PoliticsNigeria Treasury Losing 90% Revenue Under PMB. by fancyupage(op): 11:58am On Feb 21, 2016
PMB has recently reiterated that he will not devalue Naira........Lots of Nigerians are glad about this, please I beg to differ.

There is a difference between a popular statement by the president and a feasible plan for our economy. Talk is cheap, currently Buharinomics is making Nigeria taxpayers lose out by up to 90% of revenue from oil export. We make money from our export at the official price but pay money for import at the parallel market price for most consumer goods and services either imported or made locally, (The slogan is dollars has risen so should our price, but officially it has not). Stagnant wages chasing expensive goods. As we speak no industrialisation policy, no objective on power, non on education, not aware of any on health etc and Nigerians are harping on HOPE. Wishful thinking does not move a nation forward.

For those asking for more time, I agree with you because Rome is not built in a day except that the foundation was started years before the completion of Rome. Has this government never heard of "low hanging fruits" and "quick wins".

Thank you PMB, next week will see further devaluation of Naira due to your speech. My advice to people who want to send money home next week, please hold fire till Thursday of Friday to maximise gain for the week. PMB you are an hypocrite, why did you holiday in UK recently? Why not go to obudu cattle ranch, olumo, idanre hill etc. Your holiday few weeks ago also helped to weaken the Naira.

When Jakande the former governor of Lagos State came up with a policy to discourage private education, he showed examples by making his kids go there. What we have now in Nigeria is similar to Animal farm........Mandela never visited hospital outside South Africa in his dying days.

According to Abokifx, even Nigerian Banks ATM rate for forex is not the CBN rate,

BANK ATM RATES
DATE LOCATION BANK RATE CUR
20/02/16 U.S.A 1st bank N387 USD
20/02/16 Austria GTB N353 EUR
20/02/16 Austria Stanbic N321 EUR
20/02/16 U.S.A GTB N320 USD

Please who are the Nigerians that still believe Buharinomics is working?
Christianity EtcHow Many Night Vigils Does Nigeria Need To Be Great? 10? 1000? 100000? 1m? by fancyupage(op): 9:19pm On Feb 15, 2016
As a christian I am surprised about the understanding of some Nigerians regarding prayers and practical actions? Night vigils and prayers are very good, but they can be very ineffective if they have not platform to work on. In chemistry you can introduce a catalyst to speed up a reaction, prayers can be liken to that. When we pray that Nigeria be great but our rulers are busy budgeting more money for jamboree than projects that will improve the lives of Nigerians then prayers and night vigils will not have any reaction to catalyse.

Prayer is a catalyst, please ask yourself what is your prayer catalysing?

When a man is praying to become a medical doctor without a JAMB result, let alone getting to medical school then it is the beginning of gullibility.

PoliticsPmb, Please Sir Dont Tell Me What I Already Know, Tell Me What I Dont by fancyupage(op): 10:02pm On Feb 12, 2016
It is high time president Buhari stop telling Nigerians what we already know; that PDP did nothing progressive for 16 years, that Obasanjo spent billions of dollars on PHCN without much to show for it, that Dasuki stole money while in government, That Jonathan asked the CBN governor to give money to ministers without appropriation, that our national assembly members are after their pockets, that NNPC was a den of rogues ..........

Please tell us how you plan to deal with our challenges through your ministers; electricity, unemployment, health, education, security, housing, water, climate change etc

please present your blueprints on how to manage the challenges we face to Nigerians, we need practical objectives and how you want to be benchmarked.
PoliticsDollar Will Continue To Rise Until......... by fancyupage(op): 10:48am On Feb 12, 2016
I have read many comments on the economic situation in Nigeria with some Nigerians saying that we are not fair on Buhari, he has only done 8 and half months of his 48 months. This is approximately 16% of his time in power, we should give him more time and I have asked how many more time? 48 months?

I am not expecting magic from Mr President, but I will like indices that shows we are moving in the right direction even if it is a 20 years journey.

APART FROM THE MESS OF 2016 BUDGET INCLUDING PAYING RENT ON ASO ROCK (IS THAT TO THE LANDLORD:IBB), IT WILL BE GOOD TO KNOW HOW MUCH OF THE BUDGET WILL BE CHASING DOLLARS. HOW MUCH WILL THE GOVERNMENT SPEND ON HEALTH TOURISM ABROAD, SPONSOR EX MILITANTS TO STUDY ABROAD, BUY OFFICIAL CARS ABROAD, BUY FRENCH WINES INTO ASO ROCK INSTEAD OF OUR LOCALLY MADE PALM WINE OR ZOBO AS SOFT DRINK, BUY FURNITURE FROM ITALY INSTEAD OF FROM BABA SULE CARPENTRY WORKS........IF OUR MADE IN NIGERIA PRODUCTS ARE NOT PERFECT, THEN BLAME THE STANDARD ORGANISATION OF NIGERIA FOR NOT SETTING UP AND OR ENFORCING APPRORIATE STANDARDS FOR PRODUCTS. WHAT WE CANNOT PRODUCE WE DO NOT NEED EXCEPT FOR SOME TECHNOLOGIES HOWEVER WE SHOULD SHOW COMMITTMENT TO IMPROVE OUR KNOWLEDGE OF THESE TECHNOLOGIES WITHIN A TIME SCALE.

Leadership is about managing challenges rather than giving excuses, we do not need the government to give us excuses, we are already aware of the challenges, please start telling us how you plan to manage the challenges.

