Radicalwarrior: Yes I agree with what you said. 2027 presidency of Nigeria belongs to igbos from south east and tinubu should not contest for it because he has taken 2years already out of igbo presidency of 8years.
ch214: The video below shows how south east politicians were calling for igbo presidency in 2023 because they believe it was the turn of the igbos to produce the next president of Nigeria after Buhari but fellow southerners the yorubas from south west betrayed the igbos south east region as tinubu a yoruba man took what belongs to the igbos even the south south region all voted for the igbos but the south west region all voted tinubu after knowing that Obasanjo a yoruba man have ruled Nigeria for 8years and osinbajo have been vice president of Nigeria for 8years.
1nice: Tinubu have already taken 4years out of the 8 years of south east igbo presidency already and so tinubu should do the needful by choosing a igbo APC member from south east as his successor in the 2027 presidential election in Nigeria. Tinubu is a one term president.
Tinubu and APC should do the needful and other political parties should also pick a south east member as their presidential candidate in 2027 presidential election: so all the political parties presidential candidates should come from south east Nigeria for the sake of justice and federal character and equity.
21lucky: Headline: "APC South East Youths Urge Tinubu to Pick APC Igbo Successor in 2027, Say It's Time for Equity and National Unity"
Abuja, Nigeria – August 4, 2025 — In a bold and impassioned call that could shape the direction of Nigeria’s political future, the All Progressives Congress (APC) South East Youth Forum has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to back a credible Igbo APC member as his successor in 2027, citing the need for national balance, political inclusion, and renewed unity in the country.
Speaking at a press briefing in Enugu over the weekend, the group emphasized that the South East has remained politically marginalized at the federal level since the return of democracy in 1999, and argued that the time has come for an Igbo presidency under the APC to reflect true federal character and promote lasting national cohesion.
The group, stated: “We have supported the APC faithfully and contributed to its growth across the nation. Now, as 2027 approaches, we believe it is time for our great party to make a bold move—support a qualified, loyal, and visionary Igbo APC member to lead this country.”
He added that the South East, one of the most industrious and dynamic regions in Nigeria, has been overlooked for the top job for too long despite its contributions to national development.
“Equity demands that every region has a fair shot at the presidency. It is not just about politics—it’s about unity, healing, and securing the future of Nigeria as a truly inclusive nation.”
The group outlined several compelling reasons why the APC should zone the presidency to the South East in 2027:
1. Balancing the Federation: With the South West, North, and South South all having produced presidents and vice presidents in recent democratic history, the South East remains the only major geopolitical zone yet to lead the country since 1966.
2. APC’s Growth in the East: The party has made substantial gains in the region over the years. Backing an Igbo candidate would consolidate support and further entrench APC’s dominance across all six geopolitical zones.
3. Youth Mobilization and Economic Potential: The South East has one of the highest youth populations and entrepreneurial energy in the country. Supporting an Igbo candidate could galvanize youth participation and trust in democratic institutions.
4. Healing Old Wounds: With tensions still simmering from years of perceived exclusion, an Igbo presidency—especially under the APC—would symbolize reconciliation and the dawn of a new era of trust in government.
The group also called on President Tinubu to initiate a national conversation within the party on zoning and succession planning, urging the APC National Working Committee (NWC) to begin consultations across all party structures ahead of 2027.
“We are not demanding favoritism; we are demanding fairness,” said Nwankwo. “Let the best from the South East be considered—someone who understands Nigeria, who is tested, loyal to the APC, and committed to continuity and reform.”
Political analysts say this demand could shape President Tinubu’s legacy. By supporting a power shift to the South East, the President may not only solidify his image as a national leader but also set the tone for a more united Nigeria.
As 2027 draws nearer, the question remains: will the APC take the bold step to heal historical wounds and complete the circle of national inclusion?
For now, the call has been made. The nation—and history—is watching.
these people will always want to reap where they didn't sow, the same people who hates APC with passion are demanding from same APC they hate
Mrfixitt: Stop saying trash. You have no iota of knowledge about how Peter Obi ruled Anambra. Even Grok recently listed him as one of the best governors Nigeria has had. You Tinubu supporters are bereft of information and ideas
but doctors went on strike for good 13 months?
Lecturers went on strike for good 6 months?
He was paying 10 naira as allowance for fire workers as at 2014?
He didn't build any schools but increased school fees ( if u want to argue I go bring u video where himself talk am on channels TV)
Mrfixitt: Only a an incompetent fellow thinks that a country like Nigeria can't experience turn around in 4 years. Not everyone will be a failure like Tinubu
same man who failed woefully as governor of tiny anambara wants to perform wonders in Nigeria with 36 states?
givedemwotowoto: Our founders gave a 4-year term to the President. In fact, in the US, senators and house of reps members serve 2-year terms after which they have to seek re-election.
