Mark Ugorji Declares Reps Bid, Promises Real Change for Ikwuano/Umuahia https://www.ohafiatv.com/mark-ugorji-declares-reps-bid-promises-real-change-for-ikwuano-umuahia/ In a moment charged with emotion, conviction, and years of quiet preparation, Hon. (Sir) Mark Ugorji has stepped forward with a bold promise—to rewrite the story of representation for the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency. Declaring his ambition amid supporters and community stakeholders, Ugorji’s message resonated deeply: “This is not just a political ambition—it is a call to serve.” His entry into the race signals a potential shift in Abia’s political landscape, driven by grassroots connection, tested experience, and a vision many say the constituency urgently needs." "Hon. Mark Ugorji has declared his candidacy for the House of Representatives seat for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency in Abia State, promising effective representation, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, and transparent leadership, backed by over a decade of grassroots political experience." Hon. (Sir) Mark Ugorji has formally declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency of Abia State. Ugorji made the declaration shortly after addressing party stakeholders at the All Progressives Congress (APC) secretariat in Ubakala, Umuahia, and later spoke in an interview with famousreporters.com at his country home in Olokoro Ukwu, Umuahia South Local Government Area. Speaking amidst an aura of confidence, he stated: " I have gathered my people here today to formally declare my intention to contest for the House of Representatives, to represent the good people of Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, at the National Assembly. This is a call to service, driven by my passion to deliver quality representation and real development to our people.” Speaking on his long-standing ambition, Ugorji emphasized that his decision was the product of years of preparation: “This is not a sudden decision. It is a long-term dream I have nurtured for over 10 to 15 years. Over time, I have played active roles in grassroots political development—from my ward to the local government level—contributing to party growth and community mobilization. This journey has prepared me for the responsibility ahead.” On leadership and representation, he stressed the importance of performance over tenure: “What determines whether a leader remains in office is performance, capacity, and track record. We have seen first-time lawmakers across the country perform excellently. "Representation is about results, not tenure.” Highlighting his development agenda, Ugorji outlined key priorities including infrastructure, employment, and transparent governance: “The essence of representation is to bring the dividends of democracy closer to the people. Our people deserve functional roads, improved electricity, employment opportunities, and accessible leadership. I will ensure that constituency projects are attracted and executed transparently, while opportunities are fairly distributed.” Reinforcing his credibility, he pointed to his philanthropic track record: “I am widely known for my philanthropic efforts. In my community, I have consistently supported individuals and groups through empowerment, financial assistance, and community interventions. Leadership, to me, is about service.” Looking ahead, Ugorji presented a broader vision for the constituency: “My vision is holistic development for Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency. I will focus on infrastructure, youth empowerment, education support, healthcare improvements, and attracting federal presence to our constituency.” On political trust and loyalty, he acknowledged the unpredictability of politics but emphasized sincerity: “In politics, you cannot completely predict human behavior. However, I believe in sincerity, connection, and consistent service. I will continue to engage my people honestly and respectfully.” He concluded with a unifying message: “I call on all my people to support this movement. I am ready to serve. I am prepared to deliver. And together, we can build a better future for our constituency.”

