frankie2K: Good day pals,
Nov 27 was my birthday but couldn't post it here because ma device was damn too low.I thought before that I will be blessed with a visa for my birthday present but didn't work out the way I thought, well glory be to God

@frankie2K : All hope is not lost. I see you asked for Universities that takes HND in the USA. I dug out this post for you (http://www.farooqkperogi.com/2009/12/hnd-and-american-universities.html) Read the post and i guess that can help you see how HND is viewed here. You can also take note of the schools mentioned in the post and probably start your search from those.

Also, i will advise you take your GRE if you have not taken it already and ensure you get a good score from it. I see someone also advise you get your HND result evaluated. If you want to go that route too, its good but am sure you may still be able to find schools that will accept you even without the evaluation. The key is start early, take the exams and trust God. If i can be of help, i sure will, just let me know.

You can still do your GRE, TOEFL and other test only that you will not be able to do so in Nigeria. Check out this website (www.swiftprocurement.com), they can register you at location in Republic of Benin. The problem is, the consular may reject your application for the fact that you did not write the GRE/TOEFL. This two exams help to convince them to a level that you intend to go and study. At least for the fact that you wrote them and to a level passed it.

@godG - You can mail me at fahdy2k@yahoo.com, i will be happy to help. But bear in mind i will need you to write your essay first. It will be vetted and will give me more guidelines with some sample essays. You will be writting it yourself but be assured it will be great. I think thats the best way to learn

@Davton - I think self sponsored will be okay for you depending on your present income and if you have a Dad or Uncle that can back you up with some little cash in his account. With that you should be able to convince the consular you will not be a burden to their goverment.

Though the response below is for a separate posting but it has some stuff you can learn from with regards to tithing and true Christainity/LOVE, enjoy:

Hello friends,
Before i put in my contributions, let me start by saying i am a born again Christian and always proud to say it. I will not say to anyone to pay his/her tithes or not but will imploy you to let's rightly divide the word of truth has Bro Paul challenged Timothy. I feel really ashamed of what my faith (Christian Faith) has turned into- which is no more of a humble calling, a call to serve mankind. A call to guide and shepherd souls, a call to be a servant just like what Jesus told his disciples - James and John (see Mark 10:35-45 and Luke 22:24-27). I implore all to please read those scriptures and others within this posting because i think its important to this discussion.

I feel bad because even my Church is not left out and each day i look to see if there will be one that will at least emmulate the real calling of our lord Jesus Christ but sad enough its almost the same. As a matter of fact, i found that even people that never believe in God for a second exhibits such a great amount of LOVE than we that call Jesus every seconds. It's really sad!!! If you do not believe my last statement, here you go:
"On December 9, 2010, Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, and investor Warren Buffett signed a promise they called the "Giving Pledge", in which they promised to donate to charity at least half of their wealth over the course of time, and invited others among the wealthy to donate 50% or more of their wealth to charity."
That is an excerpt which you can confirm online. The bitter part of it is these 3 folks (not too sure of Warren Buffet) never believe in God's existence. I then wonder, there we have Pastors amassing wealth greedily in the name of God yet the people we call ungodly give with a BIG HEART of GOD. Or how can you explain Warren Buffet in addition to that saying he is giving 99% of his wealth to Charity over the course of his life - this is something he worked for all his life and not even tithes and offerings of some followers.

During the course of some research, i stumbled on a great man of God that lived in the 17th/18th Century called John Wesley and i wished he lived in my time. Anyway, His life style as a Pastor/Preacher really impressed me and i have decided to make him my mentor. The sad thing is i doubt if the legacy he left behind is being carried on by His Church today (The Methodist Church). Please read something about his life style on this link and let us as God give us the grace emmulate it. (http://saintluther..com/2007/05/about-money-john-wesley.html)

I do not really want to belabour you with a lot for there is still more for us to discover here. I am imploring you all, do not rush through. Please spend some time and read through this link and if possible have your bible besides you to make references where possible. At the end of it all, pray about it and make your judgement wether you should TITHE or NOT. Or even wether you should decide to give your TITHES to the POOR remmebering they are infact JESUS in His disguise or haven't you read the book of Mathew 25:35-46.
Here is a link that dealt well with the issue of tithing: http://www.letusreason.org/wf34.htm

I leave you with this, let us all spend time to reading our Bible. Let not leave our Christianity in the hand of the Leaders alone. Commit yourself to study and as you do so, the Holy Spirit Himself will help us understand what God's want us to do. Personally, i believe a lot of Church leaders have left Jesus' vision. Let's start looking onto Jesus and not only the leaders. Even where they were Chosen by God, they are still very much subject to falling. There are several examples in the Bible for us.

