PoliticsRe: Supreme Court Ruling On Yar'adua Presidency by fantastik(m): 10:31am On Oct 01, 2008
I believe the supreme court is going to uphold yar-Adua's presidency for the following reasons
1) to prevent breakdown of law and order
2)to save the country from the cost and problem of re-election
3)To keep the country as one
4)To save Nigeria from international ridicule
5)To allow yar-Adua to plan his own exit himself

Note I support the supreme court if they should uphold yar-adua's presidency

The above BLACK REVO has spoken my mind. I do not see that (the quashing of his election) happening.
Christianity EtcRe: What If Obama Is The Anti-Christ? by fantastik(m): 12:21pm On Sep 08, 2008
What if I say YES that Obama is the antiChrist.
Afterall, in this world of springing surprises, anything is possible.

But why did such a question sturck the mind of this guy?
Maybe, he is the antiChrist
CareerRe: Can Lawyers Practice Without Lying? by fantastik(m): 10:27am On Sep 05, 2008
Litigation is a game. One of its rules is 'lie in the best way so as to win'.
In the field, we don't see it as lying. Those are the gimmicks of the legal practice. Besides, how would you say we are lying when all we do is to use the stipulations (provisions) of the law to assist people like you out of your mess? The legislators make provisions for the law, we use these provisions. No lawyer has ever won a GOOD case outside the confines of the statutes. What I think is that most of you who are calling your bluffs here are novices. What you don't know will forever remain enigmatic to you. So, that's the fact.

We don't lie. Point of correction. Besides, why do u think you pay lawyers? So that they can lie for you? This is hilarious! Please house, drop that notion. It is wrong.

One house!!!

PoliticsPower Probe: A Success Or A Flop? by fantastik(op): 3:47pm On Sep 03, 2008
Fellow Nairalanders, let us all trash this matter once and for all. Right here. Right now. What do you think of the power probe? Is it a success or a flop? Remember that justice delayed is justice denied. All we get to read in the papers are accusations and counter accusations of bribery and corruption et al. We really do not know what to believe. It has been months since the probe was concluded. Up till date, no official indictment or report has been made as to that.
Hey Nigerians, who is fooling who?
In your opinion, is it a flop or a success?
Let's hear you!
PoliticsWhy Do Nigerians Die In Silence? by fantastik(op): 10:47am On Sep 02, 2008
Unlike elsewhere in the world, when governent policies, visions and strategies are not beneficial to the citizens, they gather in groups, send out letters and ads and carry out peaceful or destructive demonstrations to drive home their dissatisfaction with such unproductive activities of the government.
Why are we so different in Nigeria?
Why can't we do something that can change the face of governance in this country?
Why is it so?
How do we change this trend?

LiteratureIn Love With A Goddess by fantastik(op): 10:30am On Sep 02, 2008
I always marvel
At the loud silence of this place
By the freezing romantic touch of the breeze
Against my sumersaulting skin
I watch the mountain’s peak
Kiss the happy clouds
I listen to the songs of the butterflies
As they gyrate over the waters
I watch the wind as it hugs the trees
And shoves their hair backwards
Even the grasses would bend over
Muttering messages into my ears
The fishes too, would whisper fantasies into my eyes
As they perform their circus
Yes, I’m in love with the goddess…

I always melt
When the music of the free birds
Caress my tender, vessel heart
When serenity overwhelms me
And forces me into euphoria
When my mind walks away my body
And journeys to places
Places I never thought I could be
Beating into me the unfamiliar tunes of a familiar dance
Causing me a temporal insanity
As though I’m in a trance
As the river goddess seduces my thoughts
As my ink overflows my paper
Bringing forth the most romantic of all poems
Yes, I’m in love with the goddess of poetry.

Poems For ReviewMidnight Blues by fantastik(op): 10:23am On Sep 02, 2008
Loud sound of silence steadily resounds,
as stillness reigns in full sovereignty.
Through vision the dimension has no end,
as darkness colors the world black.
Crickets hum away the Midnight Blues,
as the muse hugs the Poet.
Shortly, a sonorous smile of discovery,
as he achieves the maximum satisfaction.

Poems For ReviewNostalgia (a Poem By Me) by fantastik(op): 10:15am On Sep 02, 2008
Away from the sugary land of my birth
Of some million, million hills and mountains,
She stood calling.
The soothing voice of nostalgia,
With each wave of the ocean,
Beckoned me home to the land of abundant green.

Standing there by splashing waters,
I felt her in the ice-cold breeze,
As she hugged me in reminiscence,
Gripped me so strongly, luring me home,
Against the wishes of circumstance

I can hear your soundless voice
In the sonorous songs of these seagulls,
As they gyrate over the waters,
Flapping endless memories of you,
With each stroke of their wings
Like those black kites at home

I picture you dressed in green,
Just like yesterday
I imagine you dressed in visions and in voices
Voices of my childhood,
Of my peers and of the gardens,
Bidding me to my mother's orchard
Where life for me, was born,

Poems For ReviewRe: Taken Down by fantastik(m): 9:51am On Sep 02, 2008
I couldn't believe that something like this ever existed. To make my day, I started with Stephen's poem and got it worth the whole while. Frankly speaking, Stephen put down much more than my heart could contain. I had goose bumps and swollen head as I read down. This is fantastic!

But the big question is: how do we rate these poems? We need to know how well or badly we are performing. We got to get other great poets review our works and criticise them. For me, that's much more growing than reading for the fun of it. What do anyone say?

Hi Kiwi,

To be honest, this is what I call counselling. I really I cannot thank you enough on this. I have to go over this time and again before, God help me, I can make a decision. Thanks again. I will get back to you.
PoliticsRe: Yar’adua Sick, Hospitalised by fantastik(m): 12:56pm On Aug 30, 2008
Where's your love for your motherland O compatriots? Where is thy affection for your president?

What a good number of you here don't understand is that Yar'Adua is and will be like the proverbial withering tree which a good number of persons expected to fall when the wind came. The tree stood its ground. But ironically, the strong and healthy one which no one expected to fall was the one that fell.

When God says YES, who can say NO? Yar'Adua might even live longer than a good number of you here who are crucifying him. Abeg boo, let's join hands together and pray for this man. Shikena!!!
CareerShould I Quit Practice As A Lawyer? by fantastik(op): 2:02pm On Aug 29, 2008
Dear forum users, I need your candid professional advise. I have come at a crossroads and I am in a deep fix right now. I have come at this point in my life where I do not know which way to go anymore. I am a lawyer but practice in the Eastern Nigeria has been nothing to write home about. We toil for no pay at all. I really do not know if I should look for other kinds of corporate jobs or should I stay put? Pressures are really much from my family, especially from my dad who wants me to remain. But I sincerely do not wish to further with practise as a lawyer. Please somebody should advise me. I do not know what to do next. I really am not getting any younger. i need money to settle and start a family of my own. What's your opinion?