BUHARINOMICS WILL ALWAYS FAIL, IT WILL CONTINUE TO DRIVE 2ND TIER FOREX MARGET GROWTH.

I EXPECTED THE GOVERNMENT TO SHOUT ABOUT AGRICULTURE MORE THAN ANYTHING IN THIS REGIME, WITH MILLIONS OF UNEMPLOYED? ENCOURAGE FARMING OF ONE OR MORE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCE AND GUARANTEE TO PURCHASE FROM ALL FARMERS IF NO ONE ELSE BUYS IT, PROVIDED IT MEETS SET STANDARDS. THE FIRST STEP TO FEED A NATION, CREATE JOBS DRIVEN BY POLICY, THEN IT WILL LEAD TO EXPORTS.

NIGERIANS WILL CONTINUE TO CHASE DOLLARS UNTIL A TIME THEY ARE CONVINCED IT IS NO LONGER OF VALUE TO THEM; TO STUDY ABROAD, TO SEEK THE HELP OF A DOCTOR ABROAD, TO DRINK IRISH CREAM INSTEAD OF "MILKY PALM WINE", TO BUY ASSEMBLED IN NIGERIA CARS INSTEAD OF IMPORTED ONES........

WISHFUL THINKING AND ANGER DOES NOT MAKE A NATION GREAT, BUT GOOD POLICIES AND PRACTICAL ACTIONS DOES.

LONG LIVE NIGERIA.

BusinessBuharinomics Will Fail Because Adam Smith Is The Father Of NOMICS (economics) by fancyupage(op):
It is important to state that some currencies globally have fallen against the dollars in the last 2 years. Russian Roubles fell by 125%, Ghanaian New cedi fell by 66%, Brazilian Real fell by 64% and Nigerian Naira fell by 21% (Due to pegging).

You can look at the fact above and make a decision on 21% for Nigeria that is significantly dependent on foreign products and services without a manufacturing base. In comparison to Brazil and Russia who have manufacturing base. Apart from Ghana our economy is no match for Brazil and Russia who have had significant loss to their currencies. Artificial defence of Naira may only spell doom for our Naira in my opinion.

The law of supply and demand will not bow to Buharinomics because Adam Smith is the father of economics. Wishful thinking will not safe the Naira but a monetary policy that is devoid of emotion. We cannot eat our cake and have it, as long as we continue to demand for foreign products and the price of oil remain low, Naira WILL continue to fall, until an equilibrium is reached as postulated by proven economic theory of supply and demand.

Conclusively, I remember in my secondary school days, I read a book written by a renowned African professor, he said when the centre can no longer hold, THING WILL FALL APART. I hope the monetary policy of Nigeria does not lead to things falling apart for our economy, but unfortunately, HOPE alone may not be enough.

PoliticsRe: President Buhari Is A Failure In My Opinion. by fancyupage(op): 3:09pm On Feb 10, 2016
In as much as I believe that PMB is better than Jona, I am also now convinced on a balance of probability that he is a failure. From budget scandal to ministerial list. He will spend more money on Aso Rock clinic than our teaching hospitals? I still don't understand the need for a clinic in Aso Rock, at best they need a first aid centre.

On another note, he has also failed on his patrotism test in my opinion. Why do our rulers claim patrotism but prefers to do holidays abroad at a crucial time for our forex, instead of visiting Olumo Rock, obudu cattle ranch, Idanre hill, ikangosi, Yankari game reserves etc. Go abroad, kill the Naira, holiday at home safe the Naira. Actions speaker louder than propaganda.

It may not be too late for PMB to reverse this trend of failure, he will need to understand being a leader in a 21st century nation, be open to criticism, empower his team so that everything does not have to go through him, understand the power of delegation, discourage health care abroad with tax payers fund and be transparent.

I know I won't be popular with my article but time will tell if my shout was worth it.

Long live the federal republic of Nigeria.

please address the message not the messenger. Wishing Nigeria well is not enough if there are no corresponding actions to deliver wellness. We have all been wishing Nigeria well for decades, Always pray and act to achieve good result. Shalom
Christianity EtcPastor Tunde Bakare We Miss Your Objectivity by fancyupage(op): 1:55pm On Feb 10, 2016
I remember how Pastor Tunde Bakare helped to vote out GEJ, through his sermons. I commend him for that. I will continue to say Jona has no clue on 21st century governance.

That said, I would have thought if Jona made the same budget blunder PMB made in his 2016 budget pastor Tunde would have voiced an opinion. Opinion to question why Aso Rock clinic deserve billions at the expense of our teaching hospitals, why the Vice President requires more books than most higher institutions, why furniture needs replacing at millions, why website need to cost over a three quarter of a billion....

Pastor with the greatest sense of respect sir, I am missing your objectivity, bring it on.

Long live Nigeria.

Christianity EtcIs Christianity Turning To Gullibility In Nigeria? by fancyupage(op): 11:32am On Feb 07, 2016
When I read that people were paying gate fee to enter some watch night services on new year eve I had my jaw dropped. Yes it is true.

Until Christians realised that a motivational speaker is different from a spiritual leader the gullibility will continue to grow in strength.

Coined from Fela of blessed memory, pastors house dey fine pass while the contributors live in poverty.

Nigerians export churches globally while most other countries export other products and services to Nigeria. No wonder there is heavy pressure on the Naira.

Please feel free to put your opinion across not anger.
