PoliticsRe: I Won't Apologize Niger-Delta Avengers - Tompolo by Fadekebisola(f): 8:53pm On May 08, 2016
SleekAboki:
Tompolo through the amnesty program is today a legit internationally known security consultant. It's not in his overall best interest to be associated with the Avengers who are currently making their bones just as tompolo prior the amnesty deal.

I see some interests desperately trying to rope Tompolo into this mess to negate all the legit international success tompolo made under the last regime.

One strategic mistake buhari advisors did was brazenly going after tompolo and creating a huge power vacuum which the avengers are milking perfectly.

If there be any diplomacy in buhari, he should as a matter of urgency make contact with government Tompolo cos that gentleman is key in solving this delta issue.
THE BOLDED WAS JUST THE MISTAKE MADE....TOMPOLO HAD ALREADY GOTTEN HOLD OF DELTA SECURITY....THIS WONT HAVE HAPPENED UNDER HIM..THIS IS REALLY AN INSULT TO MR PRESIDENT....THERE SHOULD JUST BEG TOMPOLO

I know even educated people commit grammatical blunders sometimes but there are grammatical blunders that are just so outrageous and shameful at the same time, when they come right out of the mouths of supposed 'graduates' from tertiary institutions!

If you have been guilty of the following as regard spoken English, then you have clearly moved from being a 'Half-baked' graduate to a 'Quarter-baked' graduate!!! grin grin

1) 'You are smarting'...I heard a guy at a plaza who claimed to be a graduate saying this! Gush! Being smart is very different from being fast or slick. By the way, there's no verb such as 'smarting' in English language which means the same thing as what this young man was trying to say! cool

2) 'You are showing yourself'...just like the one above, how can someone be 'showing' himself/herself? huh So human being don turn movie? huh Na wa o!

3) 'Oya, come and go'...two opposite verbs. You are telling the person to come and at the same time, to go! grin Again, what's the meaning of 'Oya'?

4) 'My body is scratching me'...your body can only itch you and not scratch. You scratch when you use your fingers to stroke a surface roughly! Lol! grin

5) 'My phone is 'more' better than yours...this sentence can surely make you appear a 'quarter-bakie' wink You can't use two comparative adjectives in a sentence! We have good, better, best. When you compare two things, the middle one which is 'better' should be used so there's no need for 'more' which is also a comparative adjective but goes with 'than'. As in 'more than' cool

6) 'Did she went to the market'?...as absurd as this sentence is, I have seen many 'graduates' saying it! Two verbs with past tense form in the same sentence? huh

7) 'Ola, something is smelling. Can you hear it...ehen!!! 'HEAR'? huh English!!!

8. 'People has' or 'she have'...'has' is a singular auxiliary verb that goes with a singular subject while 'have' is a plural auxiliary verb that goes with a plural subject.

9) 'They takes people for granted'...this one is common on NL. A plural subject does not go with a singular verb and vice versa. 'Take' is plural and 'takes' is singular which goes with a singular subject as well. Take note of 'They' being a plural subject.

10) 'I am looking for Funmilayo'...you can't be looking for someone. Instead, say 'I am asking of Funmilayo'. You can only look for what is lost! It happens regularly when people go to check on others. We can only start looking for Funmilayo if she is declared missing! grin

I hope these help! We are all learning. It is only a foolish man that takes offence when he is corrected!

Good day!!! cool

PoliticsSouth-west Remains The Best...a Short Story Of My Tour From Abuja To PH/UYO by Fadekebisola(op): 1:33pm On Apr 27, 2016
Some may say am biased but this is a clear and transparent experience i have ..
First i came to Port Harcourt for a business deal sometime last week and decided to see a close relative in uyo afterwards.

I arrived PH for the first time beholding an awesome and very large city with numerous economic activities going on there...suffice to say that PH city remains the most economical after Lagos in Southern Nigeria....but one particular remark in PH city is the palpable terror in it.....those living in PH knows what am writing about...u dare not make unnecessary movement even at Night....i was opportuned to visit Aluu community in uniport were Aluu-4 killings took place sometime back from there i entered bus to 'Choba' and then to Rumokoro...one thing is certain, the PH locals are ikwere, though there are large population of igbos in PH..infact there is no palpable difference between portharcourt and south east states in terms of igbos occupying there but the ikweres dont see themselves as igbos and igbos too there dont see ikweres as their brothers then i began to ponder why igbos claim ikweres are their brothers when the reality on ground says otherwise....my advice to igbos is to let ikwere people be as they deemed fit.

