…Urges Citizens to Take Responsibility

Ambassador Dr. Osita Offor, “the Undefeated Ultimate Commander” and President of the United Abia Artistes & Patriots (UAAP), has praised Governor Alex Otti for his security initiative, calling it a bold step toward creating a safer Abia State. "We commend Governor Otti for his vision and commitment to the safety and well-being of Abia's citizens," he stated.

According to OHAFIATV, in a significant effort to enhance security in Abia State, Governor Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, has launched the Abia State Security Trust Fund. This public-private initiative aims to strengthen the operational capabilities of security agencies in the state. The launch event, themed "Building a Safer Abia," successfully mobilized over ₦3.4 billion from political and business associates to support the fund.

Speaking during the official launch held at the International Conference Centre in Umuahia, Governor Otti described the initiative as a key component of his administration’s holistic approach to crime prevention. He assured that all funds raised through the Trust Fund would be judiciously utilized to strengthen security across the state.

“Security is not the job of government alone. Every citizen has a role to play,” the Governor said. “This Trust Fund is designed to provide the resources needed to equip our security agencies to better protect our people and their property.”

Governor Otti recalled his commitment on assumption of office, to reclaim every part of Abia from the grip of criminal elements. He expressed satisfaction that peace has steadily returned to the state, attributing the progress to targeted interventions like Operation Crush. However, he emphasized that his administration would not rest until lasting security is achieved.

Also present at the event were the member representing Aba North and South in the House of Representatives, Hon. Alex Ikwuecheghe; the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mrs. Nkeiruka Onyejiocha; former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uche Ogah; the World Undefeated Heavyweight Wrestling Champion, Ambassador Dr. Osita Offor-De Ultimate Commander (President of Aba Commercial Smart City, and Global Leader of the United Abia Artists and Patriots Forum), Engr. In his address, the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Abia State Security Trust Fund, Mr. Obiamaraije Stanley, represented by the Vice Chairman, Sir Johnson Chukwu, explained that the Fund—established by law—is a public-private partnership initiative. It is aimed at mobilizing resources from both government and non-governmental stakeholders to enhance the operational capabilities of security agencies across the state.

Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion, Ide John Udeagbala, noted that every individual must take responsibility in supporting the governor’s efforts to achieve sustainable security. He stressed the need for citizens to be proactive by reporting any incidences of criminal activity to the appropriate authorities.

On a positive note, the trust fund has received contributions from several prominent individuals, including Chief Adedeji Adeleke, who donated ₦500 million; Chief Arthur Eze, who contributed ₦200 million; Chief Innocent Chukwuma of Innoson Motors, who pledged ₦100 million, N50 Million donation was made by Engr. Henry Okoroafor, N50 Million by Engr. Kelechi Orji, while Former Minister Uche Ogah also made commitment to monthly donations for one year.
Other donations include: N10 Million from De Ultimate Commander (in behalf of Aba Commercial Smart City), Hon. Alex Mascot Ikwuecheghe who donated N20 Million, and many others.

The Abia State Security Trust Fund is designed to achieve three key objectives:
- Enhance security infrastructure by providing support for operational equipment, intelligence systems, and technology to detect and deter crime.

The young man who is 53 years today maintains that his calling in leadership is to MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN ENUGU STATE (MAD IN ENUGU STATE), and he is remarkably MAD (Making A Difference) in just about everything that defines good governance. Yes, in the league of performing Governors, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah is a homo sequentum.

Peter Ndubuisi Mbah is MAD about the Security of Lives and Property, for which he set up the ultra-modern and sophisticated Enugu State Crime Control Centre from where premium time intervention in Crime Control is prime. From the Control Centre all the flashpoints of crime and violence are monitored, and within 5 minutes of any untoward action the Law Enforcement Agencies in the State are triggered to attend and put any untoward situation under control.

The Peter Mbah Government in pursuing a better secured State has supported the Security Agencies with Vehicles and several crime prevention facilities. The Government has also set up a Security Fund to augment State funding for improved security and expertise. To Governor Peter Mbah the task of securing and protecting Ndi'Enugu is the chief responsibility of his government.

I was opportuned to share a moment with Governor Peter Mbah 3 days after he was sworn in as the Governor of Enugu State, and when I enjoined him to make sure that he leaves his footprint on the sands of time, he retorted 'Prof I am not just going to do that, I'm here to MAKE A DIFFERENCE'. And the difference is lucid as Enugu State is scoring remarkable firsts in several aspects of leadership in the Country.

