The modern age has made it much easier for those who are religious. Especially those who want to study religious texts like the Holy Bible. Not long ago, you’d have to find a pocket Bible or figure out a why to carry that giant book around with you. These days you can just carry a copy of it on your mobile device for quick reference. Here are the best Bible apps and Bible study apps for Android!

Audible is a popular audio book platform. It specializes in books read by a human voice. Luckily, they have a few different editions of the Bible that you can choose from. You can listen to the Bible pretty much anywhere you want. That includes your home, the car, or even while taking a walk. It won’t replace your physical copy of the book. However, it is one of the better companion Bible apps that we’ve found.

The Bible App for Kids is exactly what you think it is. It’s a Bible app for kids. It’s one of many apps in the YouVersion Bible apps style that’s starting to get very popular. In this one, kids can play through an interactive adventure that teaches them more about the Bible, what happened in it, and the people from it. There are also challenges, fun cartoons, and other stuff. It’s also completely free with no in-app purchases. That makes it great for those on a budget.

The Bible app by Life Church is probably the best of all the Bible apps. It comes with a whole bunch of features. The app gives you offline access so you can read the Bible anywhere. On top of that, there are 1400 versions in a variety of languages. You can read whatever version you want. It also comes with a Verse of the Day, audio versions of the Bible, and more. Some of the versions it comes with include the King James Version, New International Version, New King James Version, New Living Translation, English Standard Version, NASB, The Message, Yoruba, Zulu, and others. That makes it one of the more powerful Bible study apps also. It’s completely free with no in-app purchases.

Bible Trivia Quiz is a simple little quiz game. As you can imagine, it asks questions about various stories in the Bible. You can play games of varying lengths including ten questions, 20 questions, or 50 questions. According to user reviews, the questions should all have correct answers. The instructions are also easy to follow. Of course, getting a question wrong shows you the right answer along with the Bible verse it came from. That means you can look it up on your own for further Bible study. It’s one of the better Bible apps for studying scripture and it’s completely free.

Daily Bible Verse is an app that shows you daily Bible verses. We know, it’s not the most creative name ever. It doesn’t really matter, though. The app does a great job at showing you a different verse every day so you have something to read up about. You can also pick between the KJV or the NIV versions of the Bible at your leisure. You can save your favorites or you can share them on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites as well. It’s also a free app with no in-app purchases.

Harper Collins Christian Publishing has a variety of Bible apps and Bible study apps. Their big apps are Bible apps that feature various versions of the Bible. They have the NKJV, NIV, KJV, ESV, and NLT versions. They also have a few more powerful apps such as the Amplified Bible app. It gives you additional abilities such as taking notes and further studying options. There are over a dozen Bible apps in total and they’re all pretty good. Some of them are free and.

Our Daily Bread is a Christian group that began in the 1930s. Since then, they have written a variety of work to talk about God, Christianity, and how to let God into your life. It’s essentially a magazine for the faithful. The app lets you download various things that you can read. You can get up to a month of previous work. The app also gives you reminders so you can remember for Bible study, daily reading ideas from the Bible, and a public comment section. The app is a bit old school, but it works pretty well.

Pocket Casts is an app that lets you download and play podcasts. A lot of ministries and churches these days put their weekly sermons up on iTunes or Google Play. Pocket Casts can find them and download them so you can listen to the sermon wherever you may be. There are also a variety of Christian-oriented podcasts that discuss ideas, Bible verses, current events, and more. Realistically, any podcast app should be able to do the trick. However, Pocket Casts is easily the best one. Like Audible, it’s not one of the traditional Bible apps. You can use it as one, though.

The Study Bible is perhaps the best of the Bible study apps. It covers mostly the New Testament although it will touch on the Old Testament if needed. It also contains several versions of the Bible, including the ESV, KJV, and NAS. With the app, you can also listen as several famous Christian personalities answer various questions about the Bible, life, and how you can connect one to the other. You can download it and check it out for free or pay the $5.99 for the full version of the app.

Tecarta Bible is a solid all-around app for the faithful. It includes the KJV version of the Bible for free. You can get over half a dozen translations through in-app purchases if you want a different version. You can also highlight you favorite verses, check out a verse of the day, and more. There are also commentaries and devotionals for those who want to read more. There are a small number of ads in the app. However, any in-app purchase will remove them permanently. It’s good for what it does.

Phones / Report: India To Overtake The US As The Second Largest Smartphone Market By 2019 by Falz2017: 2:52pm On Jun 09, 2017

China is currently the largest smartphone market in the world, followed by the US, but it looks like things will change in the future. According to a report by Statista, in two years time, India may surpass the US to become the second largest smartphone market in the world.

India is anticipated to grab almost 15 percent of the world’s smartphone market share, while the US will drop down to third place with a market share of 10 percent. China, which currently has a 31 percent market share, is expected to remain number one.