UYO VISIT::From PH i took prince mass transit at akwa-ibom park in PH(#1500 fare)...passed through eket then abak to uyo....one certain and first thing i can attest is that akwa-ibom state has the highest best road network in Nigeria with functioning street lights but what the lack is good houses.....there are atleast 6 flyovers in uyo including the goodluck jonathan flyover with four double lane roads(i must commend akpabio)....most roads were constructed by Julius berger. Then i started asking myself why igbos chest-beat(esp anambra people) when gov obiano constructed is it two or three flyovers crossing an erosion ravaged lands and Enugu-onistsha roads which are worst in the country...then i just laughed and said to myself that empty vessels make the loudest noise..probably they are just getting use to new development...
If there is any state that is supposed to boast i think is akwa-ibom and not anambra chest-beaters..

In uyo i visited Maitama area of uyo, strip clubs, ibom plaza and 5-star hotels.
one bad with akwa-ibom girls is that they give birth first out of wedlock and return back to their father's house and begin to look for a new husband...some of them who have still given birth combine night prostitution as part of their business and i asked a friend and he told me efik/ibibio people were caused by mary slessor for raping her.....is typically that bad...in Maitama area there are bunch of prostitutes littered everywhere(90% igbos, a friend who patronized them told me this) and mostly people from Enugu(b4 u misunderstand me try do small investigation)..

I forgot mention that uyo is now popular with LOTO BIZ...this is the latest biz in town, anybody who stays in uyo knows this..

FROM ALL THESE I MEASURED THAT SOUTH WEST REMAINS THE BEST

first i know am not a virgin and i want allow those old men in the village charge my boo excessively bc of their selfish desire...what is the essence of the charge in the first place wen most women are not married virgin.....i was in uyo and i saw the amount of prostitution going on there mostly by igbo women(98%)...and after that they will false the man to pay olosho bride price at such amount is unfair...this is why i like yoruba culture.

at OP am sure u are no longer a virgin....so dont allow those old men reap where they did not sow

PoliticsWhat We Need Is State Autonomy And Not Regionalism by Fadekebisola(op): 9:10am On Apr 26, 2016
www.nairaland.com/3069639/collapse-36-states-6-zones/1
With reference to the above link where people suggested a return to regionalism and states be collapsed....i have come to state with facts why state autonomy instead of regionalism is best..
First;before the 1966 era Nigeria had 3 main regions of NORTH(with capital in Kaduna)...West(capital in Ibadan) and East (capital in Enugu)....suffice to mention that these regions where doing great no doubt but that was more due to sincerity of leaders then....Now during those era places for instance like ado-ekiti,akure,abeokuta,umuahia,abakaliki,awka,uyo,yenegoa,asaba,dutse,damaturu and most of the newly state capitals where merely villages....Reason been that developments where centred at the regional headquarters which is the reason why Ibadan aside Lagos(bc of been Nigeria's capital) remains largest city in west, Kaduna remains largest in North and Enugu that of east....without state creations these new areas would have lacked development...

Secondly, Nigeria population is almost 4times to that of pre-1966 era and coming back to regional government means more job loss because presently the states making up each region will always have about 10times more workforce compared to when they are merged into regions thereby slashing the workforce and people become more jobless..

Third, there will be more increase in sub-tribalism and it will be worse than Nigeria's present tribalism state.imagine how many tribes we have in the north, and south south.....even in the west there was once a cry of marginalisation then by ijebus and in the east the present day Abia/Ebonyi also had their share of marginalization..

IN essence am of the opinion states be given autonomy to harness their resources for example...
ONDO state should be given free hand to exploit their bitumen with federal government interference even though the federal government can helo them financially

OYO/OSUN states should partner and improve on cocoa production and export

ENUGU state should be given free hand to mind their coal

EBONYI state should invest more on their rice production and mining of precious stones

Zamfara should be given leverage to mind gold

Infact North should go back to Agriculture while States in Niger delta should control their oil resources..
