The project was cancelled simply because all foreign loans were cancelled by Buhari government as he was committed to paying debts and not to incur another one. The metro line project was to be financed by foreign loan.

You are the head and all the blame rests squarely on you, shifting blame and apportioning blame is their tactics when they start going from one church to another in other to get the support of electorate

1. Only one lane is done in some portion of the Anambra end. The other lane is totally untouched (I was in Akwa from Enugu lately).
2. The places done is by Anambra from State purse. FG is yet to refund a dime. (It is hard to retrieve refunds from FG)
3. Enugu section is totally untouched. 9th Mile is an eyesore. In some places, the second lane is totally non-motor-able.

Just putting the record straight. It is an open secret and a glaring fact.

This is my opinion. It is not a sin per se but the rail project will not reach a sustainable stage in my opinion.

The rail project is currently not sustainable because the fundamentals of the economy are lacking as I will explain bekow:

No power to run small businesses and industries.
No refineries to reduce Gov't spending of forex on importing fuel and subsidising them
No security for people to settle and travel freely to conduct their businesses.

You will agree with me that the rail project is still in its infancy because they're still laying tracks and importing locomotives. Stations are yet to be modernised.

The amount of spending needed to get rail transport to the level where it can sustain itself is a lot of US Billions which the Gov't doesn't have at the moment if you have been following the news lately.
Infact the progress made so far in the rail project is based on loans from China.

With low oil prices bound to persist for much of next year and the high level of corruption, many projects will die immature deaths and the rail project is one very likely candidate.

To even show you the level of sincerity of the Gov't, instead of a technocrat in the transport industry, they handed over the Railways to Bamanga Tukur as a political appointment to appease Mama Piss.

Until we get the three fundamentals of Security, Power and start refining our own fuel to save forex, any capital intensive project in Nigeria is on shaky foundation.

I have posted elsewhere that GEJ has only two achievements after 4 to 5 years so far but I will not go into the details.

1. Eliminating Fuel queues
2. Airports remodelling

But the fundamentals are not right even in the two mentioned above. Sorry I can't go into details here.

I have told you instead of this failed rail project, GEJ would have done Nigeria greater good if he focused on Power and Refineries. Men, I would have been singing GEJ till 2019

If I tell you now that over $35 billion dollars have been spent on electricity in Nigeria since the beginning of our democracy, you will ask me for document as well whereas you can as well check for the information if you really care to know.

And surely you can't say same of a GEJ who has had six years with the type of money available to him but could only come up with mediocre achievements. Though he excels in looting and insecurity which is the reason he has to be booted out come next year.