Shalom!

@Bioscom
Am sure, whoever started the post most likely did it out of the frustration he had seeing people homeless, miserable and forgotten while we have the spiritual leaders of the same people wallowing in affluence. I will not really refer to him as being sent by the devil but like have been saying in my previous post, lets see it as a wake up call for Christians to do what is right at all time.

Yes! Gold and Silver are God's,  the bible said, but He has not given it to us for ourselves alone but to affect lives out there. We are not expected to preach the word alone, but by practicing or following it with actions -"LOVE". Am not against a Pastors being rich and am sure whoever started the post most likely do not mean that.  But what are we doing with those riches?, are we using it the way God has commanded us to?
You might be making a mistake saying that in the developed world like America where KC lives, "You can't hear them talking about there pastors". Its because Pastors behaves themselves and must comply with the law of the land, if they don't its Jail. They have to be accountable. You can't take church money and use it just like that on yourself, if they do, the law is no respecter of anyone even if Mr President messes up they will bring him down. By the way, KC was already wealth before he got into ministry. As a matter of fact, he was a top hit artist in his days. I will compare him to Michael Jackson if they were to be singing around the same time. So the point here is he is a rich guy and investing his money to now become the richest pastor in the world shouldn't be a surprise to us.  As a matter of fact he would have gone to Jail if they had found anything dirty about him in some allegations in 2007.

Integrity and accountability is the key to us not being looked down on as a Christian and i will say it start from me and everyone. Let us remmeber to live like Jesus lived, Though rich, He was humble to death.

Thanks

bankylan and other friends!
I want to make a point here before i leave, like i mentioned earlier in my first post, blogging like this is not my thing but when i stumbled on this discussion, i felt passionate i should share my view. I was listening to a lady on CNN lately and she made a statement which interest me and will like to share before i make my comment:
She said: "I have Faith and not Dogma, Faith can handle questions when its being asked but Dogma cannot. Dogma sees questions as threatening and snaps at the appearance of it".
I want us all to think about that. I believe if we are walking truely in FAITH, we should not be afraid to answer questions. We should not feel threatened and immediately turn to the popular scripture: "Touch not my anointing". I implore that we should present our cases objectively. Our Bibles are there, it can easily be juxtaposed with the unethical behavior that is being exposed in this forum.

My Comment:
Don't let us be quick to assume everyone that is found on the Pulpit is a man of God my church included, and because a Pastor is rich (most likely through the congregations giving) and has thousands of members does not still certify him as a Man of God. I am born again and proud to voice it any day, i forge towards perfection everyday but even when i fall short and if someone identifies it and tells me, i will be happy for it and not says he/she is jugding me.

Take a look at this link below: http://www.articlesbase.com/politics-articles/redeemed-church-pastor-erastus-akingbola-to-surrender-68-million-to-intercontinental-bank-pastor-adeboye-4811186.html#axzz1PSPw7xwQ

That is a good example of the "so called" men of God, he is a Pastor, obviously pastoring a mega church, now he is in the hands of EFCC from the story and as a matter of fact UK has already slamed his account. Maybe we should approach the UK goverment and tell them: "Touch not my anointing". The point is if we talk like this, it shows that we have not really received Christ, what we practice in Nigeria is religion just like the Pharasis in the days of Jesus.

Another example is a Pastor i just read about now, i can't really even say much about him but just from this links below, it was obvious that his actions were act of the flesh and not God. And please read the book of Deutronomy 18: 21-22 after or before you read the link below and make a conclusion for yourself

See link: http://www.cp-africa.com/2011/02/04/pastor-bakare-god-told-run-buhari/

In all and again, i implore all of us to seek Jesus truly, not for those flashy things but for the heavenly glory that awaits us as a believer.
Shalom!

