Also from his blog: EXCITING SEASON AHEAD Posted on: Thu 13 Aug 2009 Hello everyone, this is the first of a series of blogs I will be writing monthly for all the fans out there.
I get a lot of questions from people about my thoughts and what goes on behind the scenes at Chelsea FC and in my private life. Hopefully these blogs will give a glimpse of that.
This season is going to be an exciting one for me and everyone associated with Chelsea Football Club without a doubt.
I'm sure most of you are wondering why I make that claim!
Well it's because I say so…. and it's also because I have the feeling the good times are coming back.
When I talk about the good times I am referring to the back to back Premier League crowns and all the six trophies we won in three years a few years ago. I arrived after the first championship win but was part of the second one.
All the players started to feel for the good times when towards the back end of last season we got into the winning habit and remained unbeaten till the end of the season (Barcelona didn't beat us- they went through after an away draw).
That's the Chelsea we are used to and I am sure you are all used to as well. The team spirit during that era was fully established under Guus and we all wanted to win for Chelsea Football Club and ourselves.
During pre-season I could see that same desire on the faces of everyone and that's why I strongly believe there is something exciting around the corner for Chelsea Football Club.
Apart from the feeling I have, I will also say I am fully rested, fully charged and raring to go and that normally means I am in the mood for business. I am hoping to stay injury free this season, so I can contribute fully to the team.
Last season I started off with niggling injuries throughout pre-season and it all ended in tears when I got injured on international duty.
This time I have slept a lot, eaten everything mummy made for me in Ghana and I feel like I can play two games a day. In the words of James Brown: 'I feel good…- So good, So good'……,
Another reason why I am excited about this season is the new boss. We are already enjoying his company and methods. Everyone knows we have been in five Champions League semi-finals in six years and one final. We are desperate to win the biggest trophy in club football and I strongly believe our new boss can help us do it.
He has been there, done it and got the shirt for it and we are already getting the vibe from him. It's exciting - oh what a thriller it will be this season.
The squad has been together for a long time and we are all yearning and hungry for more trophies. We are ready to rock you and we hope the crowd can sing. We are the Champions at the end of the season; ENJOY THE SEASON BECAUSE WE WILL.
PS: There are some song titles in this blog - I will tell you how many next month - see if you can spot them and the song writers too. http://www.chelseafc.com/news/exciting-season-ahead-20090813_2260303_1752525 |

Ibime: The same Thierry Henry who within 3 months of moving to Spain was crying his heart out that he misses his daughter and he wished he was closer to her in London; the same person left Arsenal because of what was happening on the home front?
I can see that Gaynners are feeding into self-delusion. Henry left Arsenal because the grass is greener on the other side. Whilst he is no clairvoyant, he knew there was at least a probability of UCL success and international acclaim at Barca. On the other hand the probability of UCL success with Arsenal is virtually non-existent. To hijack a phrase from the great poet Canibus, Arsenal winning the UCL is not impossible, its just highly motherfucking improbable! POst of the day. Nothing more to add. He left 'cos he knew he had better chances of winning the CL with Barca and not Arse-anal. End of. . . |

Krayola2: @ Sauron. . .u don't become king of spain by winning a trophy. . .u become king of spain by winning a trophy playing magical football. Madrid ain't done that in a long long time.
Henry left Arsenal cause Barca is awesome and he was guaranteed playing time. Period!! Cank kiu and add the CL to it. C'est Fini. Meanwhile, Estonia 0- 1 Brazil ( Moi was expecting some ripping apart here- Match still in progress sha) |

debosky: First of all there are no comparisons to Henry - he had won all he could win at Arsenal and was at the tail end of his career - all he wanted was the CL so he moved. At the time he moved AW's contract was in question so at 29 he had @HNIC, I want you to counter this. You claimed he left MAINLY because of family matters. |

Politics › Re: FG tells ASUU : "Go to hell!" by FBS: 6:04pm On Aug 12, 2009 |
Bialegend: Only a fool will not know why your FG want to cripple "their" future. I highlighted the reason in my post and all you did was to ask useless question against my comment. This is akin to having a bath in a river and crying that soap entered your eyes. Mumus, little brain nigerians, the reason is clear. The awusa and Yoruba led govt. since after the war have been creating means to stalk and arrest the educational forwardness of Igbos. This frequent strikes is one of such. If you have any other reason apart from my own as to why such strikes will be frequent in a rich country such as nigeria, then tell us and stop criticizing my own candid opinion. Fact is that education is not important to you nigerians, especially the awusas as it is to Igbos. One can easily say that you were referring to yourself. Thinking by pointing fingers at the Hausas and Yorubas, you have successfully identified the problem only shows level of reasoning. Better just zip it if you have nothing intelligent to say or start reciting the remixed biafra anthem as a way of passing time. Nonsense. |