Peter Mbah has done great in so many ways, and there are several mind-blowing and eye popping infrastructure in today's Enugu State thanks to the enterprising commitment of the Governor and his Team.

The media is awash with the verifiable feats of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah. Partisans and non-partisans alike are awe-struck by the awe-inspiring strides of Enugu State under the watch of Governor Peter Mbah. Just a few weeks ago he was named the Governor of the Year 2024 by the Thisday and Arise TV Group. To the ebullient Governor of Enugu State the reward for good work, is more work, and such is the spirit and the commitment of the Peter Mbah led government.

Need I inform naysayers that no State in today's Nigeria has the level of Pipe Borne Water Projects ongoing in today's Enugu State. No State in Nigeria has the type of Smart Schools that Governor Peter Mbah is building across the State. And no State in Nigeria has the kind of Medical Centres and Facilities that Governor Peter Mbah is building across Enugu State. Indeed under the watch of Governor Peter Mbah the FUTURE IS HERE.

I celebrate Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah as he turns 53 years today, and urge him to continue to MAKE A DIFFERENCE in Enugu State. I commend his commitment to servant leadership. And challenge him to continue to redefine governance in Enugu State, for clearly Enugu State is unarguably one of the best governed States in today's Nigeria, if not the very best.

Finally, I must challenge other State Governors to deeper commitment to the common good, for leadership is only true and right where the greatest number are catered to.

Athorough investigation has uncovered a web of deceit and corruption surrounding Merridian Park Estate, a subsidiary of Lekki Gardens. This report highlights the shocking case of Hon. Ode and his wife, who fell victim to Merridian Park Estate’s unlawful practices.

The Rise of Merridian Park Estate and Lekki Gardens


Merridian Park Estate has been a major player in Nigeria’s real estate industry for over a decade, offering luxurious homes with top-notch amenities. However, beneath its successful facade lies a culture of impunity and disregard for clients’ rights.

A Blatant Breach of Contract

Hon. Ode and his wife entered into a contractual agreement with Merridian Park Estate for the purchase of a property, making full payment via bank transfers. However, Merridian Park Estate falsely claimed that the payment was incomplete and cancelled the contract, demonstrating a clear breach of contract and deceitful behavior.

A Trail of Deceit and Dishonesty

Despite providing proof of payment, Merridian Park Estate refused to acknowledge it. The matter was taken to court, and Emeka Onohwakpor and Co. represented Hon. Ode and wife while Ronke Akinola & Co. was the solicitor to Merridian Park, who later dropped out of the case after Hon. Ode petitioned the NBA about Ronke Akinola’s lying client.

The matter was proved beyond every reasonable doubt, upon which the court ruled in favor of Hon. Ode and his wife, ordering Merridian Park Estate to deliver the paid-for property. However, Merridian Park Estate continued disregarding the court’s ruling, falsely claiming that the property did not exist.

The Depth of Deceit

In a shocking twist, Merridian Park Estate began advertising the same property for sale, and unbeknownst to them, they sent a copy of their offer to Hon. Ode, using a different company name. This blatant disregard for the truth and the law demonstrates the extent of Merridian Park Estate’s deceitful practices.

Our findings revealed that the offer letter was sent to Hon Ode using a company name, Stone Hunters Limited, and the pictures of the same house Merridian Park said no longer exist were attached.

Consequences of Merridian Park Estate’s Actions


Merridian Park Estate’s actions have severe consequences, including financial losses, damaged relationships, and legal ramifications. Their deceitful behavior undermines the trust and confidence that clients place in them, and their disregard for the court’s ruling constitutes a clear contempt of court.

Recommendations

Compel Merridian Park Estate to deliver the property: Merridian Park Estate should be compelled to deliver the paid-for property to Hon. Ode and his wife, as ordered by the court.
Regulatory investigation: Regulatory bodies should investigate Merridian Park Estate’s business practices and take necessary actions to prevent further exploitation of innocent Nigerians.
Public awareness: The public should be aware of Merridian Park Estate’s unlawful practices to avoid falling victim to their scams.
Sanctions for contempt of court: Merridian Park Estate should face sanctions for their contempt of court, including fines and penalties.

Conclusion

I am compelled to respond to Femi Fani-Kayode’s recent claims that the 1966 coup was an “Igbo coup.” As someone who has studied Nigeria’s history and is passionate about setting the record straight, I must correct the inaccuracies and misconceptions perpetuated by Fani-Kayode.