I wonder what your perception is about blessings and wealth as a Christian, and if its only about the money and the flamboyant life styles that some so called spiritual leaders and Christians engaged in then am sorry, you might be wrong. Take some time to understand what Paul said in the book of 1 Cor. 15:19 "If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable"(KJV). The Good word translation said: "If Christ is our hope in this life only, we deserve more pity than any other people". So if Christianity is all about i am richer than you, i have the best cars etc. that means we as Christians are so wrecthed and should be pitied. Think about it, there are alot out there that never believe in God and are materially rich. But my brother, the Faith we have is so rich and much more above the riches of this world, being in Christ is the best a man can have.

I hope you or anyone in this forum will not get me wrong, i will and can never support TRUE men of God being accused wrongly, it is unscriptural and I will not even be a party to Judging. But it is important for us to understand the difference between Judging and exposing the unfruitful works of some so called men of God. If we take time to read our Bible well, there are several warnings about false prophet etc. As a matter of fact some were even described as having the power to cast out deamons in Jesus name and do wonderful works, yet Jesus made it clear that they were not for Him. Where then will you put that? If you hide under the umbrella that exposing unethical and unspiritual works of some Pastors is evil, am sorry, the damage that will be done will live even after we are all gone.

Long story short, i try making a case in my earlier post and i will implore you to read through and also implore others in the forum to read it too. Its long but i assure you there is something in it. The bottom line is all Christians in the house should challenge themselves to know God more, let us start walking in TRUE LOVE. Lets be very concerned about the POOR, the SICK, the ORPHANS, WIDOWS, and as many has are HELPLESS around us. Reach out to them in love, give to them for those are the "JESUS" we see.

By the way: Having money and being rich is good, it is part of our inheritance as Children of God, it is just the love of it that should not be encouraged. I personally am doing very very well and i owe every bit of it to Jehovah

Hello friends!  sad sad
I must say I feel the passion of each and everyone that have commented on this post. Blogging is not really part of me but I feel passionate also to share my view. Before I go ahead, may I proudly let you know that I am a born again Christian, spirit filled and a heaven seeker. I implore you to give some time in reading this epistle, I understand it may be long but I promised as I have learnt in yours you will surely take something away from this too, trust me.

It is really saddening to see what the Gospel of our lord Jesus Christ has been turned to today, I feel bad when I read about Pastors and the way they amass wealth in the name of God. It is now widely believed even by Christians that the ONLY way to show that God is really working in your life is with riches; yet Jesus was quick to rebuke this saying in Luke 12:15 (NLT) “ … Life is not measured by how much you own”. Nowadays, people go to church looking for overnight prosperity, we have come to believe all you need is give God a 1000 and He will give you back a million. Walking in Love and holiness is not really important again as long as you can give money, as if God will eat those monies. Friends, I think it is high time we woke up from our slumber. Someone commented earlier that “My people perish for lack of knowledge”, Yes! You are greatly right but in my own opinion, I believe this knowledge were those we left un-studied in the Bible, those hours we should have used to meditate on the word and times we should have used to pray but we never did – living only the Pastors to do it for us. It is then not surprising if we are fooled by the enticing words of human wisdom as said by Paul the Apostle to the Corinthians (1Cr. 2:4). I think we asked for it.

I want people (especially my brothers and sisters in Christ) to understand one thing here, do not let us see every comment against Pastors as slanders or whatever it might have been called. If we as Christians have been humble enough to imitate Jesus truly, do you think we will be attacked in this manner? If we Christians have taken it upon ourselves to shine and truly be the light of the world, wouldn’t this world truly be a better place as we await His coming? But the reverse is the case. Brothers and Sisters do not seek after walking in love again. We see the poor, the sick, the less privileged but we prefer to give all our money to this so called spiritual leaders than giving it to this unfortunate ones. Where then is that LOVE that we preach? Where is the God of LOVE that we proclaim we serve? Has He not manifested Himself in that dying child, that all he need is just a meal? Has He not show forth Himself in that family  whom all they needed is our financial support, but we will rather only tithe to that Church than giving our widows mite to such unfortunate people. I guess the book of John said it all (1 John 4:20) which I paraphrased: We are only pretending that we love God, it is obvious that we do not really love Him if we can see those in lack and all we can do is turn our eyes away from them. And Jesus Himself did not mix words in the book of Mathew 25: 34-46.

