Pls tell me you didn't buy this car?
Sorry to disappoint, I bought it out of ignorance, and that's why I'm informing others, at least it should help while negotiating or to run away from such if sighted.
Many suggested going with mechanics, most mechanic will not even look underneath, after looking at engine, check exhaust, throttle down, test drive, next is Oga, the car dey okay. So as buyer, you can as well suggest that your mechanic check under.
Can't imagine travelling with this because I just bought a direct toks vehicle (smiles)

Third day in mechanics shop, rust fixed in lower part, picture below,
One day for fuel tank replacement
Second day: had to loose arm, bolts doesn't loose easily, panel had to start cutting one by one
Third day: panel fixes rust and treat, arm replacement too to be carried out
Hoping the car is gonna leave here today

If u can buy a car worth over one million naira, what's a big deal is changing ur fuel tank and avoid unnecessary thread?
The big deal is when you save up to buy a car and you started replacing and fixing parts when it has not even serve you. The thread is to advise others knowing fully well majority of Nigerians go for toks vehicle. Obviously I can't return it grin so lemme tell others in peace ooo

I totally agree with you.
Had a similar experience last year.
Bought a fine looking car from Canada.
Had to apply anti-rust though.
Wish I could apply anti-rust too but this is beyond, see fuel tank for instance, I had to change the arm too and car was looking very attractive, engine is superb too, if not that I notice smell of petrol while driving and the vehicle seems to consume fuel than normal, I wouldn't have known something like that is underneath, ordinary finger will pierce iron in the arm.

Most of us watch out for cars with good and neat engine before buying a car but truly truly I say to you, something worst is under, always check if the car has not been infected by rust, they said it is usually found in vehicles from Canada.

I think 1Cor 10: 31 said it all
Make we dey do all things for God's glory
Proverbs 23: 20,21 talks about not been found among those who dey drink too much wine
Proverbs 28:7 says a glutton disgraces his father
Even Jesus warned against overeating and overdrinking (Luke 21:34)
So, it's very simple, even if na water you drink too much, you sef go hear ham, I think it's better to practice self control in all things then we will be fine

Stupid country always road projects, is it economically viable in the long run?
Will road put food on the table of the common masses?
Instead of using this funds to invest in projects that will refinance the economy.
Chasing nonsense up and down.
Don't underestimate the benefit of good road to common man, drivers, traders etc all benefits from good road and they are still part of the masses. Just stating my opinion

There are remote places like this in every state so what's special about this one
Well, majority of remote areas I know has a definite market which people come from town to patronise, in this case the reverse is the case.
Remote areas I know will at least have POS for financial transactions, for this it isn't like that
Climate I mentioned earlier is not a characteristic of remote area, and issues with water is not a general problem, just stating what I've observed so far...

I'm a Corp member serving in Udenu LGA, Ibeagwa village to be precise, surrounded by villages such as Imilike-Agu and Ezimo Agu.
Ibeagwa is a rural community in Udenu local govt area of Enugu state with population estimate ranging from 2000 to 5000persons (Estimate based on number of buildings obtained using Google imagery and average household size). About 18mins drive from Obollo-Afor - the closest town, and 20-25mins drive from Nssuka which houses University of Nigeria. Ibeagwa is a cool and serene environment inhabited by people with good heart, yes they are nice; in fact, majority I met tried speaking in Yoruba so they could communicate with me, plus they are very quick to serve visitors food (lol). I noticed the major primary activity here is the production of Cashew nut from Cashew seed (they heat with fire, after which they break with hands).
However (SMH), Climate here is totally different from the Southwest, (guess we're fortunate) Rain stopped falling mid-October and I heard there was no rain until June/July when we had started harvesting maize in the Southwest. Meaning there is heat. Intense heat.
_I always thought I knew the definition of a remote area till I got here: a village whose major source of water is rainfall. It has only two boreholes and residents have to trek kilometres with their wheel barrows and kegs through a rugged route (terrain); a road filled with sand and hills.
_Service providers don't even try at all. Thanks to Airtel, we've got some breeze to surf the net, however, the highest download speed I've attained so far is 300kb/s. MTN, 9mobile and Glo are available for call at some locations.
_Electricity is 3days on, 4days off, except when a rich man is throwing a party. Lol.
_Sorry I've got to say this, seems their buildings are designed for short people, I've always got to bend my knees to enter my apartment.
_The collector road linking the villages are tarred but local access roads seems are death traps in disguise - booby trapped with sand. Often times, Motorcycle riders dance to the tune of sand to navigate through.
Oh less I forget, the village has no market, I had to go to neighboring village' market which is costly because commercial motorcycle is most available transport means
Truly truly I say to you, Enugu is in the hands of God. Survival mode activated.

I've wondered same. A 2005 Nigerian used is still priced between 1.2-1.6m. A colleague bought a Nigerian used Corolla 04 in 2017 for 1.2 million today he's reselling same at 1.35.

Are there no alternatives to a Corollahuh?
Seriously,
I wonder oo

Noticed that Toyota Corolla is costier as compare to other mid-range vehicles of the same year, also notice that the color fades with time(let's say a year after purchase), is it that majority are salvage or accidented vehicle??
