nigeriapolitics:That's why they're trillions of miles away from us, i doubt if we're going to meet or overtake them. They're risk takers, they put their lives on the line when it comes to discovery and searching for knowledge. |

10. Turkey is poised to be the first predominantly Muslim country to be a member of the European Union and this is partly because of the fact that it is a relatively peaceful country. However, there are bouts of violence especially between the government and P.K.K. separatists which as turned up a notch recently with the suicide attack that saw a 100 killed in a bomb blast. It has a 98.5% Muslim population with a secular democratic government.
9. Algeria. Although Algeria experienced one of the bloodiest anti-colonial struggles against the French in its past, Algeria remains relatively peaceful. It has a 98% Muslim population.
8. Bangladesh. Bangladesh also makes our list. Considering that it is neighbors with Pakistan which is riddled with insurgent activity, one would think that there would be spillover effects of the violence in Pakistan; however, Bangladesh remains one of the most peaceful Muslim countries with a 98% Muslim population.
7. Saudi Arabi. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia not only has to accommodate a million pilgrims seeking to perform the Hajj every year but it does this rather peacefully. The country itself is also peaceful and has been with a 97% Sunni Muslim population.
6. Maldives. A country with a 98% Sunni Muslim population, in the Maldives, to be a citizen you have to accept Islam. There was an attempt to overthrow the Government in 1988 but this was thwarted with the intervention of the Indian army but has since lived in relative peace.

1. Kuwait. Considering that Kuwait has a sizable tourist population every year. Kuwait makes our list as one of the most peaceful predominantly Muslim countries. Another fact that testifies to the peacefulness of Kuwait is that there has never been civil conflict in its history.
In the world today, Muslims are seen as terrorists. They've been linked to about 90% of the bombings, massacre/shootings, kidnapping ever carried out. But why dont we have suicide bombing or shooting in Quatar or United Arab Emirates. Turn on the television and pictures of a Muslim country in turmoil and civil strife is likely to flood your screen at some point. Images of unstable Muslim countries has done much to portray the Islam Community as prone to violence even though the underlying problems in these regions are more or less economic and issues of identity. In a time when it seems like much of the Muslim world is embroiled in conflict from the Arab Spring to the ISIS agenda, it is perhaps a good time to consider the peaceful Muslim societies. People believe where there are Muslims, there must be violence. But here is a list of 10 peaceful Muslim countries in the world. http://musliminc.com/10-of-the-most-peaceful-muslim-countries-3312

JAMSTEC researcher Natsue Abe told CNN: 'We don't know the exact (composition) of the mantle yet. We have only seen some mantle materials.'The rock is very beautiful, it's kind of a yellowish green. 'Researchers hope drilling will start by 2030 and Ms Abe said she is convinced the project will work. Drilling could take place off Hawaii, Costa Rica or Mexico. The drilling will be carried out on JAMSTEC's ship Chikyu, which can bore down three times deeper than similar vessels. The Japanese government also hope the study will help them understand more about earthquakes, as the country is prone to the natural disasters. In 2016, there were three earthquakes in Japan, measuring between 6.2 and7 in magnitude. The preliminary surveys will be carried out on JAMSTEC's deep sea research ship Kairei. The vessel can send out sonic waves to analyse the ocean floor and the structure of the Earth's crust.

Researchers at the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology will start their preliminary studies in September off the coast of Hawaii. The cannabis sold in pharmacies will be grown by producers licensed by the state. 'This is not to promote it, but to compete with the informal market,' he said. The law requires buyers to be aged at least 18-years-of-age and to sign up to a national registry, which Mr Roballo said would be up and running by May 2. The price will be £1.00 per gram. Registrants who must be Uruguayan citizens or permanent residents can purchase up to a maximum of 40 grams (1.4 ounces) per month though 10-gram containers are expected to be introduced later. The country has stockpiled a total of 400 kilograms (882 lb) to be dispensed by pharmacies, an amount that could increase depending on demand, Mr Roballo said. Sixteen pharmacies have registered with the government of the tiny country, that shares a borders with Argentina and Brazil, to be able to sell marijuana for recreational purposes.

Uruguay is set to become the first country in the world to legally sell cannabis for recreational use after the final stages of the three-year processof legalizing the drug was reached. The new law will authorize pharmacies across the South American nation tobegin selling the substance as of July, presidential aide Juan Andres Roballo told a press conference on Thursday. The government hopes the formalization process will 'guarantee the quality and the purity of the product,' Mr Roballo added.
