Enough talk about this unawarded penalty, why is each time we lose a very important match as this, Nigerians will be crying that we were robbed. The Argentines were better and deservedly won the match. In this part of the world, i believe we watch EPL matches almost every wkend. My question Now is, is it all ball that touches the hand of a footballer in his box 18 a penalty? He even awarded us a penalty that wasn't clear. Nigerians for once lets face reality and stop deceiving our own selves. |

lexy2014: if rohr was responsible 4 taking Nigeria 2d world cup, then y is he not responsible 4d team's failure at d WC? If d boys are d reason 4d teams failure, they should also b credited with qualifying Nigeria 2d WC and not d coach.
Earlier, I categorized what u refer to as "age long problems facing our national team" into NFF job functions & d coaches job functions. I later asked u, as far as this WC is concerned did d NFF fail in its responsibilities? Did it repeat d errors u listed as age long problems? I didn't get a response from u.
So yes its Nigerians like me that will criticize a coach when his team doesn't do well but its also Nigerians like me that will praise d coach when his team does well. Reason is that d success and failure of d team is d responsibility of f coach. In this case, d coach didn't do well From our respective points given, its a proof that we really wanted the progress & success of the SUPER EAGLES of Nigeria. We hope they do better next time. lexy2014: Let me divide what u have said into two, job of NFF & job of d coach:
D job of NFF 1. Start early preparation 2. Regular friendlies 3. Non interference in player selection Let me add: 4. Prompt payment of allowances
As far as this world cup is concerned, which of d above functions did NFF not do?
D job of d coach 1. Instilling discipline in camp 2. Setting up system 4 monitoring performance of players at home/abroad(4d purpose of selection)
So in d end, u have made it easier to lay d blame on d coach 1. Before the world cup Gernot Rohr went abroad to monitor our players, that was why he discovered the new goal keeper. 2. He even discovered Akpeyi & Ikechukwu. 3. Within a very short time he was up to an extent restored some level of discipline in the team. 4. In less than a year after his appointment he was able to meet his contractual target, by qualifying for the world at the expense of the reigning African champ. I just enumerated nigeria's age long problems faced in the national team. So its Nigerians like you that always call for the head of coaches each time they our boys under performs. And you never see anything good in Rohr's qualifying to the mundial. So please don't miquote me. |

It was what led to the discovery of our goalkeepers both home and abroad an he tried within a very short time. Our players equally have a part to play, they should be patriotic and always give their best to the nation. Cos it seems they're more determined when playing for their clubs. |

lexy2014: by blaming d players, what are u doing? Its u who is complaining about d players d coach carried not me. What is d root cause of d problem? We should start early preparation, stop incessant sacking of coaches, instilling discipline in camps, setting up systems for proper monitoring of our players performance abroad, regular friendlies, non interference of external influence in players selection. I believe if we can do these, beyond the sky will be our limits. Thank you boss |

If a player doesn't play 2 instruction, what did d coach do about it? The world cup is a different ball game entirely. What i mean is that they are our best, but our best is not good enough @ the world stage. The coach can only work with what we have. Yaw yaw, i laugh in swahili. I won't blame the coach, because don't have any quality in the bench. What Nigerians fail to understand is that we don't have a good team. Imagine Victor Moses our best player @ the qualifiers is easily dispossessed off the ball, and falls @ every little contact, the Chinese imports mikel(wrong passes) & Ighalo(blew a one on one) were totally off. Iheanacho(lost a clear cut opportunity) @ a point he was playing against Nigeria, Etebo hold on to the ball for too long, and ended up losing it.
This boys are not serious, imagine in our last match, after Musa scored the 2nd goal, instead of Ighalo celebrating he was busy looking @ the coach to quickly bring him in, and when Musa was about scoring the 2nd goal Iheanacho was busy calling him to pass the ball to him. In conclusion we new our boys were not too good. We were deceived when they defeated the African Champions. We should leave out Ighalo, Onazi and Mikel from the team, and keep the others. |

It all depends on his level of conviction. If he's jobless then the leaders of his local assembly should assist in securing a job for him, rather than being paid by the church. My personal reason is, if the instrumentalist is being paid, then he has received the reward of his services but if not being paid, it mean that God will be his reward. God said that " i'll not forget your labour of love towards Me " we all know the difference between mans reward and God's reward. |

obi4eze: This Gernot Rohr sef!
The match against England changed when we switched to 3-5-2. We defeated Argentina with the same formation. Mikel had no business playing in an advanced role with Iwobi on the pitch.
The Wing backs were not supporting the wingers and Ighalo was isolated in the attack. Ebuehi is a preferable option to Abdullahi.
A 3-5-2 would have choked the midfield for the Croatians and allowed wide spaces during Nigerian attacks while stopping long balls from the Croatians. We would have also had an extra man when defending except during counter attacks.
Going forward, the Icelandic team seem to be better at long balls than the Croats. They have the height advantage and would want to score from set pieces. I was disappointed in the Croats and think that Iceland would want to take the advantage of the draw with Argentina and qualify from the group. There is no time for show by thw SE or useless long balls.
Let's play the African way. We are not good at long balls. We pass the ball around. I will only agree with you that Mikel was played out of position. But saying that Musa & Ebuehi would have been preferable, i do not agree, because Abdullahi was one of our best defenders and very consistent and impressive both in qualifiers and friendlies. While for Musa; he lost form long ago. Even he never made any impact. |

Okocha should keep quiet because he's not a coach. Like Jayjay said, Rohr used similar pattern to prosecute friendlies. As a coach since such formation did not favour him, its the more reason he resorted to a different tactics. We should let Rohr be, afterall we never believed we'll be at the world cup when initially grouped with Cameroun, Algeria and Zambia at the qualifying group stage. And Jayjay should also that his former national teammate, Sunday Oliseh, resigned as National team coach few months to the qualifiers before Rohr was appointed, with a target of qualifying Nigeria at the world cup. |
