Christianity EtcRe: Please Recommend A Church For Me In Ado-Ekiti by eyoiba(m): 7:21pm On Mar 18, 2013
My brother, i was once in ur shoes. I came to Ado-ekiti in the year 2008 and there was no (still non existent) of my church in town. After touring almost all the "perceived" good churches in town i made my decision. Before mentioning the church i latter settled for let me state that i'm not insuinating that all other churches i attended are not good. Let me even analysis some of those other churches' good attributes for you to know that "destroying " them and may it will even help you in making your decision:
1, Grace Covenant Church: this is a very good church that emphases on the word of God. The pastor is a professor of mathematics and wife is also a prof and you will find many lecturers like you there. It will be a place of networking apart from spiritual development, you will meet members that will assist you both spiritually and also in your career. Also since you will be working at Oye, you will most likely find accmdatn in Adebayo and the church is located at Adebayo, #proximitythings#. They don't demand from any member financially you give according to your will. There is a branch in GRA also.
2, Jesus Chapel, along Iyin Rd Basiri, branches all over Ado-ekiti. The senior pastor is Rev Idowu. This is one of the biggest churches in Ado and the pastor is a TEACHER of the word. I don't know any other Teacher of the word in Ado that is better than this gentleman and only few are more gifted in terms of teaching than this man in the whole country. If want real exposure & deep insight into the word this church is suggested. About emphasis on finance i don't know much. Also there are many lecturers in this church also and its also a good place for networking career-wise and its not too far from Adebayo area. The service is usually long.
3, Rev Kunle Salami's church is also very good, i used to listen to His program on the radio and his preachings are always very insightful.
4, I also attended Redeemed and its also very good.
5, Global Harvest is a youthful and vibrant church. Its along Unad Rd.
Finally let me tell you the church I settled for. Its Living Faith Church. The church has the word, in terms of praise/worship no part 2, spiritually, the church is solid. Spiritulity is a majorly a personal thing no church can force spirituality on, if you look round you will find a Christ embassy members that are more spiritual than MFM or Deeperlife members, im not putting any church down but i just sighted example. As much as pastor Adeboye is spiritual one would expect that automatically all redeemed members will be spiritual - is that what is obtainable? A church can only creat an atmosphere and there is that atmospher in Living Faith. About giving its not forced on anyone. You give according to your will. Nobody will take note of ur giving. I have to confess that i struggled with this aspect of the Church's doctrine initially but I got the conviction latter. Despit my conviction no one can force me to give i only give my spirit is will no matter what any pastor says even uptill now. Tithe is also emphasised but not forced. Most importantly let the holy spirit guide u in choosing ur church. I 've left Ado-ekit for Akure & I'm still a member of Living Faith. (Sorry for the typos i typed through my phone).
Car TalkRe: How Reliable Are Volvo Cars? by eyoiba(m): 4:28pm On Apr 28, 2012
I used to drive S80 but nobody told me before I sold it-at loss after less than 6 months. Very comfortable and lovely interior but I ran when it started developing faults. The parts are scarce and expensive compared to common brands. The gear develops fault at will and complex electronics system makes it very difficult to repair by Nigerian mechanics. The mechanics did not even have a clue most of the time and they ended up messing up the engine. Another problem was frenquent over-heating due to tightly packed engine.I wish I had asked the question you are asking before buying it at that time. Pls don't buy it if is not brand new because you don't know the problem it was given the former owner before he/she decided to sell it. I don't think the makers had sub-saharan Africa in mind when they made Volvo, the new models do not fit into Nigeria at all. Despite all these whahalas, I still like the brand but if I'm going to buy Volvo again it will be a brand new & like a spare car not the one I will be using frequently. My advise is don't buy Volvo if it is not new or your spare car.

Hello house. Please i need your help and advise. I have a HP Pavillion dv2000 laptop that came with vista but due to the policy of the organisation in which i'm working, i had to remove the vista and install Window XP professional in order for it to work on my organisation's network as that is the permitted OS. The problem now is that i can't find the driver for the Audio, Wireless and Bluetooth also my mouse works irrationally and very sluggish. I've gone to the HP website but was not able to get installable drivers. Please what can i do next or any body that has any of these drivers should please help out. Thanks.

