It was a bad day for Gala today, maybe fatigue and loss of concentration are setting in.

We are still waiting for the verdict from FIFA 🤐
It wouldn’t be an easy one !
Famocious:
Assuming FIFA rules that DR Congo fielded ineligible players during the playoff and African group-stage qualifiers, and they are penalised with a three-point deduction and a minus-three goal adjustment in all affected matches, what would happen next?
Would there be fresh African playoff fixtures, or would Nigeria and Cameroon face each other to determine a new African representative for the continental playoff?

The racism can be tough to deal with at times. I’ve had white patients who specifically ask for a white doctor instead of a Black doctor with an accent. Surprisingly, I’ve also seen some Black Caribbean patients prefer white physicians over doctors who share the same dark skin tone as them.

Oh well, at least it means less work for me.

Micro policing is another ish especially if you are new to a Trust or your colleagues can’t trust you and your judgement!

They see us as a more competitive team compared to the Senegalese. Sure, they wouldn’t like to meet us again in an open field!

NFF have never been proactive.
With a thorough search, they would have known that he is a controversial referee and petition CAF to change him.
I thought about this as well, but what’s the assurance that alternative ref wouldn’t be worse ?

CAF is not hiding their intentions, changing of ref wouldn’t alter their agenda!

We also need to accept that Morocco team is one of the top 2 teams in Africa, a very solid team. I can’t see the Senegalese winning the Moroccans in Sunday ..
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Famocious(m): 8:55am On Jan 15
Honestly, the Super Eagles deserve respect and some serious slack. They fought hard, but the referee sucked the life out of the game with obvious one-sided decisions. Our boys had to play on eggshells, while Morocco played freely, knowing fully well they had the referee on their side.

Add to that the fact that Morocco were comfortably based in Rabat all through the tournament, while our lads had to move twice, both physically draining and mentally unsettling. Then throw in a massive home crowd roaring behind the hosts; that kind of pressure can overwhelm even the best teams.

Yes, Chelle could have done more tactically in the second half, the changes and substitutions didn’t quite spark the boost we needed. But even with all these odds stacked against them, the boys showed heart, grit, and character.

For me, they played beyond expectations. Proud of them.

Afcon Final List
Not a bad list to be honest..

With the right balance in the squad, good organisation, and the boys giving everything on the pitch, the Super Eagles can go far at AFCON 2025. If they stay focused, play their A-game, and with fair officiating plus that small sprinkle of luck every team needs, we’ll be in a strong position to make a real run in this tournament.

Sorry for the digression, just saw one of the most absurd red cards through Gueye for Everton. Red carded for fighting his team mate (village people at work for sure).
He was shown a red card for violent conduct. The decision was justified, although it’s unclear what Keane said that triggered the physical altercation.

The capitulation of the team on the grand stage has more to do with the mentality of this set of SE players than their actual abilities.

JP complained that the team did not show their level against CIV in the last AFCON final. Same thing under Chelle. Apart from Osimhen and perhaps Bassey, most of the players don't come across as mentally strong. As a collective it gets worse.

This is a generation of nearly men not a golden generation.
I can’t agree less…
The problem with this Super Eagles side on the big stage isn’t really about talent; it’s the mentality. A strong team spirit and shared mindset are what hold a side together when the pressure rises, and without that, even very good players can look ordinary. That’s why they often fall short of their true level in big moments.

We saw the same issues against DR Congo, just like in the AFCON final against Côte d’Ivoire. The team looked disjointed, transitions were poor, and the defence never felt settled. What made it worse was the lack of real leadership from the captain; there was no one on the pitch pulling the group together or steadying them when things got tough. As a collective they come across mentally fragile, and unless that changes, this group risks being remembered as “nearly men” rather than a golden generation.

By the way, the boys have moved on past the loss and life goes on..
