The M.Sc person may not have the skill set you have, which may be what the company needs, and that my friend is what got you the job.

That you got the job is a means to an end, not the other way round. Inasmuch as I felicitate with you (it's not easy getting a good job these days), you should not think you've arrived; there are higher positions than where you are now.
