so y'all just seeing what Wiilian brings to the table? laughing in Russky yasik. The boys works hard like no one else. And yes, Hazard was phenomenal today. No doubt. Curardo does look like bad market but then he needs time to get used to the EPL. maybe he will come good? its just the 1st match after the break but you can't argue with the effect it had. just liked I imagined. Champions elect eh? |

Nihilist: He was reacting to Diouf who was level with one of the centre backs.
Any over the top through ball might have been intercepted. 9 times out of 10, the midfielder in Adam's position would have tried a through ball, not an audacious shot. Adams was successful for doing the unexpected...not because Thibault was at fault
Lets move on Costa injured again he did NOT react. That's the koko. Anyways Remy it is. |

AirborneLacer: We shouldn't forget that we were in possession of the ball when Courtois left his line.
Me think Hazard getting fouled and being dispossessed of the ball, the quick transition and Adam's crazy attempt from his own half was never expected.
I for one wasn't expecting that strike. nobody was except Adams himself. Courty was supposed to be reading the game and react accordingly. A great goal it was, probably GOTS. but Thibaut shouldn't have allowed that. |

Missy89: Russia technology is not Zero. Far from it. You should read up Russian inventions and science. One of the best in world actually. There are many reasons why Russian technology have not taken off commercially unlike the west. It has more to do with the political, and cultural factors of the country. take a look at tetris for example. If was a huge success in the west in the 80s but the inventor had to sneak it out of the Soviet union and got paid for the royalties way later after the USSR went burst. Russians generally celebrate their scientists as scientist and not as entrepreneurs. That has to do with the legacy of the Communism where getting rich quick with intellectual property was not a thing. another example is Alexander Prokhorov and Nikolai Basov that got the nobel prize for laser technology invention but never commercialized it. This shows you are NOT on ground here as far as Russian or the level of technology goes. You believe the crap you read online. Dont do that. If you are referring to the not so glorious USSR days (ever seen a "ГОРИЗОНТ" TV? ) , I might be forced to agree with you, but nna mehn, its been zero in the last 2 decades and more. Are you also aware that Russians rarely buy MADE IN RUSSIA? Cars, phones, equipments etc. Can you tell me why? Missy89: Fracking that is being used in the west today was a Russian idea. Russian scientists published the idea way back in the 60s but never really used, patent or commercialized it(I can keep going). The situation is just beginning to change now that Investors and IT based technology for profit is beginning to to be in vogue among the younger generation. Now we see stuffs like Yotaphone , Kapersky etc. It will take a while for most Russian scientists to have the same mentality like their counterparts in the west to make a quick buck off every invention or patent all their works and for a huge investor community to invest in most Russian tech like the silicon valley.
Point is Institutions, culture, and tradition do matter for technology to be successful. The Russian military industrial complex has been competitive that should tell you something. Afterall, most of the commercialized techs today are developed by the MICs (commercial airline, power plants, Internet, Microwave, Gps, synthetic rubber, duck tape, etc). The difference is while western commercial markets have been able to take advantage of the Military largess pumped into their universities R & D labs and made lots of money with it, the Institutions in Russia prevented it because free market or knowledge industries do not exist in a communist country. You might want to read up more on fracking before coming to any conclusions. Besides, this is 2015. What has Russia achieved since then? Heck, its the BIGGEST country on earth yet they can't even diversify their economy. Missy89: Apart from trying to be influential in Eastern Europe, There are legitimate economic and security interest for Russia in Ukraine. The country produce most of Russia military spare parts (The Russians can produce it but they prefer to ship it from Ukraine as a way to subsidize the Ukrainian economy. They are abandoning those industries and building their own plant on Russian territory now however). America is going to get the same thing Russia is currently experiencing in Ukraine. Since the 90s, The Russians have fed, subsidized and pampered Ukraine with many incentives but all this largess was in the hands of the few. The US/EU will do the same thing for a while and wont get their money's worth .Just a matter of time. The main security interest in Ukraine is the Sevastopol Naval base for which Russia was supposed to be paying lease/rent every 10 years or so. (You can thank Timoshenko and part of the reason I believe she was jailed). When Yushenko refused to fall in line, he was duly poisoned. They are milions of Ukrainians working and living in Russia and I see them virtually on daily basis, but please get off that notion that Russia is feeding and pampering Ukraine. They only get some subsidy for gas as the "transit country. This in my opinion is pretty normal. Russia virtually does not produce ANYTHING. Everything is imported. How then can they just put a finger up and expect everyone to fall in line? |

SirShymexx: You mean the same Germany that expelled high ranking CIA officials from its country? The same Germany that US is spying on and occupying? Did you read the damning article in German newspapers this year about the US anti-Russia sentiments at the EU is hurting Germany? And didn't the former German chancellor travel to Moscow to celebrate his birthday with Putin?
Also, all those countries are just after US' money and big bribes. Didn't the Polish finance minister saying so many unpleasant things about the US a few months ago in a leaked phone conversation? Behind closed doors - they all know they are better off with Russia but the lure of the west for their elites is the problem. Those countries need to stay where they are - they're a burden on Western Europe.
Which country expanded further East with NATO after it promised never to do so when the Berlin Walls came down? Maybe you dont know but countries spy on each other. You might want to write that down. The Polish minister can say anything but everyone knows who they will run to should they run into problem. The Polish cannot stand the russians. Go to Poland and ask. They still see the russians as "occupants". No country on earth is better off with Russia cos aside money and gas (and they cant do this forever) it has nothing else to give. Technology- zero. First class products- zero. and Please name one country that Russia as developed? Chechnya? Abkhazia? Dagestan? heck even Batia (yep, that big Belorussian president) told pukin off. Naturally, Russia should NOT be at loggerheads with Ukraine unless something is fundamentally wrong and that is exactly the case here. Russia is trying hard to regain its influence but nobody will allow it. That's why the only language they speak now is "aggression" |

