Dats not what dis boys are asking for. |

PARIS, MAY 27, 2016: (DGW) Militancy in the oil-rich Niger Delta has taken a new turn as militants have vowed to break away from the federation of Nigeria. The separatist feelings and aspirations which resulted in the ongoing bombing of oil and gas facilities in the region have eventually found expression in unveiling its 'national' currency. Militants have been carry out attacks on oil and gas facilities of multinational oil corporations in the region the very latest being Chevron facility at its Escravos terminal on Thursday. Niger Delta Avengers which have claimed responsibility for the attacks have vowed to stop at nothing until a sovereign state of the Niger Delta is actualized. A source who spoke to our reporter on condition of anonymity says much has been done to the region's ecosystem resulting from the operations of oil companies in the region and that every hue and cry raised so far to draw the government's attention to their predicament has fallen on deaf ears. Hence the action to secede from Nigeria became absolutely necessary to save communities in the neglected region from gradual extinction. http://dailyglobewatch.com/index.php?url=2016%2F05%2Fbreaking-niger-delta-unveils-currency.html#.V0eCI296v8c.facebook

During one of his pitches, Donald Trump, who is running as the Republican Presidential Candidate of the United States, referred to Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria as an ‘insensible president’. Donald Trump like we all know, is very outspoken. He is one politician who loves to air his opinion with little or no concern about how his subject receives the comment. Some people would say Trump talks before thinking, others may say he is just being a blab, while a lot others simply love his undiplomatic approach to presenting speeches. No sensible president continuously travels round the globe while his country Nigeria is in terrible hardship and economic mess. It can only happen in Nigeria where all that matters to the President is the full introduction of Islam, annihilation of his political opponents and absolute extermination of the people of the old Eastern Nigeria. Buhari, prior to his questionable victory at the polls as the President of Nigeria made lots of promises which he has obviously failed to keep and in most cases denied.” Trump is not far from the truth, as Buhari has made tons of trips since he became the Nigerian President. The likes of Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State do not buy the idea of Buhari’s frequent trips as he says it is detrimental to the finances of the nation. No doubt President Buhari’s trips are becoming “too often,” Nigerians now wait to hear the next announcement of yet another trip. The country is in a pitiable state and needs her President to always be on top of his game. The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is capable of handling some trips abroad while the president stays home to take care of his people. In the past 10 months, President Buhari has made over fifteen (15) trips. He has been to the United States of America, Benin Republic, Ghana, France, India, Chad, Germany, Iran, South Africa, United Arab Emirate, Kenya, Ethiopia, to mention but a few. Meanwhile, he has not visited up to fifteen states in the country as a President. This is certainly what Mr. President and his All Progressives Congress (APC) meant when they said Nigeria would experience change when power gets into their hands. Recall that just last week, Donald Trump also referred to African leaders as ‘thieves’, using the president of Nigeria and Kenya as typical examples. He also said these African countries lack civilization and leadership skills and should be colonized a second time. Considering the appalling happenings in Nigeria, the US would-be-President may not be totally wrong after all but it would even be more interesting to see what happens if he becomes the next US president. |

By Mustafa Yahaya I marvel at the way and manner we think in this country, worst of it the way we think in the north. It is just a few months ago that we all continually lambasted president Jonathan’s cluelessness, I referred to him as the “drunken master of Otuoke”, and nobody harassed me, and now because they fear the power of the media that brought them to power they want to castrate the social media, with Buhari firing the first shot in an interview with Sahara reporters’ Adeola in New York, why, is it because it is Buhari? We demonstrated against pump price increment for petrol, government of president Buhari wants us to swallow the same pill we rejected a few months ago, yet some of my northern compatriots see nothing wrong with that, is it because it is Buhari? When three sons of Sheik Zakzaky were murdered during the Jonathan administration, El-Rufa’i called it genocide by the jonathanian army, now under Buhari more than 200 are killed, their mosque and houses destroyed under Elrufai’s nose as Governor of the same state, he has not called it genocide by the Buharian army, is it because it is Buhari? Under the Jonathan administration subsidy payments were termed as fraud, and there were hues and cries to crucify oil marketers, Buhari even called it a fraud himself, we also thought so, Six months later the same Buhari is paying for subsidy yet nobody is calling it a fraud, why, is it because it is Buhari? We criticized Jonathan for keeping a large fleet in the presidential fleet and wasting monies on maintenance, only recently President Buhari’s spokesman admitted 2 billion Naira was spent on their maintenance, when other presidents are even doing away with their jets, yet we sit down and watch helplessly, is it because it Buhari? Fuel scarcity is biting harder, value of the Naira is going rock bottom, inflation is now on auto pilot, while profits are dropping, purchasing powers are becoming weaker, yet we are asked not to query them, is it because it is Buhari? If we criticized Jonathan for cluelessness, we will also criticize Buhari for helplessness. While tribal and regional jingoist see nothing because it is Buhari, what I see first is Nigeria and not whether Jonathan is a southerner or Buhari is a Northerner, we. Cannot continue to be trapped in the closet of tribalism, regionalism and religious bigotry yet expect our country to remain one and grow. Yes! we might be of different orientation and background but what is good is good anywhere any time and what is bad is bad, I cannot be suffering and keep smiling because “my brother” is the president. http://www.pickgist..co.ke/2016/02/is-it-because-it-is-buhari.html?m=1 |
