I don't know the Doctor she saw that make such reckless pronouncement, but what I know is that she can live a normal life aside from occasional flares if she's being managed by an expert Rheumatologist. We have several of them in Nigeria...
Apart from the Nollywood Doctors, most well-trained doctors wouldn't tell a healthy looking woman like her how many years are left for them to live. |

Hey house, I need a 2 bedroom apartment in Coventry, preferably close to University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire. I would be emigrating from Naija into the UK later this month, I've already paid over 600 euro for a short-stay apartment which would cover just 6 days. My account is already screaming for help Anyone with help could kindly inbox me.. Daluu |

Seaseason07: Thanks. Well I was watching a program on YouTube and the man made it clear that, people are saying herbal medicine is bad due to the fact that, the safe measurement is not considered when it administered but that was wrong. In the olden Days, there is something called EMI in Yoruba language, it's like an egg thr shape and the size is like an egg, not bigger than local egg's size ( not agric o ) this EMI has a seed inside it that's as big as the size of the shell which give the shell big space inside it when the seed is removed. The seed is what is use in the making of shea butter. Now, in olden day, they get it, then gently cut of the head to remove the seed inside it. He said that was what safest measurement when taking any herbal medicine. If your body is strong or the infection is chronic and no healing after taken that measurement for 3 days then you can increase it to two. So that's how we take our bitter leaf juice. I remember last MAY when a friend of my kid sister came to spent 4 months with us, she was always has a very terrible menstrual cramp. It happened that she came on Thursday and her period time is on Monday, and we always take the juice every Saturday or Sunday. She complained when she took it because she has never taken something that's as bitter as that but guess was, that was how she was healed of her menstrual cramp till date. In addition, nowadays it's difficult to see that EMI but the size of schinap little cup is the replacement for the measurement. Interesting.. I once had a 24 year old female student who had a kidney transplant here in Nigeria. Fund for her transplant was donated by her state government and she got her new kidney from her mother. Despite all the warning about unprescribed medications and herbs, she went ahead to use a herbal mixture for heavy menstrual flow and she suffered acute kidney injury with allograft (transplanted kidney) rejection. She went back to hemodialysis because her given kidney had failed. Sadly, she died while trying to raise fund for the second kidney transplant. We all learn daily from our experiences.. |

Seaseason07: Hello! Your advise should be taken serious however, where you talked about taken herbal remedies, can you be more explicit about that? In my house, we got bitter leafs planted and we use it alot of times. In fact what we do is, once in every week at weekend, we are always takes the juice ( bitter leafs + water's extraction). Doing so, we don't fall sick in fact I'm going to Three years now without paracetamol talk of any other drugs but ZERO SUGAR, ZERO ALCOHOL. NO SOFT DRINKS, NO ENERGY DRINK, OFF ORORO ( replaced with palm oil ), fry food once in a month. ZERO FAST AND JUNKIE FOOD. But now with what you just said. Is that safe? ( The juice) Herbal remedies is a generic term under which all sorts of herbal mixture fall into. Consumption of herbs for it's medicinal benefits happens in all countries of the world and what is clear is kidney is very important in breaking down and excretion of almost all theses herbal products. However, there are no enough studies to show the appropriate dosing of these drugs for those who have good kidneys and those with kidney diseases unlike other modern medicines that went through various trials before being approved for use. Truly, some of these herbs have antioxidants and are beneficial but do when know the appropriate dose that is healthy for our kidneys and livers? |

Thank God for your testimony.
What you had 6 years ago was acute kidney injury which may be caused by many conditions such as indiscriminately used of medications/herbs, profuse vomiting or diarrhea, acute infection, toxins, sudden rise in blood pressure, etc.
Unlike chronic kidney disease that is not reversible, acute kidney injury is reversible but could be a risk factor for developing chronic kidney disease like in life. How can you prevent this?
Stay hydrated with clean water all the time, avoid taking unprescribed medications, avoid herbal remedies, exercise regularly, treat hypertension /diabetes / chronic infections (Hepatitis B/C/HIV) if you have any, stop or cut down alcohol, avoid cigarettes, see a good doctor when you are sick, stay hydrated if you are losing body fluid(vomiting, diarrhea, unusual passage of large volume of urine, bleeding), good antenatal care etc..
Cheers |

Healhtyliving: I have a sister who is a doc with many years of experience too. Is thereother routes for docs without hoing through the plab 1 and 2? Yes, it is called the sponsorship route. It is meant for doctors with additional degrees that are equivalent to MRCP. Examples of this route are MTI (Medical training initiative), International Senior Clinical Fellowship. Instead of taking Plab, the employer would provide the employee with a conditional job offer a letter of sponsorship that would be submitted to GMC for registration and licence to practise in the UK. |
