Hello, I am looking for a highly durable and affordable laptop that would really serve me. Specification: at least 4g ram, 500g hdd with very good sound card. Please, for emphasis, laptop must be in very good condition. Considering that there is no interstate movement due to the lockdown, my preference is for sellers who reside in Enugu. Please respond if you have any available. Thanks. |

anonymousmum: I have letter of zero balance from the hospital for the 3,800 bill for my delivery. I also have letter of zero balance for the doctor's fees. It's just this one night wahala. Meanwhile I got a call from them today that the hearing test is 440 and 220 for self pay. Meanwhile I was expecting them to mention it while I was there so I can reject it. They never mentioned it. Now they are calling me for the money. I am still wondering why they can't itemise everything and give someone a comprehensive list of their services when they admit you. After all, they spend all their time giving you a thousand and one forms and papers to read. Their system is not straightforward at all 1 Like |

anonymousmum: Extra 2,500. You are lucky. My own na the one wey dem dey call Original Gobe. I was billed extra 9,000 for spending a night at the hospital. A week before I put to bed doctor was worried about d size of my baby (3.9kg according to them) and asked me to go in let them monitor the baby and then decide whether I was going to be induced to labour. He told me the baby's size would be getting bigger and may get to the point of using CS. My annoyance is that i asked him if there was an extra charge for that and he said it was part of the whole delivery package. I went into the hospital that night and they monitored my baby through out the night. The next morning they decided to still give me time and discharged me. Now the hospital is giving me bill of 9k for just a night. Meanwhile a whole delivery package of two nights is 3,800 ...I don't know how that makes sense. Now the doctor is saying he did not misinform me. That no matter how many nights I spend before giving birth that i would not be charged unless I exceed the two days after giving birth. Well he was right. But then HE DISCHARGED ME THE FOLLOWING MORNING on his own terms. I was even reluctant about going in to the hospital that night and I told him I wanted to wait until baby was ready to arrive but he insisted. After the monitoring he was the one who decided I wasn't going to be induced and discharged me. I am sorry for this long post but I hope someone will learn something from my experience. Now after all negotiations they brought the bill down to half which I said I will not pay. The case is still hanging cos the highest amount am willing to pay for this is 1k. Please for those that have renewed their visas after child birth do they work with only your zero balance receipts or they still have to search for your payment records in their system? I am asking because they asked me to come next Tuesday for d zero balance letter on the 3,800k I paid. I already have zero balance letter for the doctor s fees. If they insist on the 4,500 half of the bill then honestly j am going to fashy them. Sometimes this American system has a way of frustrating those who want to play by the rules. Am totally pissed. 5 Likes |

The HepB test was carried out by my doctor when I got here . I think he mistakenly dint give the result to the hospital or something like that. Long and short of the story is that he came and settled with them and me and baby got discharged yesterday. It's good to argue things out with these hospitals cos they wanted to carry out the test, claiming that the doctor did not do the test since it wasn't among the documents he submitted to them on my behalf. If not that I declined, the test would have been done a second time, under that wrong assumption and of course that would have been a waste of money on my own part. Please let us always shine our eyes. End of discussion 21 Likes |

zeezahbee: Talk about being rude? Pls let's not go there. I think you still miss the point. It's not as if I am sick or baby is sick and am rejecting medical care becos of cost. I can never do that. If I have Hep B I will know. I know I don't have it. I don't experience any of its symptoms. They just want to be double sure baby doesnt have it by running the test on me but to me it's not necessary cos I know I don't have it. The only thing the doctor is doing is being extra careful with baby's health which I understand. Para venture anything happens to baby and they find out she has Hep B he will be blamed and here it could cost him his job. He is trying to avoid that situation. But the best he could do is give me the refusal form to sign..that's why provision has been made for refusal form. You can never force anybody to carry out anything he or she doesn't want, even on medical grounds. Give me refusal form and i will sign that i voluntarily refused the test and take responsibility for anything that happens. Finally too the advise am seeking is on if any of the mums who has already given birth here has ever been told to run the test and if yes, is it compulsory? No one has answered me. It is well. I love you too. Hugs. 5 Likes |