While it is true that the coup leaders, led by Major Chukwuemeka Nzeogwu, were predominantly Igbo, it is misleading to characterize the coup as exclusively Igbo-driven. The motivations behind the coup were multifaceted, driven by a desire to overthrow the corrupt government and address regional imbalances, rather than advancing narrow ethnic interests.

Furthermore, it is essential to acknowledge that not all the coup plotters were Igbo, and that some non-Igbo officers were also involved in the coup. This fact alone undermines the notion that the coup was an ethnic conspiracy.

Ibrahim Babangida’s statement in his autobiography, which describes the coup as taking on an “unmistakable ethnic coloration,” has been cited by Fani-Kayode as evidence of the coup’s ethnic nature. However, this phrase can be interpreted in different ways, acknowledging the coup’s ethnic dimension without implying that it was exclusively an Igbo coup.

As we reflect on our nation’s history, it is crucial to approach these events with sensitivity, nuance, and a commitment to accuracy. By doing so, we can work towards a more informed and inclusive understanding of our shared past.

Let us not allow simplistic and divisive narratives to shape our understanding of Nigeria’s history. Instead, let us strive for a nuanced and accurate understanding of the complex events that have shaped our nation.

Let’s also take a closer look at IBB’s book, which actually suggests that the 1966 coup was not exclusively an Igbo coup. According to the book, some non-Igbo officers, such as Major Adewale Ademoyega, Captain Ganiyu Adeleke, Lts Fola Oyewole, and Olafimihan, were involved in the failed coup. Moreover, Major John Obienu, an Igbo officer, actually crushed the coup. This information contradicts the notion that the coup was an ethnic conspiracy.

Additionally, IBB’s book highlights that the initial purpose of the coup plotters was to release Chief Obafemi Awolowo from prison and make him the executive provisional president of Nigeria. This fact supports the argument that the coup was not driven by ethnic motives, but rather by a desire to address broader national issues.

It’s worth noting that Femi Fani-Kayode has misinterpreted IBB’s statement, claiming that the book acknowledges the coup had an “unmistakable ethnic coloration”. However, it is clear that FFK in his nature seems to be playing this sensitive card to score cheap political goals or to taunt emotions of the Igbo nation for many reasons like gaining favour of the present government, play the devil towards 2027 or simple to generate discussion on social media as alternative source of income for staying off the corridors of power for too long. The blatant inaction displayed by the Southeast Governors, who have chosen to metaphorically “play the ostrich,” is both alarming and unacceptable.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo demands an immediate cessation of this political evasion. The collective expectations of the Southeastern populace have been placed at the forefront, pressing these governors to rise to the occasion or confront the inevitable repercussions manifested through the electorate's choice at the ballot box.

We extend our sincerest assurances to the family of Nnamdi Kanu, acknowledging their deep frustrations regarding the Southeast Governors' failure to honor commitments made during their public meeting on July 2, 2024, in Enugu. At this well-publicized convening, the governors made a solemn pledge to engage with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in securing Kanu’s release from detention. It has come to our attention that, despite these commitments, there are alarming allegations from Kanu's family indicating a disturbing refusal among the Southeast Governors to respond to invitations from the President to discuss Kanu's situation. Should these allegations hold water, Ohanaeze Ndigbo will not hesitate to launch a thorough forensic investigation that seeks to uncover the reasons behind this troubling refusal.

From our analysis, it appears that the Southeast Governors exhibit a palpable nervousness that has translated into a cold-footed approach towards meaningful engagement with the Federal Government. The fear gripping them seems rooted in their apprehensions about providing assurances to President Tinubu, specifically that the aftermath of Kanu's release will not threaten the fragile unity of Nigeria. Such trepidation appears to stem from a genuine concern regarding the political implications of Kanu's potential release on their own re-election bids, particularly for four out of five governors, as well as on the Vice Presidential ambitions of one among their ranks.

The truth must be articulated plainly: this protracted delay can be traced to the lingering emotional turmoil these leaders harbor from the intense scrutiny faced by Senator Enyinnayah Abaribe, who stood surety for Kanu's release in 2017. The weight of historical fears should not dictate present actions.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo vigorously condemns the Southeast Governors' evident lack of political will and leadership resolve. Their hesitance to prioritize communal interests over personal political ambitions is intolerable. Decisive action must be taken to secure Nnamdi Kanu's release, disavowing any imaginary fears that may endanger their hope for re-election.

