Just moments after President Buhari’s media aide Lauretta Onochie shared a video online showing former Governor of Ekiti state Ayodele Fayose, mocking him for dancing with a white woman after claiming to be abroad for medical reasons; the former governor has subtly fired back at her, even telling haters to hug transformer. It is obvious the former governor did not take it lightly with the president’s media aide. https:///2020/01/haters-can-hug-transformer-fayose-shades-lauretta-onochie.html

President Buhari's media aide, Lauretta Onochie has reacted to a video of former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose dancing with a white woman after being granted permission to travel out for an emergency medical treatment by a Nigerian court. The former Governor of Ekiti State was granted permission to travel out for an emergency medical treatment in December 2019, amid his trial for an alleged N2.2bn fraud. However after a video of Fayose dancing with a white woman surfaced online, Lauretta Onochie stated that it seems the Ekiti-born politician is healed and might not be seen on stretchers during his next court appearance or on his way to jail. https:///2020/01/fayose-spotted-dancing-with-white-woman-after-travelling-abroad-for-medical-treatment-lauretta-onochie-reacts.html

By Jayamma Abanobi, editor 2009 is a year Nigerians will not forget in a hurry, this year marked the beginning of hope for the average Nigerian as the president at the time His Excellency Umaru Musa Yar’Adua mapped out plans for an economic blueprint for the country with the set target for 2020; a cumulative of 11 years from the start date. Yar’Adua’s planned that after a number of validation exercises, he would launch the nation's economic blueprint on October 1, 2009 to enable Nigeria attain its long term developmental goal of being among the top 20 most industrialized economies in the world by 2020. The blueprint was drafted and announced to the joy of Nigerians, but with the advent of the new year 2020, the plan is far from being materialized. The sad reality stares at the face of millions of Nigerians with many of the opinion that 2009 was a better economic year than 2019, with the exception of 2020 – the new year. This sad reality is the undeniable fact. In 2009, the dollar exchange rate to naira stood at 145-171 naira to one dollar. Currently as at 1st January 2020, that figure is 362.50 naira to a dollar, a clear contrast of the expected outcome of the Vision 2020 plans drafted in 2009. The late president Yar'Adua Umaru Musa Yar’Adua had good plans for the country, but his dreams for the country lacked the effrontery to withstand successive governments who did not build and develop his economic blueprint for the country. His sudden death also contributed to the unfortunate series of events that followed. Yar’Adua’s plan can be summarized in 3 Developmental stages STAGE I: BUILDING A SOLID FOUNDATION FOR V2020 (2008–2010) STAGE II: ACHIEVING THE MDGs ENROUTE TO V2020 (2011 – 2015) STAGE III: BECOMING A TOP 20 ECONOMY BY 2020 (2015 – 2020) None of the above stages were ever initiated or concluded… Well, Nigeria is not a stranger to promises that are geared towards the general development of the country. Even in the 1970s and 1980s, some of the politicians who we hold in high regard as Fathers of Nigerian politics and Nationalism all promised to provide constant power supply but that has never been fulfilled already becoming a constant anthem for politicians seeking political office especially in the presidential level. Nigeria is in dire need of infrastructure, it is hungry for an organized system; but how can that come? The vision 2020 we so much hoped for and anticipated for is over with Nigeria not even achieving up to 5% of its laid out plans to become a top economic hub by 2020. The transportation system in Nigeria is fantastically decayed with every hope of redemption far from sight; the little relief Nigerians get in the usage of quality transportation is dominated by private transportation companies who even complain of the state of roads in the country with bad roads littered everywhere. We cannot deny that the current administration of President Buhari is working hard to ensure that the Nigerian Railway system is up and running with the launching of new trains, wagons, coaches and stations; but the worry lies in the subtle fact that most of these trains do not meet current world standards; but it should be applauded that there is a major revival in the railway system. Airports in Nigeria do not meet world standards, though a promise is around the corner with the spotlight on the Enugu Airport which the Federal Government has assured will meet world standards. For an economy to thrive, the provision and efficient management of the transportation system is key. The provisions of good roads, railway tracks, quality buses, boats and trains for mobility and the efficient management of these is necessary. I will not delve into the other sectors that need to revive for economic growth because one thing for sure is this; Vision 2020 was a TOTAL FAILURE. https:///2020/01/vision-2020-the-colossus-of-a-monumental-failure.html