It’s unfortunate that politicians ride boldly on the ignorance of the people who embolden them with reelection.
same obi swore with his life that he would never leave apga but still left
A band of supporters stormed the streets of Edo State, chanting and dancing to Peter Obi's name. This is revealed in a video circulating on the Internet...
all these hungry YouTubers
I can't waste my data on that n I urge people coming here not to waste their data on that irrelevant
ogascomax: I will tell you for free why Tinubu did well in the North. First do not undermined El Rufai support for Tinubu. Secondly immediately Buhari voted he showed is vote that gives most northerners the direction to follow. Thirdly and most importantly. Tinubu tricked them with is health. many of them believed that Tinubu will die soon so that Shettima will come from the back door. You see this third point it's not a bear parlour statement but something that the North were expecting. I engaged with them before the election and they were hoping for that. The were hoping for the Yar Adua's vs Jonathan story.
just Dey play
U will learn d hardway in 2027
Same Buhari that didn't support Tinubu but introduced cashless policy n fuel scarcity
Refinedbeing: Where in Nigeria constitution is it written that once you are from a certain part of a country you can’t aspire to rule the country for a certain period. Nonsense. So una south think say una wise abi. You want Atiku to rally support for Obi (another southerner) so you guys can cumulatively spend 12 years together everything being equal abi. Una too smart.
Nairalandhero
Hear what this guy have to say
So after tinubu finishes his 4 years in 2027, u want to use idea to bring in another southerner that will use 8 years so the north can b out of power for 12 years abi?
esnbrutality: They have started their propaganda..the fear is real.
Let it be noted exclusively that Southern Unity is unavailable
nobody needs southern unity.
Let everyone play their games seperately
South west is already in power n south south are eyeing VP in APC in 2031, so if south south supports south west to win in 2027 they too will become number 2 in 2031 n become number 1 in 2039.
It's pure calculations.
Oya tell me, south south is number 3 now, can ADC give them number 2 in 2031?
Nairalandhero: Atiku Abubakar is the problem of Nigeria. Presidency is rotated between the South and the North, but Atiku has refused to honor this gentleman agreement between the South and North.
Buhari finished 8 years tenure without any disturbances from the South. The South respected themselves and allowed the North to finish their 8 year tenure.
Atiku should respect himself and step aside until the South finish their own tenure. Atiku has no regard for the South, he is always dragging Presidency with the South, he has no respect for the South, but this time around, the South will teach him a lesson he will never forget in his life.
If Atiku continues to disrespect the South, APC will give it's presidential ticket to someone from the South in 2031 when it will be the turn of the North, if the northern leaders refuse to call Atiku Abubakar to order. Why does Atiku like dragging position with the South? Is Atiku a southerner? I don't understand.
Northern leaders should call Atiku Abubakar to order, he should respect the South the way the southerners respected Buhari's 8 years tenure or the South will give him exactly what he is looking for.
If Atiku continues his disregard against the southerners, APC will field someone from the South in 2031, and there's nothing the North will do about it, because Atiku started it. If the North do anything funny, the President will use Soldiers against them.
The South are not cowards. Gentleman agreement must be respected.
u want atiku to step down for a southerner right?
I have 2 questions for u
1) hope u know Amaechi too is a southerner n he has more dollars to spend for delegates than obi?
What if Atiku steps down n amaechi wins obi at primary?
Abi u go beg Amaechi to step down too?
2) u are saying it's southern turn meaning u are insinuating obi will use 4 years?
Constitutionally where is it written that obi can't use 8 years?
If soludo an Ibo man can see obi deciet, so tell me if northerners don't know better?
They will rather wait for Tinubu to have his remaining 4 years n have it back in 2031 than gamble with obi that will use 8 years
ogascomax: Let me tell you what you don't know and learn that today. How many voters are here. Most of us using nairaland are kind of educated and mostly from the South. Some people here a bought to campaign for some individuals. So this is a wrong place to take your sample. Is like taking sample from a group of people that watch TVC. If this forum were to be Arewa or any northern forum will you have said that. I am well aware that if Obi decided to run as vice he would lost most of is supporters but the good thing is that he won't loss them to Tinubu but they will simply not vote. Also he will be able to convince not less than 40 percent to vote for him. It's a simple logic for Obi to sell to them. Just tell them that if they split vote again Tinubu will win. That alone will convince manner to vote for them. However, Obi will not lose is northern support he can only loss some of is supporters from the South. Atiku just need some good numbers from the South that Obi can contribute to but he will so much beat Tinubu up north.
y didn't atiku beat tinubu in d north in d last election despite d fact that tinubu was highly sabotage through cashless policy n fuel scarcity?
Even d north will work against the coalition ticket cos nobody can stop atiku or obi from using 8 years constitutionally, hope u know many northerners have presidential ambition in 2031?
If Atiku or obi should win that means their ambition is buried for life, they will prefer tinubu win n have his remaining 4 years so they can give their best shot in 2031
As for the south south, hope u know they are number 3 citizen now?
Hope u know they are already scheming for VP come 2031 in APC?
Hope u know they have 5/7 governors in APC now n once Tinubu wins in 2027 it's sure a northerner will become president in 2031 n a southerner will become VP.
If south south should support south west in 2027, south west will support them to get VP in 2031.
chiboycue: Alhaji Atiku has already been Vice President for 8 years and he is over 75 years. He is already enjoying the renumerations of former VPs. He should indeed allow other younger politicians to vie for Presidency and play the role of an elder statesman
hope a 65 year old grandpa isn't who u are calling young?
Qoko: Baba, don’t act as if you’re from Togo, you shd understand Nigerian Presidential primary election that is within the party, it is easier to buy people to vote for you.
so if Atiku step down for him, dem tell u say tinubu money don finish to buy people?