zeezahbee: Please don't misquote me as I am not blaming anyone here. What I meant was that the hospitals here don't give you a comprehensive list of what and what you are expected to do, only to come after the whole thing and start adding extra hidden charges. I specifically asked them for a comprehensive list of all the medical services they would offer and how much each would cost. They told me the doctor would give me that. I asked d doctor and he said all my tests are included in his bill apart from the blood work. I paid extra for the blood tests which were carried out by a lab that is different from doctor's office. Nobody told me about Hep B test whether it should be included or not. Only for the hospital to tell me now that they checked all my lab tests and found out that the Hep B test was not among the tests carried out. So if they were meant to include it and they did not is that my fault? Why should I pay extra for it now? If it wasn't part of the routine tests why didn't they inform me on time so I will know what am up against and plan better. Those are the issues. They don't usually give u enough info until when baby comes then hidden charges start popping up. That was the meaning of my statement. I am not blaming anyone here for not giving me correct info. I, on my own decided to come here. Most mums here don't use Hackensack. So don't misquote me. Besides there was no complication at all. I delivered normally. I am ok and baby is ok. I was meant to be discharged after 2 days only for me to hear now that baby will not be allowed to go unless I carry out the test even though she is in perfect state of health. My friend that gave birth here refered me to Hackensack. I have asked her and she said she never did the test. The Paed she used never mentioned it. Please if you don't have answers to my question pls allow others to answer me instead of twisting my post. I am not seeking better medical services here cos there is nothing wrong with me and I never told them at the embassy or anywhere that i was coming here to seek better medical services. They just want to run the test to know if i am positive or not so they can determine baby's status. Like i told them I can have that test done in Nigeria. It must not be here. Even if you are Dangote we still have to be prudent in spending and avoid unnecessary costs. 31 Likes |

Please why can't this people tell you all that is involved in childbirth so you will know how to make your budget. From the blues Hackensack just informed me now that they have to carry out Hep B test on me to know if baby has it or not. Meanwhile they gave her the vaccine this afternoon. They are now saying that the vaccine they gave her is for prevention (of course I know) . They need to carry out the test on me to know if i am positive or not in order to determine her own status. Of course there is an extra charge attached and now nobody here can tell me exactly how much am supposed to pay for it. Me I have refused it until I know how much it is. They said baby will not be discharged tomorrow until I carry out the test. I am waiting for them come tomorrow morning. I don't mean to discourage anybody here but I wish I hadn't changed my mind from going to El Passo. Please has anyone had this hep B experience? Is it compulsory? |

At POE, I met a harsh woman that asked me how I knew that it was ok to come and deliver in the US, I no even talk too much story, I just showed her the letter." I strongly believe if you had looked straight into her eyes with all boldness and said " with my B1/B2 visa I know I am entitled to medical services in the US and I know it's not illegal to have my baby in the US...." she would have simply let you be. Shayo5: Someone even shared the VO's response (can't remember the page) where it was explicitly explained that we are under no obligation to send the letter of change of intent, and the conditions under which you need to send it. The VO specifically stated that people get into problems when they get their visa for vacation and turn up a few months later at POE showing their pregnancy. In that case, they got the visa for vacation and never used it for that purpose only to turn up at POE with birthing purposes. It is viewed as misleading the VO and that is where the problem lies. The fact remains that if you have used your visa over time, for the purpose for which it was granted to you. NO NEED to write the letter. I also hope seriously that we don't abuse it and make them to stop accepting it. I believe if someone was sent back because of the letter then it means she got the visa while she was pregnant and did not declare her intentions. Like it has been mentioned here severally, honesty, boldness, body language and prayers matter a lot. If the lady did not declare her intentions when she got the visa only to appear at he POE with a bump, chances are, that she had guilt written over her. Any simple question from the CBP officers could throw her off balance and we know what that means. Please if your wife has travelled severally with her visa there is no need to write that letter 2 Likes |

SAkale: Good day ElPaso NLers, I just got an email from Doctores Parati that if I need a personalized letter of medical responsibility from a doctor in Del Sol Med Center (as I requested), then I have to pay a $100 non-refundable fee. In light of the recent concerns on Doctores Parati letters at the embassy, I want to ask if anyone has paid for this personalized letter and still experienced issues. Thanks. @justwise....ejo o. Shey I am not spamming this time. I need info biko. I asked for the same personalised letter from them. That was after I had paid their $150 to get the initial letter. They promised to send the doctor's personalised letter after a week but never did. Since it wasnt really needed at POE i didnt bother with them again. Good luck |
