Very long journey.7:50hrs to Dubai,4hrs layover and 16hrs to Houston, the plane wasn’t full so I got 4 seats, folded the arm rest and could lie down when I want to. Food was okay, cabin crew very nice. I got my fit to fly from the hospital.they asked for it each time I want to board.Got to IAH , Very long queue at the POE but was moving fast. Cpb: hello Me:good day sir Cpb: your passport Me :gave him Cpb: where are you heading to? Me: Houston Cpb:why are you here? I was there, a short queue but wasn’t moving.after almost 10minutes, First cpb shows up and called my name, Yetunde, please come with me. My heart skipped.he said I’m supposed to go to the secondary inspection first before coming down for baggage inspection. On our way back up, he asked if it’s my first baby inUS and I said yes but I have other children already, then he asked if I was using oakbend and dr F, I said yes oakbend but drZ, then he said he must be new there cos he doesn’t know him.he was very friendly. We got to secondary inspection and he said I should sit, he pointed at me and handed my passport to another cpb,Not many people were there but we’re all looking serious. I sat with one Nigerian lady that we flew together and she wa whispering to me that this place is hot o. I kept a straight face too. After about five minutes, he called me and said let’s go.he took me bag to baggage inspection, on our way, he said make sure you pay all your bills, don’t accept Medicaid, insurance or tip. Make sure you read everything before you sign and get al your receipts. We got to baggage inspection, he took me straight to the front, asked me to go sit down and handed over my passport to the cpb there, who called baggage people to go get my bag, after about 15 minutes, he called me, gave me my passport and asked me to proceed to the custom then baggage inspection, they asked me if I have dried ponmo, I said yes and they opened my bag and seized it and that was all. I checked my passport and saw that I was stamped for 6 months, I didn’t even know the point where it was stamped , like I said I read this thread from part one and learnt everything here.
Congratulations! But i wanted to know that if you produce any Nigerian doctor letter stating you have high risk pregnancy as stated in news and forum as a pre-requisite to get medical visa for child birth ? The Embassy outlined some conditions which have to be met before such a visa which falls under medical tourism category is issued. This it said, is necessary to encourage applicants to be truthful during visa interviews. One: The applicant has to show proof of available funds of at least $140,000 (about N22 million) to pay medical fees, and secondly, the applicant has to show proof of the need for medical attention in the US such as high risk pregnancy and the likes. US Embassy Chief of Consular Section, Ms. Carol Cox, in an interview with select journalists in Abuja, yesterday disclosed that it would cost at least $60,000 to have a baby in the US. |
