Let's assume Israel wants to destroy Gaza and use nuclear weapons, Gaza is so close to Isreal that there is no how Isreal itself will not be affected. So they use bombs instead.

Israel fight against Hamas is conventional, it has to be because Hamas is a terrorist group fighting guerilla style...so Israel has to put boots on ground to systematically destroy their capacity to hurt it in the future and so far it Israel has been successful....it is not easy entering someone's enclave to destroy all his munitions and weapons, such wars are usually long and brutal.

But in the case of Iran for example, Iran will fight conventionally,Not guerilla so it is a totally different scenario.