The possibility that India could surpass the US in terms of the number of smartphone users has been predicted for a while now. The demand for smartphones has been increasing in the country, thanks to affordable devices from Chinese companies including Oppo, Vivo, and Xiaomi, just to name a few. Further, the population of India (well over 1 billion) is far larger than the population of the US (around 320 million), which is obviously an important factor.

In addition to India, the demand for smartphones is also expected to increase in other emerging markets like Brazil, for example. That’s why more and more manufacturers are trying to increase their presence in these markets. Xiaomi, for example, has opened a second factory in India, said to be capable of producing one smartphone per second during operational hours. Samsung also sees a bright future in India and has recently announced its plan to double the size of its existing production plant in the country.http://thetechlicense.com/2017/06/09/report-india-to-overtake-the-us-as-the-second-largest-smartphone-market-by-2019/

Phones / Apple Employees In China Secretly Sold Customer Data by Falz2017: 10:44pm On Jun 08, 2017
Apple employees in China were running an underground market selling off customer data on the black market.

According the AFP, the criminal ring included 20 Apple employees partaking in the operation, and included the sale of names, phone numbers, Apple IDs and other data. The information was sold off as single items, ranging from 10 yuan ($1.50) to 80 yuan ($26.50), totaling 50 million yuan ($7.36 million) sum.

Chinese authorities were working on the case for months before arrests were made across four provinces—Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Fujian. Authorities acquired the perpetrator’s “criminal tools” and put an end to their online network.

The Apple employees involved in the operation worked in Apple’s marketing and outsourcing departments. AFP’s report doesn’t mention how authorities were tipped off of the scam or how long it took place. The report also notes it’s not clear to whom the compromised data belonged to—foreign or Chinese Apple customers.

China recently passed a cybersecurity law putting extra emphasis in protecting customer’s online data. If companies fail to do so, they may face stiff fines or other, more serious repercussions like loss of business licenses.

Programming / Building A Simple Calculator With Android Studio by Falz2017: 10:34am On May 26, 2017

This tutorial is base on creating a very simple calculator for Android using Android Studio and it also assumes that you have Android Studio (2.3.2 was used) installed, know a little bit about java and ability to read and understand texts.

The application is really going to be simple and lazy in terms of programming, but it is enough to get you started.

The Application Rules
It can only use one operator
You must click on the equals (=) to get your result
Steps
The first thing you will need to do is to create an android project with Activity “MainActivity” and Layout “activity_main.xml.”

After this, you will need to design your layout with Buttons and a textview for displaying the results. Make sure it looks like the XML below with the appropriate onClick functions for easy communication with the MainActivity.

The source code doesn't display well here embarassed. Check here http://thetechlicense.com/2017/05/25/building-simple-calculator-android-studio/.

Business / I Love Konga But Prefer Jumia by Falz2017: 9:42pm On Apr 12, 2017
Who doesn’t shop online now,it is so much easier for us and although it pack higher fee, it is still a better way. But why do I prefer Jumia over Konga. The only reason I love Konga is because I knew it first over the latter Jumia.

The key word you should watch out for here is innovation and I will try to explain why Jumia has it.

Jumia knows how to run a long term business cos the introduced sub businesses and they seem to perform great. Take JumiaFood for instance, it is getting to the top of the chat.

Jumia advertises at all section which explains why they have a higher alexa rating than Konga. The marketers fo a solid job advertising this online mall.

Jumia has also perfected the art of collaboration. If you didn’t notice, it now has international market in which good from the USA can be shopped direct from Nigeria.

And that is the real definition of innovation.
Phones / Galaxy S8 Won’t Launch With Samsung’s Bixby Voice Assistant by Falz2017: 8:02am On Apr 12, 2017
Samsung has confirmed to Axios that it will be shipping the Galaxy S8 without one of the device’s hallmark features, that being the voice part of its Bixby voice assistant.

The digital assistant, which Samsung announced last month in conjunction with its newest smartphones, is a bit different than Siri or Google Now due to its affinity for text and camera-powered queries in addition to voice commands.

While Bixby will launch with the computer vision chops of its Vision feature and the deluxe notifications screen it calls Bixby Home, Samsung has detailed that the assistant’s hallmark feature, Bixby Voice, will be unavailable to US customers until “later this spring.”

This all exemplifies what a mad dash Samsung has been making to enter the voice assistant fray following its acquisition of Viv Labs this past October.

Samsung had already detailed that Bixby voice wouldn’t be launching in full force, originally detailing that voice controls would be integrated into some key native apps with a limited number of languages being supported at launch.

