I believe more in 9months though, but this would have been a good one if one had caught it on friday last week. But it will still make itself available again.

I had given a heads up last week that the result was coming out specifically today on SMN and the other site based on an email i got directly from a source in proshare. Didn't know that you don't frequent those sites

FO2, u haven't noticed the new improved reporting by the top banks?

Access, Zenith, Oceanic and UBA all released interim results within 9 days of Dec 31. No more long waits!
I noticed it this January, but thot this was just a fluke.Maybe oceanic was trying to prevent a freefall after the listing.I know Zenith has always been very efficient right from time. I GO RE-ADAPT BE THAT. How could i have missed that oceanic, i was just waiting till a few weeks longer.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by FatherOF2: 2:36pm On Apr 07, 2008
This is the fastest i've ever seen of any bank. Just 7 days after the end of a quarter and quarterly results are out. THIS WAS CLEARLY TIMED AS USUAL.
A clear cut case of a strategy that works. When a price is clearly oversold and good results are expected jump in for a BUY. But Oceanic clearly beat me to this one.I was expecting at least one month, not 7days.Too fast, too fast.

Hello - if you have a large volume of Fidelity shares today, what would you do. This is giving me sleepless nights.
Just wait and see if 9months can give it a kick, if it doesn't, you could move on. But don't panic on these things. Its trading at about N11 that's not too far from N13 high. That shouldn't get you worried.I've been in a situation like that in my early days, but i didn't fret.Former Chartered Bank.

@Fo2,
e be like say GSK fall small today. The good thing is that it closed higher than Wednesday's close and the average selling price seemed to be around N22.60. (I am using TRW's interim price-list).

I think this stock is fundamentally good despite the recent fall in turnover and profit. The turnover and profit in the last 6 months of 2007 was slightly better than in 2006 (I am ignoring inflation). It seems the problem they had was in the 1st half of the 2007 and things may be turning around. If my maths is correct, I think they have the best P/E and dividend in their sector.

Disclosure: GSK interest declared grin
That's why it was even safer to buy today. When you're in a safe trading zone, you don't fear at all. Fluctuations of N1 or N0.50 above or below entry price in a safe zone shouldn't worry. When you're position already you'll move above your entry price. Someone else sensed bargain yesterday and tried to take position that's why it shot up 5% yesterday.Den some panicker probably tried to run today.

@ D-DOTS,

You can make your price forcasts based on future FY earnings with reference to quarterly reports. If a stock has a higher projected earning than the preceeding year, proj PE will be lower and you can equate to arrive at FY proj. price.

Indicators:  Divergence, Bollinger ,RSI, History, Trend.

What exactly is the problem and what stock is it. I don't usually give my broker any price limits for buy and sell.
What i do is to tell him to buy on a day i believe many will be selling, then i'm sure of getting close to the lowest price. Same applies when selling. There
are some inherent dangers in giving price limits. But i don't know if you're worried about the fact that he/she still went ahead to buy or the price is too high?.

Dangote Flour Just became a BUY for today.

I think its beta seeing DSR falling today than rising so it can make a better rise later.Don't think its a good sign for good short term gain if it only makes a small gain today.

what's your take on Transcorp. Good to enter now or wait? Also which 3 TA indicator must agree?
I've never done transcorp oh. Why are you interested in it?.
But lets see if it can continue to fall tomorrow. Haven't really been following that one. Has it ever dropped below N3 ??.Its inching close to it.
That may trigger some short gain if it falls one more time by monday or hold position. 10% of N3.00 is N0.30. But i've not been looking at Transcorp sha.

@Fo2,
It seems the average price for GSK today was around 21.48 which was close to yesterday's closing price. My main concern is that we have had this type of green "marubozu" this week which was followed by a fall the following day. Wetin you think?
You need all three indicators to agree in order to buy any stock. GSK i consider as being safe to buy tomorrow for a quick CICO.