In the absence of affirmative leadership from the Southeast Governors, Ohanaeze Ndigbo is prepared to employ a grassroots and indigenous approach to facilitate Kanu's release. There is no escaping the fact that these governors appear to be stubbornly evading their responsibility to act decisively.

Moreover, it is imperative to state clearly that Ohanaeze Ndigbo's strategic support for President Tinubu's 2027 re-election hinges entirely upon the promise of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's release from detention. We firmly believe that the insecurity challenges plaguing the Southeast can be mitigated significantly following Kanu's liberation.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo is resolutely committed to offering itself as a possible surety, providing guarantees to President Tinubu that any arrangements made concerning Kanu’s release will align with the agreements reached to reinforce confidence and furnish the necessary assurances sought by the presidency. We are fully prepared to make personal sacrifices, including our liberties, in pursuit of Nnamdi Kanu’s release.

We earnestly implore the Igbo populace to exercise patience as we prepare the groundwork for these endeavors. The Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the Apex Igbo socio-cultural organization representing the interests and aspirations of the Igbo people, finds it imperative to address a matter of profound concern that threatens the integrity and democratic foundations of our esteemed organization. With less than 90 days until the scheduled Ohanaeze Ndigbo General Election on January 10th-11th, 2025, we feel compelled to issue an unequivocal warning against the surreptitious schemes that are purportedly being orchestrated by two governors from the Southeast.


Recent actions suggest that an unpatriotic Igbo organization has been mobilized to entice Chief Ikedi Ohakim, a respected former governor, into pursuing a non-existent position as President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo. We urge Chief Ohakim to summon his righteous resolve and unequivocally decline such temptations. At this stage of his life, with a rich and storied political history, we implore him to focus on the political landscape where his leadership is genuinely needed—whether that be as a Governor (for a single term), Senator, Vice President, or even the President of Nigeria in the near future. Should Chief Ohakim heed the voice of wisdom, Ohanaeze Ndigbo will fervently support his re-election as Governor of Imo State.


Chief Ohakim must take heed and be mindful of those deceitful political elites who have misled two Igbo elder statesmen from Imo State, leading them to dismal ends despite the numerous admonitions from the Igbo College of Archbishops and Bishops advocating for peace and restoration within Ohanaeze Ndigbo. He should recognize that the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo is presently in a constitutionally mandated transition period, and it would be both shortsighted and detrimental for him to act as an impediment to the emergence of the next President General from Rivers State.


As a sagacious leader, Chief Ikedi Ohakim is certainly aware of the sacred opportunity he was afforded during his tenure as Governor of Imo State from 2007 to 2011. In spite of the myriad challenges that marred his administration, the divine has cleansed his reputation; thus, it is incumbent upon him to reject the allure of those whose intentions do not align with the prosperity of our people. He must refuse any invitations to act as an obstacle in this critical transitional phase for Ohanaeze Ndigbo. The restoration of our Igbo lineage in Rivers State, which has suffered greatly since the Biafra War, is a mission requiring collective strength and unity.


We strongly condemn any attempts to amend the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Constitution with the aim of facilitating a tenure elongation for the current President General from IMO State by any means. Such actions are inherently illegitimate and betray the principles upon which our esteemed organization was founded. We characterize such proposals as sordid—satanic and barbaric in nature—and we wish to communicate this without any ambiguity.


Furthermore, we assert categorically: there is no justification for the underhanded maneuvering aimed at sidelining Rivers State in the election for the next President General. The collective identity of our lineage in Rivers has faced relentless challenges since the conclusion of the Biafra War in 1970, which have resulted in their marginalization. To deny Rivers State the opportunity to assume the position of President General in 2025 would constitute an egregious extension of 24 years of subjugation, an affront to the unity and aspirations of our people.


This is a clarion call for us to reclaim and fortify our bonds with our compatriots in Rivers State. Our efforts are both a political necessity and a moral obligation, echoing the responsibilities we hold toward one another as members of the illustrious Igbo heritage. We must dismantle the artificial barriers that have served to divide us since the end of the Biafra conflict.