HRH Eze Bobby Aguocha issues clarion call to all Igbo sons and daughters; says “Igbo Unity Is Our Strength https://www.ohafiatv.com/hrh-eze-bobby-aguocha-issues-clarion-call-to-all-igbo-sons-and-daughters-says-igbo-unity-is-our-strength/ As we approach the critical period of 2027, it is clear that our collective strength as a people depends on unity, strategy, and engagement. Too often, the Southeast divides its voice across multiple fronts, weakening our influence and diminishing the impact of our participation in national discourse. To our youths, who are the heartbeat of Igbo progress: your energy, your activism, and your unwavering demand for accountability are the beacons that can guide us toward meaningful representation. Channel your voices into constructive platforms that uplift Igbo interests and advocate for our collective advancement. We must also confront the realities of marginalization and insecurity with resolve and purpose. Our people deserve leadership that addresses these challenges, not token gestures. National inclusion is not merely symbolic—it is essential for sustainable development, security, and dignity. Now is the time to rise above fragmentation, coordinate our efforts, and speak with one strong, united voice. Let us prioritize the Igbo cause over personal ambition, and let every step we take be guided by the vision of a Southeast that is respected, heard, and fairly represented in Nigeria’s national affairs. Together, we can ensure that 2027 marks a defining moment for Igbo unity, influence, national recognition and prominence. We are stronger together as a people when our purpose isl harnessed and well-articulated. HRH Eze Bobby Aguocha (Ohuruzo 1) Grand Patron, Ezenaebiri

Tracy Ohiri Needs Psychiatric Help; Nigerians and Ndigbo Compensated Her, Not Umahi – Ohanaeze Clarifies https://www.ohafiatv.com/tracy-ohiri-needs-psychiatric-help-nigerians-ndigbo-compensated-her-not-umahi-ohanaeze-clarifies/ Date: 22nd March 2026 The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, the apex Igbo sociocultural organization, is duty-bound to present an unadulterated and straightforward message to the public regarding Mrs. Tracy Nicholas Ohiri. It has become alarmingly evident that Mrs. Ohiri is in desperate need of immediate psychiatric help. It appears that she may be suffering from dementia or memory-related issues, although she may be unaware of this condition. Nigerians and Ndigbo were left aghast when Mrs. Tracy Nicholas Ohiri, whom we had privately cautioned about the perils of blackmailing public government officials and successful businessmen, resurfaced with new baseless allegations. This time, she targeted her lawyer, Barr. Marshall Abubakar, and other human rights activists who stood by her during her arrest and prosecution for the false sexual harassment claims against Senator Dave Umahi. It is truly astonishing that just a few days after she voluntarily and without any coercion tendered a public apology to Senator Dave Umahi, the Minister of Works, and pleaded for his forgiveness, while also disowning her fabricated statements and recanting the sexual harassment allegations, she has now come up with fresh accusations. This behavior reaffirms our earlier suspicion that she is acting on the instructions of opposition coalition leaders from the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Their malicious intent is to undermine the integrity of the hard-working Minister of Works, Senator Umahi, and divert his focus from fulfilling his constitutional duty of fixing Nigeria's roads. For the sake of clarity and to set the record straight, Ohanaeze Ndigbo wishes to emphasize that Senator Dave Umahi never paid Tracy Ohiri any form of monetary compensation, let alone the alleged 70 thousand dollars (equivalent to 100 million Naira). Instead, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, on its own initiative, privately reached out to well-meaning Nigerians and Igbos. These individuals, considering her supposed repentance and the public apology she made to a respected political leader like Senator Umahi, felt that she deserved a small compensation for herself and her family. Now that the circumstances surrounding the compensation received by Tracy Ohiri have been clearly explained, it is incumbent upon us to call on her to abide by her earlier statements and the public apology she made. For the sake of peace, she must desist from further false accusations. If she is arrested again and fails to prove her claims in a court of law, neither Ohanaeze Ndigbo nor anyone else will be in a position to shield her from the consequences of her actions. We, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, earnestly call on her family to assist her in seeking urgent medical and psychiatric treatment. It is high time to address the underlying issues that seem to be driving her erratic and irresponsible behavior. Known for his hands-on leadership and a deep understanding of the needs