Different Schools give different scholarships though. You would need a complete profile and a high GRE Score. You may or manly not need to write IELTS because Nigeria is an English speaking country.
Your CGPA is high and I don't think you would have difficulties in securing funds.

2020 UNESCO/ISEDC Co-Sponsored Fellowships Program in Developing Countries


The aim of this fellowships programme is to enhance the capacity-building and human resources development in the area of sustainable and renewable energy sources in developing countries and countries in transition.

The training activities in the framework of these fellowships are tenable in specialized institutions in the Russian Federation. The medium of instruction will be English. UNESCO will solicit applications from the developing countries and countries in transition.



In line with the strategy and objectives of the approved UNESCO Programme and Budget for the Fellowships Programme Section, the UNESCO Category II International Center for Sustainable Energy Development (ISEDC) in Moscow (Russian Federation) is offering twenty (20) fellowships of four weeks (4) duration each in 2020.

UNESCO/ISEDC Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme Field of Study.

One month duration: from October 5 to October 30, 2020.

The candidates may choose to study in the following fields of study, which are aligned with UNESCO’s objectives and programme priorities, as per approved 35 C/5 and in accordance with the decisions made by the Executive Board (161 EX/Decision 3.6.3 and 165 EX/Decision 8.6):

Energy and sustainable development;
Ecological management of energy resources;
Renewable energy;
Sustainable and renewable energy power generation.
Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must

Be proficient in English language;
Not more than 35 years of age.
Be holder of at least a BSc degree or BA in Economics;
UNESCO/ISEDC Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme Benefits.

Facilitated by ISEDC
Beneficiaries will be exempt of paying tuition fees for the entire duration of studies/training;
Fellows will undertake studies/training under the supervision of an advisor or study director that will be provided by the host institution;
The donor Government will pay stipends to beneficiaries on a monthly basis, in local currency. The stipend amounting to four hundred and fifty (450) US dollars is intended to cover living expenses such as accommodation, meals, pocket expenses, and incidentals. The donor will determine the amount of the stipend to be granted to beneficiaries;
ISEDC will assist in obtaining modest housing for the fellows.

UNESCO will cover the cost of the round-trip international travel at the most economical rate and the most direct flight.
UNESCO will pay a one-time travel allowance amounting to US$100 (one hundred US dollars) prior to the fellows’ departure for the Russian Federation.
Health insurance. To avail of this entitlement, beneficiaries should be declared medically fit by the UNESCO Medical Service that examines the complete medical dossiers.
Selected fellows from countries where there are Russian Federation Embassies or Consulates must obtain their entry visa in their country prior to their departure. Fellows from countries where no such embassy/consulate exists must secure their visa through the nearest country where the Embassy or Consulate of the Russian Federation can be found.
Method of Application:

All applications should be endorsed by the National Commission for UNESCO and must be duly completed in English or French with the following attachments in DUPLICATE:
The prescribed UNESCO fellowship application form;
Six photographs;
Certified photocopies of Diplomas;
Certificate of English Language proficiency;
Subsequently, for those who have been selected, the UNESCO medical examination form duly completed by a recognized physician (not more than four months before the actual date of studies). The prescribed form of which will be sent along with the letter of award. Expenses incurred in the constitution of the medical dossiers will not be reimbursed.
Files which are incomplete or received after the deadline for the submission of applications and candidatures, and do not fulfil the requirements mentioned above, will not be considered.
Each invited Member State is requested to nominate not more than two (2) candidates.

The Global Sustainable Electricity Partnership (GSEP) has had a long-standing commitment to education. In 2001, the Partnership reinforced this commitment by establishing the Education for Sustainable Energy Development (ESED) scholarship program to support students from developing countries and economies in transition. The ESED program offers master’s level scholarships to outstanding students for a period of up to two years. In addition to the master’s scholarships offered, the ESED program also supports a web-based network of scholars designed to encourage the sharing of information and knowledge among scholars and alumni.

The purpose of the ESED scholarship is to support outstanding students pursuing advanced studies in sustainable energy development and to encourage meaningful contributions to the collective body of knowledge about this subject.

Education for Sustainable Energy Development (ESED) Scholarship Amount: Up to $21,000 US per year (max. two years).

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship, prospective applicants must:

Undertake master’s-level studies in sustainable energy development. Eligible applicants must be pursuing full-time studies for at least one full school year (two or three semesters), beginning in autumn 2019. Students in the second year of a two-year program are eligible to apply, provided that they meet this requirement.
Be a citizen of a developing country/territory on the List of official development aid recipients identified by the Development Co-operation Directorate (DAC) of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)
Be committed to returning to their home country/territory after their studies to contribute to its development
Be an outstanding student
Graduates with excellent grades in the top 20% of their class
Is committed to sustainable energy development
Has a history of community involvement
Is determined to advance their knowledge and understanding
Method of Application

You must provide an electronic copy of all the documents listed below.

Passport (photo page only) or birth certificate
Curriculum vitae detailing your education, work experience (if applicable), awards, and participation in volunteer and/or extracurricular activities
Admission letter from your university program of choice
Upload a copy of your official letter of admission from the university. Please note that each applicant can only submit the admission letter from their top choice of university program.
If you have not yet received a letter of admission, you can upload an acknowledgement of receipt from your university showing that you have applied for admission
If you receive your official admission letter after the scholarship application deadline, it is your responsibility to forward it via email to scholarship@globalelectricity.org by no later than April 17, 2020. If we do not receive your official admission letter by this date, your application will not be considered
If this application is for the second year of a two-year program, please include proof of enrollment, as well as a copy of the official letter of admission. These should be uploaded together in one document.
If the language of your original admission letter is not English, we require a certified translation of the document which includes the name of the translator as well as a copy of the original (untranslated) letter. These should be uploaded together in one document.
Program outline
Upload an outline of the curriculum or the courses you will be taking for your master’s program

University transcript(s)

If this application is for the second year of a two-year master’s program, please include your transcript for your first year
Academic Reference Form
You need to provide a completed copy of the Academic Reference Form. The form must be completed in English.
The form must be completed by a faculty member or professor at your current or previous university who knows your academic abilities
Should the referee wish to send the Academic Reference Form directly to the Global Sustainable Electricity Partnership, they can email it to scholarship@globalelectricity.org by March 6, 2020. If received, it will be indicated in the online application system after you submit your application.
Academic or personal reference letter
You need to provide one reference letter from either an academic or personal referee
The reference needs to be in letterform (with an official letterhead of the referee’s organization, if possible), written in English, and must be dated and signed by the referee
An academic referee must be a faculty member or professor at your current or previous university who knows your academic abilities. They cannot be the same person as the individual who completes your Academic Reference Form.
A personal referee should be a person (e.g. employer, supervisor, mentor, coach) who can discuss other personal qualities or interests that make you specially qualified to receive the scholarship. This referee cannot be a family member
Please make sure that the referee includes your full name in their letter
Should the referee wish to send their letter directly to the Global Sustainable Electricity Partnership, they can send email it to scholarship@globalelectricity.org by March 6, 2020. If received, it will be indicated in the online application system after you submit your application.