As we approach the conclusion of the current President General’s tenure from Imo State, we reiterate that there is no vacancy to be filled through deceitful means. The palpable discontent permeating our communities—a reflection of the incessant tragedies we face—should serve as a resounding wake-up call to repudiate these entrenched illicit agendas. The deities of Igbo land and Chukwu Okike Abiama are displeased, and we implore all involved in these conspiracies to cease their treacherous designs and uphold the tenets of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Constitution, particularly regarding Rivers State’s rightful turn as President General.

Their insufficient responses to pressing security challenges have allowed inconsequential figures, such as Simon Ekpa, to exploit their weakened stance, issuing baseless threats to disrupt economic activities and peace within the region by declaring an illegitimate lockdown from August 28 to September 26, 2024.

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, has stated that President Bola Tinubu is not responsible for Nigeria's current economic challenges.

Worthy of note is that the said politician, Mr. Ousmane Yara is one of the prolific political mediators and strategic negotiators in modern Pan-African political history.
Born in Guinea Conakry, he is a Pan-African citizen with extensive knowledge and experience in political negotiations across Africa.

In her continued efforts at promoting health awareness around Africa and bolstering the image of her country around the globe, the energetic and pragmatic Senior Assistant to the President of Uganda, His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has taken her drive for greater inclusion of the African continent to Canada where she made case for awareness on Malaria and other terminable diseases plaguing Africa.

During the one day event of emomoratiion of world Malaria day that held in City Hall, Halifax NS, Canada on the 16th of April, 2024, the renowned preacher of the Gospel beamed light on the fact that more attention should be paid to creating awareness on the seemingly common disease that kills many children in Africa every second, insisting that Africans cannot champion the fight all alone, hence the need to take the message to Canada whose technological advancement, political orientation and humaniteriam policies can further help to salvage Africa and save her innocent children from the clutches of the deadly disease.

The Malaria Awareness campaign was organized by Drum Against Malaria {DAM) an offshoot of Challenge AIDS and Malaria in Africa (CHAMA), an advocacy group against Malaria that has been in the forefront of the war against Malaria in Africa for nearly 2 decades. The founder, Dr Olugu Ukpai lost his 16 months old baby girl to Malaria due to misdiagnosis while he was away on study trip to Canada. He later turned his pain to passion in saving lives from being lost to Malaria needlessly, an effort has saved many lives from Nigeria to Uganda, Zimbabwe, South Africa, etc where the Humanitarian efforts of passionate volunteer has resulted to over 900 free surgeries, free schools and Orphanages as well as empowerment for the vulnerable ones, especially single mothers. The drum as symbol of African culture is the emblem and medium of awareness that has been accepted by the Canada community, a case of passing important message through Africa entertainment.

For her tenacity and relentless disposition in fighting to change the narratives for Africa, the well attended event that attracted top echelon of the Canada lawmakers like the Mayor of Halifax, His Worship Mike Savage, Hon. Barbara Adams, Hon. Suzy Hendasen and other top personalities found the SA to Uganda President, Ms Phionah Burungi as worthy ambassador for the crusade for a better Africa and she was officially given the special award as DAM Cultural Ambassador for East Africa.

Among other responsibilities that comes with the elevated award, she is charged with responsibility of creating DAM across East Africa countries to deepen the awareness. She will be the DAM's face on the war against Malaria in East Africa through awareness and education.

Accordingly the ambassador of DAM is charged with the task of bringing report on her success story to DAM's annual event in Canada and liase with partners, companies, churches philanthropist etc., on this war as well as encouraging them to attend Malaria event in Canada every April from 2025. This will give her a wider reach and better authority as the face of Africa in the spirited effort at curbing Malaria and other deadly diseases in continent.

Esther Oge Global Foundation has intensified its campaign to combat Gender-based Voilence (GBV) while advocating for Women Development in Nigeria.

Speaking with Newsmen at Government House, the President and Founder of the foundation, Mrs. Esther Oge,a Nigerian-born American based Philanthropist who worked with Johns Hopkins medicine Baltimore Maryland, USA, said that the foundation is bringing joy to people, empowering and supporting families as a proactive way to tackle gender-based violence, poverty reduction, combats human trafficking, child labor and reduce crime.
Oge added that the plight of the girl child, Aged parents and vulnerable people in this part of the world is pitiable while stressing that Aged people needs geriatric support,love and care and constant awareness on the spread of HIV/AIDs and medication as well as avoiding stigmatization of those living with the virus is essential.

The project by the foundation was carried out in Egwuena Girls Secondary School, Abiriba in Ohafia Local Government and Ibeku HigH School, Umuahia in Abia State, Nigeria.