Switosman and Kamikazee thanks for your responses. The "check engine" sign is always displayed on the dash board. What does it mean? Is it that i should take my car for scanning (Which i will do as both of u have suggested) or does it mean any other thing that i'm not aware of? Please how fuel economical is volvo S80 in good working condition compared to other brands? Is there going to be an improvement if i change the igition coil? I should have asked these questions before buying the car embarassed. I'm spending so much on fuel.
@Switosman, hw can i get baba4u93 on naira land?
Car TalkMy Volvo S80 Is Consuming Fuel At A High Rate by eyoiba(op): 7:17pm On Dec 20, 2010
Please kindly help me out. Any body who knows about volvo S80 should tell me what is going on with my car and steps to take. It's consuming fuel at an alarming rate. I took it to the mechanic and he told me it's the plugs and changed them but the fuel consumption does not improve. He later told me it's one of the coils on the plugs. I'm afraid that the mechanic is just guessing and i don't want to buy the coil without any result. Please i really want to know the following: Is it that S80 is not fuel economical ? Could it be the coil as the mech said? If it's the coil (not the plug itself) like hw much can i get it? I live in ado-ekiti and i just bought the car about 4 months ago. Your reply will be higly useful.
Christianity EtcRe: Abortion: Same As Murder? by eyoiba(m): 4:18pm On Feb 23, 2010
Abortion is absolutely bad. It is terminating the life of an innocent child who you don't even know what he/she can become in life. Most of the time people don't want to face consequences of their actions. If two people can be irresponsible enough to engage in an unprotected premarital sex, then they should not shy away when its time to face the consequence. Abortion should not be the easy exit out rather people should learn how to take responsibility! There are many contraceptives around and most of them are cheap so why should people who're foolish enough not to protect themself (fully aware of the likely result whether married or not) be doubly irresponsible to cut an innocent life whom they've invited to this world with their careless attitude?
My humble self would have been a victim if not for the repentance of my mother. Today I'm 28 years, a graduate and and working with a financial institution (i don't need to say all these cos i know God is still taking me to higher places, but just to let you know that a life you abort can become anything in this world). I personally know of a woman that got married, gave birth to a girl and after that girl she did not get pregnant again. The girl should be in her final year at UNILORIN now. Imagine if this woman had had an abortion due to her careless behavior while she was young, that could have been the abortion of her only child in this world.
However despite my stance on abortion, there some situations where i can consent to it and these are the circumstances:

a. A case of rape e.g during armed robbery. If the lady can not handle the thought of having the child that will forever remind her of the terrible situation (though if she can handle it, i will suggest that she leaves the child).

b. A situation where the child threatens the life of the mother. In this case i support abortion 100%.

Apart from the above i dont want to understand any other reason for abortion. It is worse than murder because the victim does not even have the chance to defend him or herself. You might think it's your body, heck no! If you think it's your body why not predict when you will leave this world or can you predict how that body will look or what sex that body will be when you were coming to this world. That baby might the one that might liberate your generation from poverty, he or she might be the only one that you will ever get. Think of those who are crying day and night for just a child before you commit the next abortion. I stand the chance of people calling me an old school or dim wit or slow-poke or idiot or what is another phrase used in deprecating people on Nairaland? but word is enough for the wise.
CultureRe: Questions about Nok People by eyoiba(m): 2:01pm On Feb 10, 2010
've been to NOK village. I went there during my NYSC at kaduna. I was in the tourism club. The village was very serene and peaceful plus the people were very accommodating, i felt like not leaving. There was a small office where the guide were staying and some of the artifacts were there but the real thing was in the forest which was according to the guide was about 2hrs hike from the village. We could'nt go to see the artifacts 'cos we arrived late ( around 5pm, thanks to the bus which broke down over 10 times enroute). I've since left kaduna but the memories still linger. Oh, i almost forgot! They have a lot of Ginger in that village too.
SportsRe: Togolese Footballers Shot In Angola, Adebayo Not Hurt by eyoiba(op): 9:45pm On Jan 08, 2010
This is totally senseless. It beats my imagination that some set of slowpokes pressing for whatever demands can turn against players of the massively loved game to gain attention. This is another bad image for Africa.

Gunmen have fired on a bus carrying Togo's football team to the Africa Cup of Nations in Angola, wounding players and reportedly killing the driver.
The attackers opened fire with machine guns on the vehicle in the oil-rich territory of Cabinda, where rebels have been fighting for independence.
The Angolan government called the incident an "act of terrorism". There are reports of serious injuries.
Togo is due to play its first cup game in Cabinda on Monday.
Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor was on the bus but is unhurt. In a statement, Manchester City said Adebayor had been "shaken by the terrible events" but was "unharmed". The bus was travelling to Cabinda from the squad's training ground in the Republic of Congo when the shooting happened.
"This was an act of terrorism," Cabinda affairs minister Bento Bembe told Reuters news agency.
Competition officials said they had not known that the Togolose team had decided to drive directly to Cabinda.
They said they had expected the squad first to fly to the Angolan capital, Luanda, and from there to Cabinda.
Shot 'like dogs'.
The head of the Togolese football federation told AFP news agency that the driver had died.

@Owu gal.
I saw the name Judas in a film cast . I can never name my son Adolf Hitler but i believe a name is just a word to identify a person though we attach meanings to it in Africa but i don't believe it can have a controlling power on individual in any way. A person bearing a name should define the name and not the other way round. Obama is not what made the person bearing it popular but but the other way round. In case a person bearing Adolf Hitler serves you his Birthday cake please don't refuse grin Those people that refused making cake for Adolf Hitler Campbell did that prejudicially.

CultureCan You Name Your Son Adolf Hitler ? by eyoiba(op): 12:19pm On Aug 24, 2009
I watched a documentary on WW2 recently and for the first time i realised that Adolf Hitler was a great motivator and had he channeled his energy positively, Germany would have been the greatest country in the world. For example:at the time he became the chancellor of Germany their economy was in terrible state and was so bad that a bread was sold for several billions of deutschemark and he was able to perform a feat that is still known as economic miracle till today. He also transformed Germany to the world military power and provided employment to several millions. That's not to take the atrocities he commited from him, i just opened his positive side to you.
Now the question is can you name your son ADOLF HITLER for any reason? shocked After all people are bearing JUDAS. grin
