commended the COSON Chairman for his magnanimity in listening to the demands of the Association while also taking into consideration the Association’s enumerated challenges.
He said ” Today I can categorically say that I am the happiest man on earth because we have been on this for quite a long time and we are very happy that at the end of the day, COSON agreed to some of our terms and DJAN also agreed to some of COSON’s terms. We are highly grateful that COSON listened to us and I am promising that on behalf of the entire DJAN members nationwide we will not disappoint.”

Veteran Yoruba comic Actor and Director, Mr Latin has picked September 21st, 2016 which is WORLD’S PEACE DAY for this years Annual Lecture of Mr Latin Foundation. According to City People Entertainment, the theme of this year’s lecture is, “The Role of Traditional Institutions as a Panacea for Peace, Unity and Stability in Nation building”.

The Mr Latin Foundation is a non-governmental outfit established by the renowned classical comedian cum actor, Bolaji Amusan with the primary aim of enlightening the general public on issues relating to Drug abuse, Health, Marital and Child Rights while empowering the less privileged, particularly Youths and Widows with the intention to ensuring that they have egalitarian society.

The foundation was established with a vision to achieve an egalitarian society where personalities are trained to be self-sustaining and contribute effectively to nation building.

The Comedian Ali Baba would anchor the event that have dignitaries like King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall who is the chairman of the day and grand patron of the foundation, Her Excellency, Chief (Mrs.) Yetunde Onanuga. the deputy governor of Ogun State and Her Excellency, Otunba (Mrs) Grace Titi Laoye-Tomori the Deputy Governor of Osun State are the Mothers of the Day. Guest Speakers are Prof. Akinwunmi Ishola and Prof. Peter Okebukola (OFR). The Board of Trustees Chairman, Dele Odule would also be present on that day.

In his words he wrote: ‘Hi fans, the 6th Annual lecture of Mr. Latin Foundation is set to hold on September 21st, 2016; The World Peace day with the theme; “The Roles of Traditional Institutions as a panacea for Peace, Unity and Stability in Nation building”. 100 Youths and widows are going to receive empowerment on the day with free medical care for all and a host of other events.

The event would also witness the commissioning of the New Permanent office of the foundation which is now at No. 5, Ajegunle Street, Off Abiola Way, Olorunsogo, Abeokuta, Ogun State. The old office was at 20 NUD Road, opposite NUD Primary School, Isabo Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria.

Over the weekend, Amb. Olakunle Churchill added another feather to his already feathered cap as he bagged a Doctorate Honours from ISCG University in Republic of Benin.
The professional institution which majors in communication, ICT, Journalism and other related information courses on 28th of May held their biannual academic programme and awards to honour distinguished personalities who have over the years made a name in the profession and field of endeavours.
While decorating Amb. Olakunle Churchill with the PHD honours and as the newest academic Doctor in Communication Sociale (Faculty of Communication arts) , Vice Chancellor, said that this recognition was one of the highest professional honours in the country which is recognised anywhere in the world.
The CEO of Big Church Group, who had over three engagements on the same day, had to fly private Jet to Lagos for an award, to Otokpa in Benin Republic for the programme and finally Owerri to put up appearance as a guest at Kanu Nwankwo launching of Papilo FC in Imo state.
The former Nigeria Captain Kanu Nwankwo also hosted Dr. Churchill Olakunle for a celebration party in where he was indeed cynosure of all eyes.