Another disappointing truth is that it is now the world that is showing us how to love. I felt grieved in my spirit when I read what the likes of Bill Gate, Mark Zuckerberg and Warren Buffet are lately doing with their wealth. My grieve was not in what they are doing for it’s a kind gesture but how I wished this would be said of us Christians especially the rich ones and our so called Spiritual Leaders. I know some Christians are very Charitable and I pray that God empower more of us in reaching out like this. The truth of the matter is that these folks I just mentioned are far from being Christians; as a matter of fact Zuckerberg just lately claimed he is an atheist. Yet his expression of love (which is what Christianity stands for) is amazing. Those three I just mentioned are probably the richest in the world yet they came together to sign a promise called “Giving Pledge” , in which they promised to donate to charity at least half of their wealth over the course of time. Put that word in quote in google to read more or see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Zuckerberg . Yet our own spiritual leaders cling on to money as if that is what life is all about. Flying jets and building monuments with the blood of people. I called it blood because these are widows’ mite of a lot of Christians who have trusted them in the name of God and has been let down.

Friends! Have anyone of us here read about the life of someone like John Wesley, if you are interested please click on this link (http://www.urbana.org/articles/what-wesley-practiced-and-preached-about-money ) or just put into Google the word “John Wesley 28 pound” and you will find a lot of articles about him. This is a Pastor that revived the 18th century Christianity, tell me, do you think the world can say things like we hear about our Pastors today concerning this man who used most of his wealth to show what Christianity is all about? These days, the reverse is the case, if you are not grounded in the word of God, some Pastors will even make you doubt if there is truly heaven. Because the way they live does not add up to what they preach and what the Bible says.

Let us not forget that this same Christianity was brought to us by the Whites in those days, have we sat down to really think on how those folks preached it? They were not leaving like Kings yet they are Kings. They brought us Schools, gave us education, clothed us, built hospitals for our sick, and when they opened there mouth to tell us that Jesus is Love, we never needed to look too far. Their lives have shown it. Saint Peter Primary School, Saint Bernard Secondary School, Adventist Hospital etc. were in the community where I grow. The money paid to enjoy these facilities can never be compared to the investment. Look around you these days, virtually all the Churches including mine have a school yet a very large percentage of the members cannot afford it.  You will look at a brother who is an assiduous worker in the vineyard of God and what you see written all over his face is Poverty. But for the hope he has in Christ, he would have given up. And this is the same churches that will use billions to build camp grounds, use millions to build chapels and use millions to ride in big cars all in the name that our God is a big God.  Have we read about Solomon in the Bible and how the queen Sheba gasped seeing the man’s servants the way they were well kept and in wealth (2 Chronicles 9). Can we look at the life of Moses as he led the Children of Israelites – the man cannot even eat until the Israelites have eaten.

Where am I going with all this? I will just want to use this opportunity to challenge each and every one of us that we are the solution to this problem. It is important to note that Christianity is beautiful, and I have never regretted it since I got born again – I have been tremendously blessed spiritually and physically. In fact, it is live in its entirety so never miss out on being a practical born again Christian. Let us get back to the basis, let’s us practice Christianity the way it ought to be practiced. Let us be Charitable!!!. Instead of financing the frivolities of our so called spiritual leaders, let us spend time in discovering what God wants us to use our money for.  Let remember brothers in need, the sick, the poor, the orphans, widows etc.  Let’s invest in the poor – as a matter of fact it is a better investments compared to what they now use your money for today, it is as good as you are giving Jesus your money when you give to this unfortunate folks and scriptures confirms it (Mathew 25: 35-40). Let us acquire more wisdom in the word of God so that someone will not just mount the pulpit and in the name of God feed you with foolishness. Remember the Bible already warned us about it.

For my Christian brothers and sisters reading this, again I will say do not let us be fanatical about this whole thing. As we pray for these our leaders let us also watch, most of the allegations are true and we cannot run away from if we truly look inward. I pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to do His work of conviction in the lives of all Christians worldwide so that we can truly profess Jesus as He ought to be professed.

Thank you all for taking time to read my piece.
