Yes there is. Keep checking, you should be able to get a date in August, especially for Abuja. Congratulations and all the best! buttie: Hi Guys
Please I will like to seek your opinion on a matter.
I have been trying to conceive for about 4 years. I got pregnant this year and I am currently 18 weeks gone.
I applied for American Visa two days ago and get an interview date scheduled in September 24 (For Abuja In Fact). The sad thing is that I will be around 34 weeks by then which leaves with me about 1 week/ or less to prepare and leave Nigeria (and that is if I eventually get the visa).
I am a little worried that the fact that the travel date and the interview date are so close may reduce my chances of getting the visa. My plan is to ensure that everything I need is ready even before that interview date such that if I am granted the visa I can leave immediately without stress.
I have started speaking to a doctor and he has accept to treat and deliver me while I am there. Alternatively, is there a chance to get an earlier interview date?

Hello guys,
Please I need your opinion on something.
1. I'm gonna be travelling at 35weeks plus 2 days. I've read conflicting information on this thread about flying with Emirates. Is 35weeks +1 say equal to 36weeks ? Do I need to fill the medif form to fly at 35w+2days? Or is my doctors fit to fly sufficient?
2. For those that used Dr Xydas/HNWMC, do I need to do labs here or are they covered in the fee paid? As much as possible I don't want to incur additional cost in the US on labs.
Thanks a mill for your response. |

Mamajayjay: Hey mama, please buy from U.S. you will get good value for your money. Plus you will take advantage of all the summer sales .
Thanks dear I’m going in November my baby is a December baby so hopefully I get better deals in December . When I saw some items that’s are like 210 I converted to naira and started having double mind as to if I should purchase or not |

December is even a better sales period . Stores like babys r us, carters, gap, even Burlington. You will buy more than enough. Nigerian stores will still add store rent money, flight money. Plus the food they ate before they went shopping to the price . My sister, save your that headache. Wishing you all the best. chloe00:

When I used Dr.Xydas even if u have labs from Nigeria, they also do their labs for u including pap smear, which is incurred/ added in ur doctors bill already.
Pls not u will still do blood works in the hospital if going for CS, so please bear in mind u will pay that fee too, for urs and ur LO.

Good luck to every other person Congratulations! But i wanted to know did you produce any Nigerian doctor letter stating you have high risk pregnancy as stated in news and forum as a pre-requisite to get medical visa for child birth ? The Embassy outlined some conditions which have to be met before such a visa which falls under medical tourism category is issued. This it said, is necessary to encourage applicants to be truthful during visa interviews. One: The applicant has to show proof of available funds of at least $140,000 (about N22 million) to pay medical fees, and secondly, the applicant has to show proof of the need for medical attention in the US such as high risk pregnancy and the likes. US Embassy Chief of Consular Section, Ms. Carol Cox, in an interview with select journalists in Abuja, yesterday disclosed that it would cost at least $60,000 to have a baby in the US. |

Thank you all for sharing your experiences.visa interview was on 3rd of April, I was on admission for a week prior to that day and had to beg my doctor to discharge me a day before the interview. In the day of interview, DH fell sick and was shivering, I had to drive despite Just being out of the hospital, the devil is a liar.interview was for 9:30am, got there before 8. Me: handed him the statements, both mine and DHs, including his cooperative contractions, our six months pay slips, letter of total emoluments from my office that shows other payments that doesn’t reflect on monthly payslip, letter of introduction from our offices. I packed everything and have him VO: studied everything line by line, especially the bank statements. Do you have any children yet? DH and I: yes VO:How many? DH and I:two VO: have you travelled before Me: yes VO:where? Me:To Dubai in 2016 VO: checks our passports to confirm, DH passport is virgin, never travelled before. VO: ok, gave me back all the papers after a long typing. You have been granted visa at this time, please pick up your passports at blah blah blah. I didn’t hear anything again.handed me the white paper.
Fast forward to Friday June 1st, Emirates to Houston via Dubai. Very long journey.7:50hrs to Dubai,4hrs layover and 16hrs to Houston, the plane wasn’t full so I got 4 seats, folded the arm rest and could lie down when I want to. Food was okay, cabin crew very nice. I got my fit to fly from the hospital.they asked for it each time I want to board.Got to IAH , Very long queue at the POE but was moving fast. Cpb: hello Me:good day sir Cpb: your passport Me :gave him Cpb: where are you heading to? Me: Houston Cpb:why are you here? Me: for vacation and to have my baby Cpb: place your fingers on the scanner, you said you are here for vacation? Me: and to have my baby Cpb:How much do you have there Me:$9400 Cpb: are you sure you don’t have up to $10,000 Me:yes I’m sure Cpb: what other currencies do you have there? Me: a hew naira notes Cpb: how much is it in dollars Me:about $10 Cpb: do you have any food stuff? Me : yes Cpb: calls another cpb and told him to take me to baggage inspection. I was there, a short queue but wasn’t moving.after almost 10minutes, First cpb shows up and called my name, Yetunde, please come with me. My heart skipped.he said I’m supposed to go to the secondary inspection first before coming down for baggage inspection. On our way back up, he asked if it’s my first baby inUS and I said yes but I have other children already, then he asked if I was using oakbend and dr F, I said yes oakbend but drZ, then he said he must be new there cos he doesn’t know him.he was very friendly. We got to secondary inspection and he said I should sit, he pointed at me and handed my passport to another cpb,Not many people were there but we’re all looking serious. I sat with one Nigerian lady that we flew together and she wa whispering to me that this place is hot o. I kept a straight face too. After about five minutes, he called me and said let’s go.he took me bag to baggage inspection, on our way, he said make sure you pay all your bills, don’t accept Medicaid, insurance or tip. Make sure you read everything before you sign and get al your receipts. We got to baggage inspection, he took me straight to the front, asked me to go sit down and handed over my passport to the cpb there, who called baggage people to go get my bag, after about 15 minutes, he called me, gave me my passport and asked me to proceed to the custom then baggage inspection, they asked me if I have dried ponmo, I said yes and they opened my bag and seized it and that was all. I checked my passport and saw that I was stamped for 6 months, I didn’t even know the point where it was stamped , like I said I read this thread from part one and learnt everything here.

We produce nothing in naija...So most of those things you'd see in jumia and konga were imported. So, what i did was to compare the prices on jumia and konga with the Walmart prices and concluded that it is cheaper to buy abroad. |