of his people, Chief Umunna is emerging as a politician who is not just in politics for the title, but to deliver meaningful results. From grassroots engagement to community development, his approach has consistently demonstrated a rare combination of vision and action. He is the type of leader who listens first, then implements programs that improve livelihoods, empower youth, and uplift communities. Ohanaeze Ndigbo Warns Peter Obi, ADC to Stop Funding Ohiri’s Blackmail, Anti-Umahi Protests https://www.ohafiatv.com/ohanaeze-ndigbo-warns-peter-obi-adc-to-stop-funding-ohiris-blackmail-anti-umahi-protests/ OHANAEZE NDIGBO PRESS RELEASE – 05 MARCH 2026 The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, considers it a matter of profound national significance and, compelled by its moral responsibility, issues this communiqué. We issue a stern warning to Mr. Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State, and the leadership of his political party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC). We categorically demand an immediate halt to all financial and logistical support directed at individuals and groups who, under the guise of civil rights activism, are engaged in a malicious campaign of calumny. Their deliberate objective is to tarnish the reputation and undermine the integrity of Senator Dave Nweze Umahi, a distinguished Igbo leader and the current Honorable Minister of Works. Credible intelligence, supported by recent events, confirms our suspicion. The anti-Umahi protests on Wednesday, 4th March 2026, at the Ministry of Works in Abuja, display clear signs of orchestration by opposition forces. The active participation of known allies of Mr. Obi, including Ms. Oruche Precious (Mama Pee) and Peter Akah, reinforces this conclusion. Let it be unequivocally stated: The Ndigbo, having closely examined the situation, conclude that Mr. Peter Obi and the ADC are, either directly or indirectly, exploiting individuals like Mr. Nicholas Ohiri as political pawns. These actors are being used to spread unfounded accusations and engage in blackmail, with the sole purpose of diverting the Honorable Minister of Works from his duties and delaying the delivery of transformative infrastructure projects championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Further intelligence reveals a meticulously planned strategy by the ADC ahead of the 2027 elections. Recent political maneuvers by Mr. Obi’s associates indicate that key allies of President Tinubu are being systematically targeted for political blackmail. Following Senator Umahi, it appears that the Hon. Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Nyesom Wike; the Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Matawalle; and others are likely next. The ADC’s approach relies on intimidation and the spread of falsehoods rather than presenting credible alternatives or policies. Senator Umahi remains steadfast and undeterred by these petty machinations. The Igbo youth, fully aware of the gravity of the situation, have been tasked with safeguarding him from any form of physical confrontation. The Igbo nation stands united, committed to protecting Senator Umahi from blackmail, intimidation, or disruption of his mandate. 2027: Peter Obi Not the Anointed Igbo Candidate; Ohanaeze Backs Umahi on Tinubu's Efforts to End Igbo Marginalization https://www.ohafiatv.com/2027-peter-obi-not-the-anointed-igbo-candidate-ohanaeze-backs-umahi-on-tinubus-efforts-to-end-igbo-marginalization/ Ohanaeze Ndigbo Press Release - 15th February 2026 The apex Igbo sociocultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, mindful of its enduring responsibility to safeguard the collective interests of the Igbo people, issues this definitive statement with the utmost clarity and forthrightness. This message is directed specifically to all Igbo presidential aspirants, and most particularly to Mr. Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State. It is the considered and resolute position of Ohanaeze Ndigbo that the pursuit of the Igbo presidency in 2027, given current political realities and strategic considerations, represents a perilous endeavor, an improbable undertaking, and a potential miscalculation. Furthermore, the amendments to the 2022 Electoral Act, as initiated by the 10th Nigerian Senate, significantly diminish the prospects of victory for any candidate operating outside the existing ruling coalition in the upcoming presidential elections scheduled for 20th February 2027. Consequently, Ohanaeze Ndigbo reiterates its previously stated position: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is, by all observable indicators and prevailing circumstances, the frontrunner in the 2027 elections. Ohanaeze Ndigbo unequivocally supports the declaration of the Honorable Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, that President Tinubu has effectively addressed the long-standing issue of Igbo marginalization. We acknowledge and concur