In a significant declaration, Ohanaeze Ndigbo reiterates its position on the Biafra issue, emphasizing support for a restructured Nigeria under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, rather than advocating for the restoration of Biafra. It acknowledges that the fervor around Biafra among the Igbo community stems from the amplification of ethnic, tribal, and religious divisions, as well as the Fulanization agenda under the previous administration of President Muhamadu Buhari, which led to the emergence of IPOB/ESN under Nnamdi Kanu.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo holds Former President Buhari responsible for upholding Nnamdi Kanu's significance. Had Buhari addressed the atrocities committed by violent Fulani herdsmen in the South, individuals like Sunday Igboho and Nnamdi Kanu would not have risen to defend the vulnerable Southern farmers. Thus, Ohanaeze Ndigbo attributes Nnamdi Kanu's actions to Buhari's inaction.

Discussing the steps needed for Nnamdi Kanu's release from detention, it is highlighted that Kanu was apprehended by Buhari's government with the aid of international collaborators, as reportedly confirmed by former Buhari spokesperson Mr. Femi Adesina. While expressing gratitude for the efforts of notable Igbo political, religious, and traditional leaders to secure Kanu's freedom, Ohanaeze Ndigbo notes the lack of outreach to those who felt offended by Kanu's activities, particularly those associated with President Tinubu.

Additionally, Ohanaeze Ndigbo commits to ensuring that Kanu ceases negative broadcasts against Nigeria's unity and instead pivots towards promoting a restructured Nigeria, now that he has shown willingness to negotiate with the Federal Government.

Furthermore, Ohanaeze Ndigbo raises concerns about certain Igbo leaders resorting to blackmail to extend their tenures by falsely labeling elected representatives as Biafra agitators to manipulate the constitution, thereby denying Rivers State its right to produce the President General by 2025. It clarifies that no member of Ohanaeze Ndigbo aligns with Biafra separatist groups, urging Biafra agitators to embrace peaceful dialogue with Southeast Governors to address criminal activities in the region.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo underscores the importance of relinquishing violent tactics and reverting to non-violent methods for self-determination, allowing security forces to deal with criminals exploiting the Biafra cause.

An All Progressives Congress Chieftain and a vocal politician in Abia State, Chief Chidiebere Okoh, has praised the senator representing the good people of Abia North Senatorial Zone for his unparalleled leadership disposition in bringing dividends of democracy closer to the people through human-friendly intervention and developmental initiatives that have never been seen in the zone

"Since stepping into this office as Abia North Senator, you have initiated and carried out many road projects, supported rural agricultural programs, and empowered the youths through free education and skills acquisition throughout the zone. No wonder you have continued to be close to the heart of the people as the people's senator.

"Your interventionist policies have ensured that many communities of Abia North Zone who were groaning under the pains of dilapidated and unpassable roads now enjoy the beauty of modern road networks even to the most remote areas of the zone. Chief Chidiebere Okoh, the Convener and Director of Market Youth Congress (MYC), a good governance and democratic advocacy pressure group in Nigeria also cautioned the Abia All Progressives Congress, APC to be careful of how they welcome old and expired People Democratic Party politicians who are cross carpeting to APC. He expressed worry that they may be coming over to the APC as spies and moles that will further cause disharmony while the party is healing for a better future.

"It is worrisome that all the bad eggs of the People's Democratic Party in Abia have chosen to abandon their camps where they fed fat on the pains of the masses, boldly decamping to APC and it is happening before the All Progressives Congress (APC) zonal caucus meeting, which is scheduled for Tuesday, April 2, 2024.
These individuals include Mr. ACB Agbazuere, the former chief of staff to the state’s most recent governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, Eze Chikamnayo, a former information commissioner, and Uzor Azubuike, a former member of the House of Representatives should not be welcomed to APC with open hands because they're the problem of PDP and has proven to be fair weather politicians.

The Presidency and his boys should wake up to their responsibility of fixing Nigeria and stop acting as if every Nigerian is blind because they are holding the helm of affairs on behalf of Nigerians. Gone are those days when they come up on National Dailies to twist our minds on realities of governance, no, today we are in the era of social media that doesn't easily forget as evidence always abounds for anyone interested in the truth to confirm it.

