TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by Falexchi: 9:28am On Nov 05, 2022
Hi there,
Does anyone know when the next academic session will commence at the National Open University?
And how long do diploma programs take to complete?

Hi,
Please does anyone have any suggestions for a six-month program that would allow me to get two or more certificates in order to raise my CRS Score?
I have applied for the HRDC Diploma at the university of Lagos. the program has not yet begun, and I am unaware of any private higher education facility that offers WES-evaluable certificate programs.
I have tried doing my research on CIAPS - (Centre For International Advanced and Professional Studies) and after conducting some investigation, I don't think paying 600k for a three-month program is legitimate. even though they claim that WES can evaluate the certificate.
I also gave CIPM and ACCA some thought, but I would be at a disadvantage since I have no prior accounting experience.
Please advise.
Thank you!

I had done that but haven't found the information that would inform my decision. Thanks.

meetme01:
I would help you and others who read this for free. If I had known this during my final year, I'd be in Canada by now. For me, it's even the easiest.

Study hard to IELTS test. Take the general.

Create an account with wes.org. Choose immigration path (IRCC)

Send your transcript for evaluation.

Your age, test score dand other factors determines your point. (https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp).

That's the calculator to stimulate your point.

Your point will determine if you can enter the pool. If it's high good for you. However, if it's low, all you need do find nomination.

The best and easiest nomination to the province which we refer to as PNP. If you get nominated by any of the province you have solved your problem. That gives 600points. Added to your previous point, you will issued ITA. (Invitation to Apply) in th Express Entry

The next step is the a little bit difficult but not too. Proof of Funds (POF).

That's the basic. If you need more information, don't contact me. Just Google anything wish to know and add nairaland e.g ontario pnp nairaland. You will read and get tired till you see yourself in Ontario.

I am in the pool but my score does not meet so, am struggling to get nomination from one of the province.

Best of luck to us all.
Hi, do you have any information on CIAPS (Centre for international advanced and professional studies)
I intend to run a program with them in order to claim two or more certificates. They informed me that they are recognised by WES. Do you know any thing about them or someone who has used their service? And is it guaranteed ? Thank you for your post.

Hi,

Thanks to everyone who have contributed meaningfully on this subject. It has really helped me on this PR journey. So I am in a dilemma and I need anybody to please provide relevant clarification. While waiting to receive PPR, I recently got a new job which pays much better than my old job. Was not expecting PPR anytime soon but as God would have it, PPR came on Dec 24, 2019. The plan was to do a soft landing around August 2020, return to naija, work till mid-2021 (to make more money) and leave permanently to Canada in 2021.

However, I was reading about PR status and landing on the Canadian website and I see a part that says that one must stay for a period of 730days in the last five years to maintain one’s PR status. Just to clarify, can I stay outside Canada after soft landing for a period of 6months to 1 year? Would this affect my PR status?

Please I would appreciate your advice on this issue.

Thank you so much.
