You have a player who if he is not scoring goals is busy creating assists. Agreed he doesn't look hungry like before but so does the ENTIRE team save a few.

IMO
- Chelsea is somewhat a tough club and very difficult to understand
- We shipped out Ballack, Deco, Belleti, Ricchi without adequate replacement (never mind Lotti claiming to use that opportunity to the younger players advantage)
- Spending 50 milla on Torres in WINTER - IMO a summer raid on "cheaper" and hungrier players would have been more adequate, no?
- In any case, that money SHOULD/COULD have been spent on a creative midfielder (bite me but even Charlie Adam would have made a difference).
- YZ (played 10 mins for the first time since November), Benayoun, Essien, Lamps, Ramirez - What impacts have they made? You could as well point fingers at them. Some got injured and some just ain't doing what we know them to be capable of doing. How is that DD's fault?
- We rely on full backs to create goals. . .run the line and cross into the box. Opponents already know this. But some dun-du eating fan thinks its DD's fault. PATHETIC!!!
- DD and Nic are still very good finishers at least for this season.

Bottom line - WE NEED SOMEONE WHO CAN CREATE GOALS!!!!

My darling team Chelsea messed up today badly but well, na so football be.

In Spain however, I've ALWAYS rooted for RM and will continue to do so.

RM could have scored more tonight but a win is always good.

Pressure mounting at the top. Barca beware.

Because DD is topping the assist list instead of scoring goals.

And yes stats can be misleading . . . sometimes.



Example.
Anelka weaves past two players on the right of attack and gets to the byline.
Whips a cross in and the ball aims at Drogba. Go watch that again and you will find that DD's first touch let him down.
He mis-controlled the ball and already lost it. If Lamps was not there, Jag would have cleared it. But lamps scores. . And guess what? it would be recorded as an assist for Drogba which could take him up to 9 if that was a PL game.

How many times do you think this has happened this season?

Now that's where stats are misleading.


DD in prime sharpness would hit that ball on the half-volley first time. He tries to control it and loses it.
I have seen that a billion times this season.



You will call that an assist. I call that luck. Arshavin gets dropped more than ever before even though he tops that list. Can you explain why? The reason he tops that list and is still dropped is the same reason DD should be dropped - A DIP IN FORM.

DD just like every other player in the team is/are experiencing a MASSIVE dip in form. Why pick only him out. You are yet to answer?

DD has won us trophies season after season and he deserves to be respected. He is already a LEGEND! (just like JT, Lamps, Essien, Cech. . .)
He should be benched ONLY if someone BETTER comes along (or at least if we are developing a younger striker who needs experience and matches under his belt) and I don't think that person is FT.

Mind you, Lotti benched him this season. So what are you on? Did we win those matches?

Until you admit that lack of creativity is the issue, we will continue to have this argument. Any day Anytime!

Lamps for whatever reason you deem fit

Heck, bench the whole team and bring the reserves in.

The same can be applied to DD. Because he has 8 assists should not automatically guarantee a place for him.
DD concedes possession far too much. I can argue that if he holds on to the ball and makes conscious passes, it could enable other mid-fielders to create assists.

9 goals with 12 games to go is poor form for a top striker. That's why he should be dropped.

How is FT better than DD? Why should FT be played in his place? DD on the other hand has MORE assists than ANY other player in our lineup. i.e to say, even when he is NOT scoring he is STILL useful.
So tell us, why should he be dropped?

You will read Ibime's post periodically talking about Lamps efficiency dipping because he is tracking back to cover with the full backs. The RCM and LCM run forward and run back to cover.
The full backs run the entire pitch to cross a ball and run back to cover defensively. So do the RF and LF who double up on the oppo's advancing players. Which leaves us with only DD - who doesn't track back. Only when there is a corner kick or free kick. You are overstating his contribution.
And no he does not give th ball away "sometimes" . . . Anyone who has watched football for a decent amount of time knows no one in a Chelsea shirt has given the ball away more than DD. Stop this worship!

Why you act like like you started supporting Chelsea even before the Club was founded is laughable but that is not the issue.

Let me ask you - why did we lose this match?
- Was it because DD gave the ball away? DEFINITELY NOT!

So why are you picking on a single player when in fact there are other 10?

DD created several chances and such were the chances that he was in no position to score himself.
1. He set Malouda clear with only the keeper to beat even when he was carrying a knock.
2. 3 set pieces but Kalou and on other occasions (Lamps) wasted those chances.  
3. He crossed in for Terry with the goal gaping but the skipper instead choose to pass backwards. Was that his fault?

He (DD) gave the ball away (you could say same about Lamps, Ramirez, Malouda, Kalou) not more than 4-5 times and none of which were critical. So why pick on him alone? Man, that is pathetic.

He constantly tracked back to help in defense. How you managed to see just one "effort" is beyond me understanding.

Ok, maybe I understand you don't like the player but FFS, say it like it is.

For the record - I'd rather have a misfiring DD leading the front line than that 50 milla flop (well, unless he scores the winning goal in the UCL final ). Reason is simple. . .hez got GOALS in him.