with Senator Umahi’s candid counsel to Mr. Peter Obi, which we deem to be both truthful and prudent. Mr. Obi, we must state plainly, was not an "Igbo Candidate" in the 2023 presidential elections, and the likelihood of such a designation in 2027 remains negligible. This is not to diminish Mr. Obi’s inherent right, as a citizen of Nigeria, to pursue the presidency in 2027 in his individual capacity. This clarification is deemed essential to preclude any misinterpretation. Mr. Obi’s personal ambition to vie for the 2027 presidency should not be conflated with a cohesive "Igbo Project." We affirm that Mr. Obi has never, publicly or privately, proclaimed himself as the "anointed Igbo Candidate" – neither in the 2023 elections nor in anticipation of the 2027 elections. For the avoidance of any doubt, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is demonstrably addressing the remnants of the Biafran War, a conflict that officially ended in 1970. Ohanaeze Ndigbo extends its profound gratitude to both President Tinubu and Senator Umahi for their proactive efforts in addressing the neglected federal expressways, infrastructure that suffered severe degradation during the Nigerian-Biafran War (1966-1970). For over fifty-three years, Ndigbo have witnessed the systematic neglect and deliberate deterioration of road infrastructure in the Southeast by previous administrations. President Tinubu's appointment of Senator Umahi as the first Igbo Minister of Works represents a strategic and momentous step toward addressing the longstanding grievances of the Southeast and correcting historical marginalization within the Nigerian polity. Amb. Dr. Osita Offor Sends New Year Message to Ndi Abia, Reiterates Support for Dr. Alex Otti Leadership https://www.ohafiatv.com/amb-dr-osita-offor-sends-new-year-message-to-ndi-abia-reiterates-support-for-dr-alex-otti-leadership/ President, United Abia Artistes and Patriots (UAAP) Forum Ndi Abia, I greet you with deep respect and renewed hope as we step boldly into a new year. The year now behind us was one of reflection, resilience, and redefining purpose for our dear Abia State. It was a year that tested convictions, strengthened alliances, and reminded us that meaningful progress is never accidental—it is the product of intentional leadership and collective responsibility. As President of the United Abia Artistes and Patriots (UAAP) Forum, I witnessed firsthand the evolving narrative of Abia: a state steadily reclaiming its dignity, rebuilding trust in governance, and repositioning itself for sustainable growth. This transformation did not occur in isolation. It was driven by leadership anchored on discipline, transparency, and service. I must, therefore, acknowledge the working relationship and shared commitment between myself and the Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR. Over the past year, our engagements—whether formal or informal—have been guided by a singular objective: the progress and wellbeing of Ndi Abia. Governor Otti’s leadership style, defined by prudence, courage, and accountability, has begun to restore confidence in public institutions and inspire renewed belief in what Abia can become. His approach to governance—firm yet inclusive, visionary yet practical—has positively impacted critical sectors of our state and rekindled hope among professionals, creatives, youths, and patriots who had long yearned for purposeful direction. Leadership, after all, is not about noise, but about results, and Abia is beginning to feel those results. For us in UAAP, the past year reaffirmed the significance of our forum. UAAP remains a rallying platform for Abia’s artistes, intellectuals, cultural ambassadors, and patriots—those who use creativity, influence, and conscience to shape public opinion and defend the soul of our state. We are not spectators in Abia’s journey; we are stakeholders and partners in progress. As we enter this new year, I renew my unwavering confidence in the UAAP community and our allies. I urge us to remain united, principled, and constructive. Let us continue to support policies and leadership that advance the common good, while also speaking truth with courage when necessary. Our strength lies in unity, and our relevance lies in purpose. To Ndi Abia at home and in the diaspora, I say: this is our season to believe again. Believe in Abia. Believe in responsible leadership. Believe in the power of culture, patriotism, and collective action. May this new year bring peace to our communities, prosperity to our people, and wisdom to those entrusted with leadership. Together, we shall build the Abia of our dreams. Happy New Year, and God bless Abia State. *Amb. Dr. Osita Offor "Ultimate Commander" (IKENGA GBURUGBURU, EBUBE MBA)* *President, United Abia Artistes and Patriots (UAAP) Forum*