Larry Ehizo, a Customer Service Officer of a first-generation bank in Abuja, has narrated to the police how he got involved in last Saturday's failed bank robbery attack in Mbappe, a surburb in Abuja. Larry was paraded before newsmen at the Abuja police command headquarters, said that the mastermind of the robbery, one Ernest, who is at large, had threatened to kill him, his girlfriend and his family if he did not help him and his gang members to rob the bank. According to the 30-year-old University of Abuja graduate, he drove the five robbers into the bank premises in his vehicle. In his words “I met a friend (Ernest) in November and we had a discussion where we used to hang out and I said something after he complained about our services in the bank and we almost got into a serious argument and I told him that the only thing he would do is get angry and maybe not bank again with us. He said he was going to hurt someone and I told him not to do that. That the highest he can do is to do that or maybe rob the bank to make them feel bad. I did not know he had that on record and he used that to threaten that after some time that I must take the people that he would bring into the bank. He threatened my family, myself and even the people around me. Even my girlfriend. After that, I was afraid to go to the police because he said even if I go to the police that he had already informed his colleagues and because he is a cultist and he said that anything I get after that I should take it. “That is when he brought them. I still begged him and he went as far as my family house and threatened to kill them. He now brought them on that day that I should take them in and tell them what to do. “He even followed to the bank but escaped when they caught them. He insisted I take my car to take them inside the place and that was the only thing I was supposed to do and leave the rest for them to do. The person is at large. His name is Ernest. I didn’t report to the police because of the threat. He actually brought his fellow cultists to my house and threatened me and my girlfriend that I must take them. He said he was going to give them N7 million. He said I was going to get 20 per cent and I told him I did not want anything. He said I must collect it. I am a Customer Service Officer. I have been with the bank for over two years. If I had gone to the police I would not have been here talking now. Members of my family also would not be. He knows my family house and knows where I stay personally at Mpape. He waited to see when we entered inside and he immediately called me and I did everything out of fear of not dying and not having anyone dying because of me. Ernest is a customer at the bank. He comes around. There is a place I go to hang out in Mpape. He is a barman there. He sells drinks. On normal situations, we have sat down to have drinks. We discussed football, family and how to move forward. He is a barman''. One of the suspects, 24-year- old Princewill Obinna, said Larry and the said ''Ernest'' assured him and the other robbers that it would be an in-and-out operation. ‘I was among those people that robbed the bank. It happened that Mr Larry invited us. Mr Ernest met us and told us there is a job we wanted to do but he would connect us to the person that had the work. I asked him who the person. So he called me and introduced us to Mr Larry, who told us that there is an event that he wants us to carry out that Ernest has been troubling him. That if only we can successfully do it, that he and Ernest have the background and survey, that they are going to guide us. That it is going to be stressless (sic) and that within some minutes we are going to wrap up the deal. I said what was the deal about and he said it was a bank. I was shocked and said I have never done such before. He said we should not worry that there is a vehicle that is tinted and nobody would see us and that everyone would be okay. He asked if I know some persons that can help us and I said I had friends that come around and they said okay. They also never wanted to do it but we all agreed at the end of the day. That is how we came to find ourselves there. “The message came to me on Tuesday and the operation was on Saturday. So we were just thinking about what they told us that it would be easy and they would give us money. They promised to give us N7 million to share. I coordinated the other boys. The ammunition we took there was a local pistol that our late friend (robber who was shot) brought. He said he would be the one to stand at the gate and that I should hold this one and threaten the Mobile man'' According to the police, no money was stolen during the attack. https:///2020/01/how-i-helped-robbers-in-foiled-abuja-bank-robbery-bank-staff.html

![]() I don't know anything o, but if you ask me, I like what Dangote is doing, but the support he gets by the government is massive compared to others even from South West.. Ohaneze might be right and wrong at the same time.. Igbos like investing outside their region but Dangote likes investing in the North, sidelining South East.. Dangote has no investment in South East and there is a reason for that |