Phones / The Perfect Smartphone Combo by Falz2017: 10:12pm On Apr 09, 2017
We are not talking about those single lovers, those that use only one device as a daily driver and probably one device for everything we could call the die hard fans. But, it is for those of us that use two not three or four but two smartphone as our daily driver.

There are so many reasons that could prompt you as a person to use two smartphones at least I know a few of those, one being the fact that you want to use two sim cards maybe one for home and the other for office, another reason maybe because the two devices handle different task or let’s put it this way, the cons of one is the pros of the other. The final reason that I could come up with is your intention to showing off and that seems to be a cool one.

So, which of this devices really matches when it comes to using them together? That question ain’t cheap for someone in my field and for me I would say the Samsung and the iPhone. Why? Let me buttress on the facts.

It doesn’t matter whether it is a Samsung S8 and an iPhone 4 or the iPhone 7 and the Samsung galaxy S3 mini, the scenario here is that these two manufactures blend in so perfectly together. One running Android and another running the iOS, two platforms that seems to cancel out your smartphone problems when used together and not to forget that they are the most used smartphone platforms in the world right now. You could make use of it in this way, some applications are either exclusive to the Apple store or the Play store which means using them together would guarantee the availability of those application or games.

I might also want to use my MTN and Etisalat on the two devices and at this point you might be thinking why can’t I just get a dual sim Samsung phone or two iPhone 5 so as to spend less. Well, we are talking about using the best in the game here and the iPhone and the Samsung works perfectly for that reason and moreso who fancies the act of using a device with dual sim card slot.

An now for the showing off part. I use the most expensive phones in their category and who will not be tempted to look at me and even to come closer. People use the Samsung the are considered rich, people also use the iPhone and they are also considered rich but what about those that use both the iPhone are Samsung. Think about what you will be called or referred to.

So what do you think about this? Let me know in the comment section.

Phones / Uber Is Now Banned In Italy For Unfair Competition by Falz2017: 1:25pm On Apr 09, 2017
While Uber is fighting Waymo at home, the American company is also having issues abroad. As Reuters reported, an Italian court has ordered Uber to stop all activities in all of Italy. The court says Uber represents unfair competition for taxi drivers.

In particular, the court in Rome says that Uber is a transportation company but doesn’t respect transportation laws — rates aren’t set by the transportation authority. That was the main contention point for traditional taxi associations as they can’t compete with Uber on price.

Uber has ten days to shut down all its activities and can’t run any advertising campaign. After that, the company will have to pay €10,000 per day if the company still operates (€3.65 million per year). As of today, you can still order an Uber ride in Italy.

Uber told La Repubblica that it will appeal the decision. The company said that the transportation law is outdated and doesn’t benefit Italian users.

Phones / Twitter Lite Is A Data-friendly Mobile Web App That’s Optimized For Speed by Falz2017: 12:00pm On Apr 06, 2017
In hopes of getting more users on board, Twitter has recently announced a new mobile web experience called Twitter Lite. It loads quickly on slower connections, minimizes data usage, and takes up less than 1 MB on your device.

Twitter Lite is mainly aimed at users in emerging markets across Asia Pacific, Latin America, and Africa who have to deal with slower mobile networks and expensive data plans. The company says that it is optimized for speed and should launch 30 percent faster when compared with the standard version of the social network.

It has quite a few features one would expect, as you are able to view your timeline, tweet, send direct messages, view profiles as well as trends, upload images, and more. As this is a lite version, some functionalities, like video uploading, for example, are not supported.

Twitter Lite also has a useful data saver mode, which allows you to see a preview of images and videos and lets you choose which ones you want to download. The company claims that this can reduce your data usage by up to 70 percent.

If you’re using it in Google Chrome on an Android device, you have the option of receiving a wide range of push notifications. You can also add Twitter Lite to your home screen if you plan on using it often, as that will allow you to launch it quickly with just a tap.

Twitter Lite is already available to users around the world. If you want to try it out, all you have to do is visit mobile.twitter.com on your mobile device.

Phones / The Samsung S8 Has What Tecno Users Got Tired Of Using by Falz2017: 1:31pm On Apr 04, 2017
This is not a Samsung vs Tecno article. This post tell you how far the small companies have gone in terms of tech but because – well they are small, there technology get overlooked. A disclaimer first, am not saying that tecno came up with the idea am about to share first or neither am saying it’s Samsung idea cos i don’t know. All I know is that I discovered it on some Tecno device first.

I think this tech was available only on the h series of Tecno phones like the tecno h5 and what it does is that it uses a home button that even when the backlight of the phone is off, you can bring it on by just touching it. It also has customization like a light around it that serves as a notification.

Samsung went ahead and implemented this into their Galaxy s8 and little did anyone know that it existed on some devices. Samsung just modified it to it’s own taste while still performing basic function like that of the tecno h5 and I have to say that it looks cooler.