HRH Eze Bobby Aguocha, emphasizes that Nigeria’s true measure of progress lies in rural well‑being https://www.ohafiatv.com/hrh-eze-bobby-aguocha-emphasizes-that-nigerias-true-measure-of-progress-lies-in-rural-well-being/ Ohuhu, Abia State – In a stark reminder that national development must be gauged by the condition of its most remote communities, HRH Eze Bobby Aguocha, Grand Patron, Ezenaebiri and Ohuruzo of Umuohuru Kingdom, has stated that “the yardstick of measurement in Nigeria should be the rural areas. Until they begin to do as well as those in the city, we are not doing well.” Speaking ahead of the upcoming holiday season, the traditional ruler questioned the affordability of a decent Christmas lunch for many rural dwellers and highlighted the precarious health status of those living outside urban centres: “As the holidays are fast approaching, how many in the rural areas can afford a good Christmas lunch? How many are healthy enough to believe they will be alive to witness this Christmas?” The revered monarch stressed the vital link between health and national wealth, noting, “Health is wealth and that statement is significant. I am really tired of burying the dead when their death could have been prevented if there had been adequate medical attention.” He lamented the frequent loss of Elders with wisdom in our communities and pointed out that “Most of our communities no longer have aged elders in their nineties. These were men who traditionally held our lands together for us, while calling on our ancestors for daily intercessions over unruly behaviors in our various communities. Their indepth wisdom and knowledge of the land can not be overemphasized. Old age is about maintenance, without adequate Healthcare benefits and welfare package, they will not survive to tell our stories.” Concluding his remarks, the monarch expressed a personal conviction: “I'm tired of burials that could be avoided. As a human being with a conscience, I prefer to sleep well and snore like tomorrow is guaranteed to me because someday I will get very old, and I would like to be assured that I will not die out of negligence but at a ripe age to meet my maker.” HRH Eze Bobby Aguocha’s call underscores the urgent need for policymakers to prioritise rural healthcare and economic development, ensuring that Nigeria’s progress should be measured by the well‑being of its most vulnerable populations.

Abia North Deserves Fresh Voices — Emeka Kalu Rebukes Orji Uzor Kalu’s ‘Ownership’ Claim as Outdated https://www.ohafiatv.com/abia-north-deserves-fresh-voices-emeka-kalu-rebukes-orji-uzor-kalus-ownership-claim-as-outdated/ I want to address the recent statement made by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, in which he claimed that the Abia North Senate seat belongs to him until he has completed his term. Such a statement, coming from a former governor and current senator, is not only undemocratic but also disrespectful to the collective will of the people of Abia North, who have the constitutional right to freely elect their representatives. Let it be clear: no individual owns a democratic seat in Nigeria. The Senate seat for Abia North belongs to the people, not to any individual, family, or political dynasty. Power originates from the people, and no amount of personal entitlement or boastful rhetoric can override the sovereign rights of the electorate. While Senator Kalu is entitled to his ambitions, he must also respect the principles of democracy, which demand open competition, fairness, and accountability. The 2027 elections will not be about personal ownership; rather, they will focus on competence, integrity, and service delivery—values that the people of Abia North have long sought. For the record, we are not intimidated by any claims of political monopoly. Abia North deserves fresh ideas, purposeful leadership, and a voice that speaks truth to power—not recycled arrogance masquerading as experience. As someone dedicated to the progress of our region and the transformation of Abia State, I remain committed to serving the people. Let every aspirant enter the arena; ultimately, it is the people who will decide—not the declaration of any one individual. Democracy thrives on choice, and in 2027, Abia North will choose progress over pride. Chief (Dr.) Emeka Charles Kalu Chairman, ECK Foundation Political Leader and Advocate for Good Governance

Royal Father HRH Eze Bobby Aguocha Calls For Action On Nmamdi Kanu as Nigeria Marks 65th Independence https://www.ohafiatv.com/royal-father-hrh-eze-bobby-aguocha-calls-for-action-on-nmamdi-kanu-as-nigeria-marks-65th-independence/ In show of his relentlessness for upholding of Nigeria Constitution and the tenets of our founding father during a brief interview with OHAFIATV, HRH Eze Bobby Aguocha, has once again lent his voice regarding Nigeria's 65th Independence Anniversary and its implications for the Igbo community. Q: Of what significance is Nigeria's Independence Day hold for you and the Igbo community? A: "Today, we celebrate 65 years of independence, but it's crucial to acknowledge the journey we've taken as a nation. The Igbo community, like