It is a shame that the current administration has continued to make the Labour Party's presidential candidate in the 2023 general election their bone of contention at a time greater percentage of Nigerians are enduring hunger and starvation-induced by ill-informed policies and decisions of the administration, yet they come up on our national TVs and other fora to discuss Peter Obi instead of hunger, starvation, insecurity and struggling FX induced inflation on the economy.
They do it as if Peter Obi was the only contestant in 2023, why? If they are doing everything right, they should be less worried about 2027 and deliver on their mandate for time to be the deciding factor, not propaganda.

The latest outburst of the Presidency through Bayo Onanuga, the Special Advisor on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, that Obi incited religious and ethnic tensions during the 2023 Nigerian elections is a big fat lie that must be called out. Rather, it was the desperate APC led by Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu that not only introduced religion and ethnicity but also acted it out on all fronts during the balloting. Let me give you a few instances.

A leadership that is pointing at religion to dent their perceived opposition is the one that settled for a Muslim-Muslim ticket for the first time in Nigeria and still went away with it. They were so religiously desperate that they created fake Bishops and priests to endorse the abnormality, and we moved on as if nothing happened. But they pushed religious sentiment to Peter Obi because he visited a Church as a Christian and he was welcomed like everywhere else he went. In their tribalistic manner with subtlety, a supposed private conversation with a popular Pastor of Yoruba origin finds its way to the public domain and we get engulfed in discussing it and forgetting the Muslim-Muslim Ticket that was bothering us. They know exactly how the mind of the average Nigeria works and know how to manipulate it through the media at their disposal, So on what moral grounds is Onanuga talking about Peter Obi introducing religion to Nigerian politics when they were the ones who did not just introduce it, but they rode on it to snatch power by all means?

As for the ethnicity angle, we know who are the merchants of playing ethnic cards. That Tinubu brought a demonic same-faith ticket and Emilokan ethnic, tribal, and thuggery brand of politics is not a crime for Onanuga because in Nigeria the winner takes all. The ethnic card was their only guarantee to frustrate other tribes from winning them in Lagos and other Yoruba lands because their enlightened sons and daughters were strong proponents of the obedient movement. They were scared of the unity of purpose and Tinubu played that dangerous card and It worked for him. They were so desperate at it that they added violence and intimidation to it in public glare and at the end of the day, the proponents of those shameful acts in supposed ONE Nigeria are the Lords of the farm deciding what is right or what is wrong.

Mr. Bayo Onanuga should know that what created the Obidient movement was a necessity and desire for a paradigm shift and it cuts across creed, religion, tribe, and ethnicity, and is devoid of propaganda

Since you succeeded in snatching the power to make changes, focus on doing the right thing because neither Peter Obi nor his Obidents are responsible for your bad choices in policy that forced hardship on Nigerians. The way you have jettisoned governance to focus on Obi is a sign of your discomfort. You don't need to tell us you're not distracted because we already know how distracted and scared you have been for a man not in power to be getting attention both home and abroad more than all the power-holders put together. If you perform well enough, you shouldn't be too worried about 2027.

Don't be the Igbo proverbial Okorie that busied himself with chasing rats while his house was totally on fire.

The Presidency has charged Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party, LP in 2023, with bringing "two dangerous things" into Nigerian politics during the previous elections.

Bayo Onanuga, the Special Advisor on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, charged that Obi incited religious and ethnic tensions during the previous Nigerian elections.

According to Onanuga, Tinubu's administration has no intention of addressing Obi and the Obidients, who are his followers.

The presidential adviser promised that Tinubu's administration stayed undistracted and focused while featuring at MIC On with Seun Okinbaloye. He declared: "We don't want our attention to be drawn away from the emphasis of what the government is trying to accomplish as we are now occupied with governing. We are so busy that we aren't even able to glance at them right now.

"What I know about Obi's campaign is that, for the first time in a very long time, we had a candidate in our country who was igniting ethnic passion, and that's how the election proceeded at that time. He was igniting religious and ethnic passions, bringing two dangerous elements to our politics: religion and ethnicity. "He did that, and those actions were harmful to our politics."

Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu has asked Olumba Olumba Obu, the spiritual head of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, to offer prayers for the state's release from "occultic and satanic" forces that would have prevented it from moving forward.

On Sunday, Otu gave a message of kindness at the UJ Esuene Stadium in Calabar.
The Brotherhood of the Cross and Star had organised a programme titled "Divine Assurance of Christhood" to commemorate Easter.

Otu stated ,through the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Chief Victor Felix Idem. "We are especially pleased that His Holiness Olumba Olumba is a revered and respected spiritual leader that has drawn global traffic of worshippers to the state,.

