What about the level of respect a young lieutenant can expect from his troops? particularly the very experienced NCOs...

Can we start a conversation about this?
It happened in platoon after that scar faced sergent gave out orders about ambush squad, the way that officer rushed him with respect to tell him that it is necessary he gives orders, oga na so dem dey beg for respect ?

I dey tell you my brother...

The fact that many soldiers have been disabled in various degrees especially psychologically shows the harsh realities...

Only a madman or a warmonger wishes for battle
That signal sergent or so making call from a dead man's back pack phone didn't know that he has lost his right hands, imagine, if not he was told he could have continued calling his village people that may never pick up.
Abeg no body should ever pray for war.

Hamburger Hill was secured on 20 may 1969.

The war for the hills and trails continued, the places and names forgotten, except by those who were there.

If you are able, save for them a place inside of you and save one backward glance when you are leaving for the places they can no longer go.
Be not ashamed to say you loved them, though you may or may not have always.
Take what they have left and what they have taught you with their dying and keep it with your own.
And in that time when men decide and feel safe to call the war insane, take one moment to embrace those gentle heroes you left behind.

Who said anything about being scared to download an update. Can you point me to where I mentioned such?

I have my reason for saying till miui 12 coz I was looking at the data consumption considering the fact that miui 12 update will be up anytime from now.

Whatever you choose to do with your phone and updates is no body's business.
Desist from bringing up ideas from your head. You don't know better than I do.

You're welcome. smiley
Those updates will keep accumulating as you may not be able to download miui 12 except you've downloaded and installed this one. Anyway, am so sorry you misjudged my tone, I never meant it the way you took it.

no bro,I haven't done any update yet,
The first 32gb mcard started this stuff when I tried copying back my files I backed up in the PC, it just stopped halfway and crashed so I got chup*X and tried again it worked, then woke up this morning to SD card Missing

Or is there any corrupt files in my back up that's corrupting the SD card?
If not for one thing I for say na spiritual problem but far from it, your first 32gb mc got bad while transferring files from a pc, have you being using it in your phone before copying the files that made it go bad?
The second one went bad right inside your phone, it can be the phone or the memory card, but just answer the first question first.

Have you done any update with your memory card in your phone? If yes, I experienced memory card being corrupt whenever I did any update without removing my memory card first, that was in my redmi 6 pro China version.

Think I'll just wait till miui 12
Why are you guys scared of updating your phones, even if I see an update of 0.1kb file in my updater, I dey update am without thinking twice. There is a reason the manufacturer is sending updates, and you snubbing it will make your phone obsolete and will be deprived of its optimal functioning. The issue of problems after updating is your phone readapting to its new self, just hard reset and wait a little, if there is a bug in the update, it can mean that you may have downloaded the file with faulty network and may have corrupted some part of the update file or the manufacturer is testing out something which you can report back for the update to be patched. If all of us keep dodging from updating, how will the manufacturer know how to serve us well. You guys don't know how privileged you are to be getting updates unlike camel 1-2 devices and iFin-niz devices who see no changes in their phones and can only update by buying a new device. Our manufacturers are saving us money to have one device and be changing it to a newer device with updates.

Why you ask these military guys some kind intricate questions, they seem to be speaking in parables even those you are close to; is it that they don't trust you with the information, or are they scared you'll sniff out the fear in them? I as a person can't blame them if they are scared because though they are rugged but they are still flesh and blood.

Android system appears to be using quite a bit. Are you running any particularly heavy theme on your device?

Given the usage it seems normal even though I think you may be able to squeeze an extra hour out if it save for your network condition. Disabling dark mode might help you save power since your display is an LCD.
Sir, seriously does dark mode suck battery in lcd ?

Bro i'm not discouraging anyone, i also want to join but my point is making noise about it that you want to fight boko haram isn't something u should be boasting about, a lot have tried and we saw how it ended. My own is stay lowkey, no need to cast yourself. My cousin just died, he shot himself, we dont no what the poor boy must have been passing through, he is a US Army officer.
Another thing you said they leave a peaceful life, if only you know what's happening to them behind the scene, i don't know if you heard about PTSD, research about it. Even retired boxers, wrestlers and the likes face it and we know how dangerous it can be. The so cause mighty united states that got lots of psychologist but still ptsd is there talk less of Nigeria my country that they don't regard any instead u go to your pastor or imam and pray. God decides everyone's fact but if its not Gods plan for you, everything will die down.
I don't have any issue with anyone joining the army, let your work do that talking simple. You don't know who and who is here, positive speech is the best. No one wish to go to war, anyone that loves fighting war is a psychopaths and a maniac and needs to be checked. Like i said talk less, let your work speak for you.
People die everyday by accident and the likes i accept, do you think the military will disclose the number of people that die?? I laugh again you, they will never say anything. A military man can die lets say last year june and they can just announce it this year so don't rely on that fact you just said. Na person way dey the field na him no what's up
Very apt, nice words.

For lovers of military movies; The Outpost which was released this year is very interesting, it's based on a true life story of US forces in a small outpost in an isolated region in Afghanistan. It's in the mould of Black hawk down, 13 hours in Benghazi.
Pure unadulterated violence, it also give one an idea of what attack on military bases looks like.
I just downloaded it now, will settle down tonight to watch it.

Wow you sound like a good EE engineer.

Can you explain why phone batteries last longer when charged with mains supply than with generators(The ones with low KVA)
I've been hearing of this, so I decided to be sure with a little googling because I never believed that generators affect phone batteries like I said in my previous post.
This is some extract from quora of an answer to a similar question like this.

First of all, Mobile phone charger is a DC power supply. DC power supplies are available in either Switched mode type or Linear type. While both types supply DC power, the method used to produce is different. The answer for your question is that the technology used in your charger is Switched mode.

Technically the power you are getting to your home has likely been generated with a generator of some type. With exception to Solar and maybe some other obscure way of collecting energy, almost all electricity is “generated” with a generator (ie. Moving magnets past a coils of wires to create electricity).
In electrical machines, we call them synchronous machines fitted with a prime mover which can be a gas turbine, hydro or steam.
That being said, to be “safe” for sensitive electronics, the power must be regulated. There are many safeguards and regulators in place for most generators as well as for your phone charger, as well as in your phone.
As long as the power is regulated, it won’t mater where you get it. It really is safe to use.

Funnily enough, phone ‘chargers’ (they aren’t, they are a 5vdc power supply, the charger IC is inside the phone itself).
In ‘olden days’ before switch modes became the norm, generators, with their often wildly swinging output voltages were indeed ‘electronics killers’- as with the old linear transformer supplies, and any change in the input voltage was reflected in the output voltage of the transformer, making the power supply of the electronics connected vulnerable to lower or higher voltages than normal…

Switch modes (anything with that 100–240vac, 50/60hz sticker on it) are different- they literally don’t care what the voltage is (as far as it is within their limits), what the frequency is (another bugbear for small generators- their frequency changes as their revs change) as the first thing they do is convert that incoming mains straight to DC internally…
So plugging your phones Power Supply into a generator is perfectly fine if it has that 100–240vac 50/60hz sticker on it, indeed the charger chip inside the phone will have no idea where it’s getting its 5vDC from- and battery life will be exactly the same as if it was plugged into the mains grid- no need for panicking, filtering or all the old kerfuffle about ‘gennys blow electronics up’, no need for ‘inverter generators’ or the like, if your gear has switchmode power supplies, it will literally plug into anything (including- although it is not marked as such) a straight DC supply in its range ie direct connection to high voltage battery banks, as is found in modern offgrid housing)

Hope you understand.