There is really no disadvantage in the bonus issue. It depends on you. Most longterm investors wait to collect Bonuses. While most short term traders don't bother with it. For me, buy dem low and usually ride on the fanfare of all the expectation of a bonus. The capital appreciation gained usually outweighs anything that a bonus can offer except its a 1 for 1 bonus. But you could enjoy your bonus after a long long time though, but then again, the capital appreciation could be working elsewhere for you and doing more capital appreciation. Its just the option you choose.

The most impressive thing about reading your post is the confidence it exudes. I really like that.
I am an admirer of an aspect of your investment strategy. Very contrarian.
The selflessness in sharing is amazing too.
Keep it up.

On your EternaOil, I think it has till Thursday to locate the floor. Please give it another look.
Thanks Iwerebor,
On Eterna, like i've said many a time. You anticipate a stock. My expectation is that with the current rate of fall, the two MA's (10 and 25) should converge by say tomorrow and at least properly by monday.By then a new signal would emerge.MACD will go into negative. For a stock in free fall like this, many will be seeking confirmation by next Thursday when it could get a little late. But as usual, i won't stay too long in it.If the fruit gets ripe by monday, i pluck
by Tuesday. That is one of the few exceptions to my Thursday/Friday buy rule.

femtex: I will say, thread softly on Adswitch. I have EPS of 4.16K with PE ratio of 156.98. This is based on their quarter two result which I doubled with outstanding shares of 125m. If it’s up to me, this is a no go area.

I believe Glasosmith is good at today’s price (or it might go a little lower). I guess people responded to the result by dumping the stock when the FY result fails to meet expectation. I guess many people were probably expecting bonus, instead of the 45K dividend they are now paying. Based on today's price, its trailing PE is about 24 which put it in my buy list.
Totally agree with you on GSK. That's usually the case.GSK should present a better buy opportunity by tomorrow if it falls or hold its position today.

I was going to ask you if you succeeded in getting that TripleG, sometimes its hard. It took two hits on Thursday and friday for me to get mine complete last week as it was falling. But i won't be greedy, once i cross 30% profit i may bail, depends on the behaviour at 30% though. Just as it is difficult to go in, it is also as difficult to come out of some stocks. Greed can cause you to get trapped in a descent.

Octupus: Dear Father of 2,

What's the bonus rumour on GTB like?
No one is sure yet. But spectulators will drive up the price in the coming days.If we knew the bonus ratio, traders will factor it into the price very quickly.
Right now GTB will test new highs before they announce. Thisday and others have let the cat out of the bag. I don't think i'm going to wait till they announce. I'll see what the price will be when its about to test a new high and compare with its fair value with bonus consideration of between 1 for 4 to 1 for 6 in mind and then make my exit if i see i'm ok at the new high or see if bonus will make any impact. These days bonus is not a guaranty for a rally for stocks which have the air soaked with rumour weeks preceeding.

Hello FO2,

you are quiet right there. Most guys have ben doing serious panic selling at serious losses. I bought some bigtreat (speculative) just before it started dropping but I can't be found panic-selling. PATIENCE is the game, and like I said somewhere, YOU NEVER LOOSE MONEY OR GET BURNT IN THE NSE UNTIL YOU HAVE SOLD.
Hey upward, how're you.Nice to see your face. How have you managed your PZ portfolio. I took aim and exited at close to my N32 target price. Some peeps may sell their bonuses, that may give the stock small running stomach.

Abeg i want to if its ok to stay with Bigtreat and Firstinland bank as the two is going down and down everyday or i should still hold on to them till the bears are out of the floor.
Bought bigtreat at N14.40 and firstinland at TS price for N13.30.
Fatherof2 your sincere advice will be appreciated.
Thanks.
Trully speaking, if you read my post about 2 months ago when they were going about their offer, i seriously castigated this bank and its offer because i knew they had seriously inflated the price over a very short time just because they wanted to raise funds. If you're in the long term, i'd suggest you do away with that thing.
As per Big treat, not sure how the price manipulation accusation will play out for this stock. But anything that goes down must go up. Big Treat i believe will recover later. You could probably sell then and seek other opportunities which are showing face again.