"Religious tourism and your contributions have made the state government very happy." We humbly ask that you pray for the state to be freed from any occult or demonic powers that could be influencing it.

Speaking at the event were other dignitaries who urged the spiritual leader to pray for the nation and state. Olumba Obu was praised for being the top private employer of labour in the state. The Brotherhood of the Cross and Star has used its distinctive teachings to influence thousands of Nigerians and people from other nations, according to Senator B.W. Deg, a former deputy governor-elect in Bayelsa State who also spoke at the occasion.

The religious organization's secretary general, Degi, said that the nation will see progress as a result of the Divine Assurance event. Olumba Obu said that God has interceded in human history while addressing the throngs of devoted guests at the ceremony.

He urged all countries to follow the teachings of forgiveness and peace, stating that the celebration's goal was to promote everyone who upholds the Christ's beliefs to the status of a Christ.

Youths Charges Older Politicians To Change Baton "We're Ready To Fix Nigeria"

A national body under the umbrella of the National Youth Alliance, a gathering of awakened youths who believe that it is time to step into the big shoes and steer Nigeria to the path of progress, development and emancipation with fresh ideas backed with energy to achieve greatness, has urged the older generation of leaders who has done their best to step aside, hand over the baton and let the youths finish the race to restore Nigeria's glory.

This was contained in a hearty statement singed by the President of NYA, Ambassador Bin Abbas and forwarded to OHAFIATV News on Thursday. The group is a conglomerate of Nigerian youths which has nothing to do with party or any candidate. it’s a collective idea from aggrieved and angry young Nigerians from APC, PDP, Labour Party, NNPP, etc.

Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to share with you my reflections on a matter that weighs heavily on my heart—the state of leadership in our beloved Nigeria.

You see, Nigeria, with all its abundance of human and natural resources, remains trapped in a cycle of underdevelopment and stagnation. And why is that? It's because our elders, our forefathers, have clung desperately to power, refusing to pass the baton of leadership to the next generation.

I look back at history, and I see leaders like Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Herbert Macaulay, who took the reins of leadership in their 20s and 30s. They were young, vibrant, and full of promise, and they paved the way for progress in our nation. But now, as we stand on the precipice of the future, our youth are still relegated to the sidelines, mere followers in a game they were promised to lead.

It's like a relay race, you see. Life is like that relay race. We have to pass the baton to the next runner, to propel us forward toward the finish line—the future. But our elders, they hold onto that baton with white-knuckled fists, afraid to let go, afraid to trust the youth to carry it forward.

And what is the result of this fear, this reluctance to embrace change? It's a Nigeria where the brightest minds flee to foreign shores in search of opportunity, leaving behind a country mired in poverty and strife. It's a Nigeria where the promise of a better tomorrow remains just that—a promise, unfulfilled and fading.

But it doesn't have to be this way. No, it's time for a change. It's time for our elders to loosen their grip on power and pass the baton to the youth—the leaders of today, not just tomorrow. We are ready, we are capable, and we are eager to take up the challenge of building a better Nigeria.

So, to my fellow Nigerians, to the elders who hold the keys to our nation's future, I say this: Trust us. Believe in us. And together, let's forge a path forward toward a brighter tomorrow, where the labor of our heroes past shall never be in vain.

Kalu, Another Officer Killed As Police Station Is Attacked in Awka.

The people of Ogbu in Awka on Monday 25th March 2024, woke up to another sad news of the sacking of a police station in Anambra town and the killing the two police officers on duty. 

According to information available to us form a concerned citizen,  the Ogbu Police station was attacked by yet-to-be-identified gunmen around 2 am on this fateful day, and upon arrival of the invaders,  the officers on duty engaged them in a prolonged gunfight to defend the station and possibly repel the determined attackers 

Unfortunately,  the two officers were overpowered when they ran out of bullets without backup from colleagues or any kind of reinforcement.  They were killed in the process because of a lack of proper equipment to do their work of protecting the people. They paid the ultimate price.

One of the Victims, a determined and fearless Mobile Police Officer by the name of Nathaniel from Ohafia and his yet-to-be-identified Colleague are not the kind of officers to give in to fear if they were equipped by the authorities to perform their duties of protecting the citizenry. This is a cause for concern that our force men and and women will continue to lose their lives needlessly because they lack the proper equipment to face the times we live in.