many others, has faced unique challenges and opportunities. As we reflect on our progress, we must also consider the work still needed to ensure equality, justice, and development for all Nigerians, particularly in the Southeast region." Q: You've been vocal about the Nnamdi Kanu situation. How do you think this reflects Nigeria's democratic values? A: "The Nnamdi Kanu case highlights the importance of upholding democratic principles, such as fairness, accountability, and justice. When these values are compromised, democracy suffers, and marginalized communities are often the hardest hit. It's essential for our leaders to prioritize these principles to build trust and ensure the voices of all citizens are heard." Q: What actions do you think Igbo stakeholders should take to ensure justice and protect the rights of the Igbo people? A: "Igbo stakeholders, including Ohaneze Ndigbo, Igbo groups, elders, and Igbo intelligentsia, must speak out against injustices and advocate for the rights of our community. Unity and collective action are crucial in promoting our interests and ensuring our voices are heard. By working together, we can build a stronger, more prosperous Igbo community within Nigeria." Q: How do you think Nigeria can promote development and well-being for all its citizens, particularly in the Southeast region? A: "By fostering development and well-being of the Southeast region, they must be given a sense of belonging. Nigeria can achieve this by addressing systemic issues such as infrastructure deficits, lack of economic opportunities, and unequal access to resources. Inclusive policies that promote equitable growth and development are essential. This includes investing in infrastructure, supporting local businesses, and creating opportunities for education and employment." Q: What message do you have for Nigerians on this Independence Day? A: "As we celebrate our independence, let's recommit ourselves to building a nation where justice, equality, and fairness reign. Our diversity is a strength, not a weakness, and by working together, we can create a brighter future for all Nigerians. Let's prioritize unity, justice, and equality to ensure our nation continues to grow and prosper." Q: Finally, how do you see the future of Nigeria and the Igbo community unfolding? A: "With collective effort and a commitment to justice and equality, I envision a brighter future for Nigeria and the Igbo community. We'll continue to advocate for our rights and work towards a more inclusive and prosperous society. By addressing our challenges and leveraging our strengths, we can build a nation that truly reflects the values of justice, equality, and fairness for all." Q: Finally, do you have any advice for President Tinubu and Governor Alex Otti? A: "I'd like to thank President Tinubu for initiatives such as the SEDC and the College of Education, Ofeme, Umuahia. These efforts demonstrate his commitment to education and economic development. To Governor Alex Otti, I commend him for bringing hope to the common man in Abia State. His leadership has restored confidence in the government, and we urge him to continue working tirelessly to improve the lives of Abians."

Abia State's Innovative Education Policies Receive Praise from HRH Eze Bobby Aguocha https://www.ohafiatv.com/2025/09/09/abia-states-innovative-education-policies-receive-praise-from-hrh-eze-bobby-aguocha/ HRH Eze Bobby Aguocha, Grand Patron of Ezenaebiri and Chairman of Royal Renaissance ("The Integrity Group" , has praised the Abia State government, led by Governor Dr. Alex Otti, for introducing innovative educational policies. These policies prioritize the welfare of parents and students and aim to alleviate financial burdens while enhancing academic standards.OHAFIATV recalls that the Abia State government had launched several initiatives, including limiting graduation ceremonies to terminal classes—Primary 6 and SS3—to reduce unnecessary expenses. Textbooks will be separated from workbooks, allowing younger siblings to reuse textbooks and lowering costs for parents. Additionally, parents are instructed to collect their children's basic education certificates, with schools charging no more than ₦2,000 for Primary 6 certificates. Moreover, students must pass a state-organized promotion exam to be admitted into SS3, and transferring schools between SS2 and SS3 is no longer permitted. These policies promote accountability, ensure integrity within the education system, and alleviate financial pressure on parents. Recall that starting January 2025, Abia State implemented a free education policy covering Primary 1 through Junior Secondary School 3 in all public schools. This initiative guarantees that every child in Abia State has access to quality education, fostering future growth and development. The government has emphasized that parents and guardians who fail to comply with the new policy will face prosecution under the Abia State Child's Rights Law of 2006.
