lordofjustice: Biafrans locked it down with Yorubas in the politial section of nairaland where yoruba 'propagandists' and other biafra head hunters prepare and dish out all manner of lies and falsehood against the biafra struggle and emancipation. That is why nairalanders no longer see the e-war of calumny against biafra on front page of nairaland.

taiwo850629: If you have the Holy Spirit that's all you need to have. Just open your mouth and start to speak in tongues in faith. There's no tarrying or waiting of any kind. You have to start speaking in tongues the same way you appropriate God's other blessings- by faith. Believing you've received when you ask. You need to ask for the Holy Spirit not the tongues. The tongues come with the Holy Spirit. But if you already have the Holy Spirit just start speaking in tongues by faith. Thank you. But do you think this was the way the disciples spoke it at Pentecost? Do you think they could just open their mouths to speak and still had to tarry for days waiting for the promise of the father? Do you think this was the one Paul talked about? I am skeptical about this type of speaking in tongues. The Bible says it is the Spirit that gives utterances and it is the Spirit that gives these gifts based on the grace of God. If we could just open our mouths and make these utterances in faith, why would the Bible ask us to covet the Spiritual gifts? |

DoubleDeeX: 1 Corinthians 14:23
Therefore if the whole church comes together in one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those who are uninformed or unbelievers, will they not say that you are out of your mind?
1 Corinthians 12:29-30
Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?
^^^
Speaking in tongues is NOT for everybody; besides spiritual gifts are not even evidence of the holy ghost, because any of these gifts can be impersonated by demons. The evidence of the holy spirit is the life you live...The fruits of the spirit! You can't tell me that a serial fornicator and liar has the holy ghost because he/she speaks in tongues
Galatians 5:22-23
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!
^^^
When you receive the holy ghost, He will teach you and cause you to live a life pleasing before God....So, if you see yourself gossiping, telling lies, fornicating, partying and clubbing/drunkenness, loving material and worldly things etc just know that you do not have the holy spirit in you! That's all bro! You are a spiritual person. You said the right thing without sentiments. The fruit of the Spirit is Christlikeness;manifestation of the Spirit. God's spirit help us become little Jesuses here on earth. Just live like Jesus would have lived, then you are Spirit-filled. |

doubleportion: You don't need to be confused, you only need to seek for knownedge. If you are a believer it is your birthright, Jesus came preaching about a kingdom,if you are born again you belong to that kingdom and you know every kingdom has a language-1Cor 13:1. It is one of the signs that you are a believer- Mark 16:17. It also heralded the enduement of divine power for the purpose of witnessing to the perishing world. Acts 1:8, Acts 2:2-4.
All you need is to THIRST, ASK and BELIEVE in order to be baptised in the Holy Ghost for the first time, but it takes prayers to change from one level of anoiting to another.
Also it is a prayer language, when there is burden to pray, but you don't know what to pray about, just switch to the tongue you will later know why you pray. Please when you speak in tongues, are you supposed to be conscious you are speaking? Are you supposed to just WILL to speak in tongues and then start speaking? I am still waiting to get a few sincere believers who would tell me about their experience of the baptism in the Holy Spirit. It comes and overwhelms you and you just flow. Please tell me sincerely about your experience: do you force yourself when they ask you to pray in the spirit or do you allow the Spirit to take control of you? |

PenSniper: I stand by my presentation because it is an observation that has cut across several routes and years.
No luxirious bus plying inter-state routes is free of them. They have equally diversified to city and local buses and THEY ARE ALMOST ALWAYS OF THE IBO STOCK.
I REPEAT, THEY ARE DENIGRATING THE HOLY NAME OF CHRIST. IT MAKES ME ASHAMED AS A CHRISTIAN.
THEY NEED TO BE STONED. THEY SHOULD BE STOPPED. AGAIN, THEY HAVE AN ANNOYING WAY OF IMPOSING THEMSELVES ON COMMUTERS. SAY WHAT YOU WILL, BUT THATS THE TRUTH. THEY ARE ROGUES, IMPOSTORS AND FAKE PASTORS AND THEY ARE ALWAYS . . . IBOS. DEAL WITH IT THE WAY YOU LIKE AND SCHOOL YOURSELF AND NOT ME.
OR ARE YOU ONE OF THEM ? Please learn tact in point presentation. It would come handy one of these days. I am a Christian too and do not like how some of them present themselves as if the gospel is for sale. But then if you really know the scriptures ( I am doubly sure you are not grounded in the scriptures because of the way you made your presentations here), you would have seen how it played out in Paul's days and how he responded to it. Of course, I still maintain that you only see Igbos because you travel a lot with them. When next you write on a public forum, kindly desist from writing in caps. It makes it appear like you are shouting or you are somewhat not intelligent. |

PenSniper: Yes, CHRIST IS REAL alright but shameless and jobless ibo fake and 419 preachers should stop deningrating the holy name by preaching in buses and asking people to sow the seed for the word and for prayer. They are rogues.
Some preach and claim to represent phantom and phoney orphanage homes with photoshop images to deceive people they gather the money for helpless victims in dire conditions. They are rogues that should be stoned.
These criminals are ALWAYS IBOS. They invoke the name of CHRIST under false guises to defraud the gullible people in commercial and luxurious buses. There are intelligible ways to pass messages across without prejudice. It is a tact you might need to learn. I believe you only see the Igbos more because your line of business forces you to travel frequently with them. I don't think it is enof to run into your generalisation. |

Raymondville: I partially agree with your assertion because in the developed world accident cases are not much frequent as ours. The problem is with us and the NURTW. This association has been be taken over by touts, drunkards and paraga sellers and we trust our lives in their hands... I suggest that the solution will should be proper enlightenment and enforcement so as to get rid of touts in our parks. Also, mechanic shops to should be centred in all our parks to checkmate each vehicle loading passangers. NB: How will those that targets soole (pick and drop) ask questions about the state of the car?
But leave religion outta this. I am a Christian and I pray anytime I enter either a public transport or a personal car. I believe in God and his saving power and cannot entrust my life into any technology that can fail @ any time. You nailed it. We should take those precautions listed. However leave prayers out of it. One should still watch and pray (not bought prayers though). Both are important. |

huangcheng: The author of this piece doesn't have an idea about what happened after the civil war. Nigeria did not allow these engineers to disperse, some were killed while others absconded when they were being hunted. After the civil war, Nigerian forces were going from house to house searching for the educated class in Igbo land. God help you if you have any reading material in your house. They executed anyone who has as much as a novel in his house, if you use a reading glass, you'll be executed. They go as far as asking anyone they find suspicious if he/she can read and if you say Yes, you'll be shot.
People like my grandpa who were working at the Red Cross in Lagos back in the days, who later served in the Biafran war as a paramedic burnt their reading and writing materials including reading glasses. So you can imagine how bad it was. All those engineers ran underground and never spoke out or showed their talent for fear of being executed. |
