Latest Pre-season News!:

Monaco 0-1 Inter: Eto'o Makes Debut As Inter Win Pirelli Cup

Inter were victorious at the Stade Louis II, winning the 2009 Pirelli Cup against Monaco while new signing Samuel Eto'o made his debut and Diego Milito continued his good form by scoring the winner.

Monaco gave a good account of themselves, but the Argentine's crafty goal proved to be the difference in the principality.

Jose Mourinho started a 4-3-3 formation with Ricardo Quaresma and Mancini given an opportunity to prove themselves in support of teenage sensation Mario Balotelli, who nearly opened the scoring in the first minute.

On the half-hour mark, Julio Cesar was called into action, making a decisive save on Alejandro Alonso's diagonal drive. The Ligue 1 outfit dominated the latter stages of the half, earning several corners, but could not make the break-through.

'The Special One' switched things up for Inter at the outset of the second-half making a number of changes, including throwing on Milito, Eto'o, Dejan Stankovic, and Sulley Muntari. The substitutions paid instant dividends, as the Ghana midfielder's pass was collected by Milito, who cut threw a pair of defenders before finding the back of the net.

Monaco had a few more half chances through Park Chu-Young as the Nerazzurri attempted to keep possession, but the match ended 1-0 in favour of the Italians and captain Javier Zanetti was presented with the Pirelli Cup trophy.

Now that 3 time EPL back to back champions have been disgraced by Bayern, what would happen to amateurs like Gayyners

Without Ribery, Klose and Lucatoni we still whopped a Man Utd team who started with VDS, Ferdinand, Evra, Nani Fletcher, Scholes Giggs Berbatov and Owen . Rooney Anderson all played a part Only Vidic is the only notable regular missing and were still tonked

shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked

Let them come and explain how the serial EPL champs were disgraced by a bunch of youth players.

Breno, Badstuber, Muller are all teenagers or just 20

SHAME on the EPL cos if 3 times back to back EPL champs were disgraced like this, what would happen to minnows like Ass-anal?
YOu call that disgraced? did you even watch the match sef? It went on to penalties. The most boring match of pre-season so far. Neither side could get a goal in 90 mins of rubbish football.

Milan turn down Blues' Pirlo bid
AC MILAN have turned down a player-plus-cash offer from Chelsea for midfield ace Andrea Pirlo.

New Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti is keen on bringing the Italian playmaker to Stamford Bridge after coaching him while in charge of the Serie A giants.

And he is reported to have tabled a bid of around £8.6million for the Italy international, with Claudio Pizzaro used as a makeweight in the deal.

But the Italians value Pirlo in the £20m bracket and are refusing to lower their asking price.

Milan's general manager, Adriano Galliani, revealed the Blues had tabled an offer for the 30-year-old, but confirmed it had been turned down.

He said: "I returned to the sender, because we are not interested."

Toure: City move on the cards for six months

Kolo Toure has revealed his move to Manchester City was in the pipeline six months ago.

Mark Hughes' latest recruit was introduced to the press after signing a four-year deal at Eastlands on Wednesday.

And the 28-year-old says he was fixed on a move north even before fellow former Gunner Emmanuel Adebayor joined the club two weeks ago.

"I think before Adebayor we knew,'' he said. "There was some talk about coming here. It's from six months ago.''

Let the better team win but pray MU carries the day else Dayokanu will go on an overdrive.
This match is a sleeping therapy. Slow and dull.
Gomez cannot score even if the whole stadium were to be a goal post.
Hopes he improves though.
