Constructed in 1990, the lower Usuma dam is located in Shafa Downstream Community, Bwari Area, Abuja, and is one of the four operating dams that supply the city with drinking water. The Bottomless Lake in Nigeria

There is a lake in Nigeria called "The bottomless lake". It is called the bottomless lake because of its depth, which has been difficult to estimate. It stretches through a distance of almost 2km and is about 45m wide. According to oral history, which was passed down through the years. Ebomi Lake, also known as the Bottomless Lake is a 1.5 km long body of water, located in the sleepy reserve of Ipesi Akoko, along the northeastern border of Ondo State, South-West Nigeria. The lake, according to the residents of Ipesi Akoko, has supernatural powers for protecting the villagers during times of war. Common wildlife sightings around the lake include antelopes, bush pigs, mischievous squirrels, variety of birds and fishes, which all give photographers and nature-loving tourists an unlimited scope to savour. The site dates back as early as 9200BC and is popular as the cradle of West Africa’s oldest pre-historic man. Thanks to archaeological excavation of the skeleton of the oldest pre-historic man here. Located in a thick forest, more or less left in its natural form, rocks of different sizes and peculiarities surround this cave, one of which has engravings that locals believe to be Ifa oracle’s divination.
