Most people misunderstand what computer science stand for. Computer Science is a knowledge based profession likewise Computer Engineering. First you are called Programmer / Systems Analyst after your graduation in computer science. In the University of Benin for example, as a graduate of computer science your academic exposure emphasized on technologies and schematic models of programming and programming codes. Lexis and structure of programming languages finite automata skills, concepts of programming language, Compiler construction, High level language ranks, systems analysis and designs and mathematics. All these ranks high during your training. At the end of this academic theoretical training, you will be so much expose and have a good command of programming languages. You could develope your own compiler and rank yourself as microsoft. You could build your own software house. That is the vision.!!

But if you don't want to setup your own company for building new kind of software. You still have good opportunity to excel by using good existing tools. But I advise, after graduation, "You must not put money first!!!. Go for an industrial training!!! meet gurus in the field. Get a personal laptop and download free development environment and start building your own skills in the areas of your choice. There exist web development, ERP IS, GIS, Data warehousing, Systems / Network admins, Systems IS Auditors, IT governance etc etc. I repeat, Do not put money first. These skills development will be very simple and easy as you get along due to your already university academic. Please do not be like that nairalander who read computer science yet could not find his bearing and went for computer engineering as masters.

When you study computer science in the university, take example University of Benin, you are trained to be called A Programmer / Systems Analyst.

Majoy Loye actions were becoming unbecoming and an embarrassment to the comrade Gov. He was unlucky this time, him cup don full!. Major Loye became power drunk and arrogant! In Benin, the fear of  Major Loye is the beginning  of parting a way huge sum of money! Is a case of "every day for the thief, but one day for the owner". Point of correction, the man in question is a retired Major.  This guy had long be terrorizing the inhabitants of  Benin metropolis.The committee which he chaired is  charged with the responsibility of removing illegal structures that obstructs right of way and water ways. He was not asked to demolish houses with approved C of O . He was not asked to fish out houses built on government land. Also he was to work in collaboration with ministry of Land and survey, Ministry of environment if an occasion demands clarification. My brother this guy caused pains to people. He will ask for settlement, if you don't agree to his stake, forget it your property is gone. what about cases of indiscriminate extortion of money from innocent motorist or visitors to  benin who may not be aware of places not to  park their vehicle. Major Loye is bad riddance to bad rubbish! the Comrade Gov acted in good faith by that action. Recalled this same man was on news last month, when he framed some guys that they wanted to kidnapped  him. After a petition was written against him by some members of his committee.