Nihilist: Historically, most Balon D'or winners ply their trade outside the EPL. The one and only EPL player to win it was CR7 and that was 7 years ago. Traditionally yes, but this is because in the EPL the MAIN focus is the team. You will most like talk of Chelsea, Manure and Co as team/club instead of debating about individuals cos they are rarely allowed to shine. Clubs na the koko. Bigger than any individual player. Do you get my point? Nihilist: Look at English teams flopping in Europe. EPL clubs can't even attract the biggest names in football these days, and the best players in the league invariably end up at Madrid or Barca. But it wasnt so last season. Or the season before that. We were in the semis and we all know how Real demolished Banshit. It was an all spanish final, and we've also had an ALL english final. I also remember Fulham going far in the Europa. Its cyclical to some extent. Nihilist: EPL as a business is not based on talent but hype. Most business are hypes as it all depends on how you sell it. That is why it is called business. Nihilist: It's sold as brand on the back of 4 clubs. Surely you don't think people all over the world tune in to watch the worldbeaters at Aston Villa and West Brom slug out a 0-0 draw in the Midlands Derby? So you mean millions tune in to watch Granada play Cordoba? or Metz play Evian? or Frieburg against Paderbon? Nihilist: This rule is really targeted at those 4 clubs who have the finances, personnel and facilities to develop the English grassroot game to world class quality or something close The current model sees clubs hoovering up the most talented youngsters from academies, farming them out on loan to other clubs who have no interest in long term development of the loanee and as such use them anyhow, and eventually these English players end up in the lower leagues.
By forcing the clubs to develop talent that they have to play, these youngsters may finally get the chance to develop that they simply don't have now.
We only have 1 English regular our team. Cahill dey struggle with Zouma so he doesn't count. Bertrand might have been something but he got dispatched by an 18 million pound flop. Sturridge might have been something, but a 50 million pound flop stood in his way. McEchran might have been something. Bamford could have been something.
And from an FA perspective, a stronger grassroots equals a stronger national pool to choose from. Clubs should not be forced to do develop anything as naturally it is in the club's best interest to do so. Many are praying and willing to see another JT, a Kane at every club but it ain't that easy. If it was, clubs like Stoke wont need to spend on players like Bojan? Why throw money at a problem when you have the solution right in front of you. This is business/sports and should be treated as such. |

Them people for russia are trying to implement (did actually implement) the same strategy/proposal as Dyke's and it did nothing to help their national team or league. In fact, the reverse was/is the case.
The EPL is a MASSIVE business, a package that no longer rests on the shoulders of made in England and ONLY for English people. If they pursue Dyke's proposal, I have no doubt that it will backfire. |

SirShymexx: Germany is actually very pro-Russia and it is one of the biggest investors in the Country, hence there is so much pressure on Angela Merkel at home. Also, the Germans respect the Russians more cos they left unlike the yanks who still occupy the country. And don't forget East Germany still has a lot of folks who grew up speaking Russian - Angela Merkel is one of them.
As for the Baltics - apart from Poland, the rest are just after America's wealth and the billions the US throws at them. Very soon, most of them will fall back in line when the money stops flowing - Georgia is a classic case.
Realistically, Russia just wanna chill without troubling anyone - US is the one expanding into the Russian sphere of influence and causing trouble. You joking right? Pro what? Ms Merkel aint pro Pukin? Germans respect Russians? are you kidding me? Germany is only after its business investments, plus its basically the "head" of the EU. There is a need for Germany to act as the BIG Uncle. That said, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia - All those country cannot stand Russia. They rather self-extinct that fall in line. Russia is paying more than you can imagine to Chechnya just to avoid wahala. By the time Tadzhikistan, Turkmenistan, Dagestan and the of North Caucasus start trouble, believe it or not, Russia wont be able to handle it. Ever heard of Beslan? It is , how should I say it, childish to say US is the one causing trouble. Let's leave it there. |

SirShymexx: It is no one's interest, not just Russia's. In a shooting match between the great powers - half of the planet will be destroyed in the first 24 hours. They are not suicidal.
However, if it ever happens - I don't see any country defeating Russia in Europe. Even Russia now matter how crazy pukin is, will NOT go to war. He won't. All na bravado. Individually obviously no country can defeat Russia in Europe but there are far too many countries in that area that are CRAZILY mad at them. Think of ALL the former soviet countries + Germany + others. It's not pretty at all. |

SirShymexx: Lol. You naija folks living in America are crackpots, aren't ya? You watch too much MSM and listen to too much US propaganda.
In as much as this news is rubbish cos the yanks aren't suicidal - Russia has one of the most equipped modern militaries on the planet, and their new doctrine is far superior to Soviet's. If I were you, I'd fear Putin's Russia.
When their new tools start rolling out later this year - US will scamper for cover. Have you seen their new T-14 Armata tanks?
Can US even win a war in Europe? Looool There is nothing to fear. russia can bully countries like Ukraine, Georgia and that is where it stops. That country is more or less isolated. It has very few allies (Belorussia and Kazakhstan to some extent). Every other country around that zone (please dont mention armenia, south osetia, etc) is waiting for it to fall. It is in Russia's best interest NOT to go to war. And that is why you see Pukin fighting tooth and nail to ward off weapon installations very close to its borders. If you don't know. Now you know. |
